Narrow street flags
Here in Pittsburgh, we're a city of hills, bluffs, and narrow, winding roads, and listening to Waze help navigate me has led to $400 in repairs and 3 near accidents in the past 2 months by taking me through poorly maintained streets and roads so narrow that, while not legally-required to be one way, nevertheless make for perilous travel with few opportunities to turn around and try another route.
If users or editors could flag narrow streets and if an option was labeled to avoid these streets, similar to the options to avoid toll roads, it would…

Police
Sorry to upset all of the folks asking for more features to warn of police presence but this is a childish feature which should be removed. Waze is a great app and you would be best served by taking the "high road" and promoting the app as an aid to road safety by making drivers aware of road situations and hazards. But many wazers like me have their kids also driving and I am just waiting with dread for the day that a fellow wazer tells a drunken driver how to avoid a policeman and then that drunk driver…

I live in Northern Virginia in the Washington DC suburbs. Many of my trips take me around the DC Beltway and on other roads that have "Hot Lanes." The Hot Lanes generally operate next to the regular lanes, but being toll lanes, sometimes move faster, which is why some people use them.
Most of the time, I don't use Hot Lanes because most of the time, they don't get me there appreciably faster and are not worth the money. There have, however, been times when I would have liked to have known how much time I could save…

Add Victoria, Australia Data APIs
The Victorian Government In Australia offers a number of Data API's that would be highly useful to have integrated into the Waze App

Give warning when routing through ferries
Hi,
Currently Waze gives you a warning when routing through toll roads, but not when routing through ferries where the majority are also paid. It would be nice that Waze also then gives a warning when routing with ferries.

Real-Time "Reckless Driver" Alert to Improve Road Safety
A proposal to introduce a new reporting category that allows users to alert others about reckless or dangerous driving in real-time, enabling nearby drivers to take precautionary measures and prevent accidents.
The Problem:
Reckless drivers (excessive speeding, weaving between lanes, aggressive tailgating) pose an immediate threat to everyone on the road. Currently, law-abiding drivers have no way of receiving an early warning about a dangerous vehicle approaching them. In many cases, this lack of awareness leads to severe accidents that could have been avoided if drivers had a few seconds to react.Proposed Solution:

Alert And/Or Settings/Navigation Option for Low Bridges
Low bridges (rail and road) are an issue throughout Westchester County, NY and over-height trucks frequently strike these bridges. Apparently on S Main (Rt 1) in Port Chester, Metro North is reporting a low bridge as an object in the road (for several months).
The problem here is, I would never consider a bridge as an 'object in road'. Rather, this alert distracts from looking at the low bridge warning signs. Drivers would pay attention to a permanent alert of a low bridge for this and other sites. Or for navigation by over-height vehicles, adding an option in…67 votes -

Also, often your server does not have enough capacity during rush hour and devices cannot connect to your network to get routing and road info.

New Driver / Learner Mode - For drivers that have restrictions for speed / highway
A mode for new driver/learner, where restrictions (typically not allowed on major highways, or speeds above 100kph. When this mode is on the route provided avoids these. Much like avoid Toll.

Traffic lights navigation
Mostly in cities, sometimes I'm used to get navigation guidance from people, telling me to "turn right at the 3rd traffic light ahead" or "turn left at the next junction ahead". I think such navigation method - by counting road & infrastructure elements, rather than calculating distance - could be useful and preferable for some people. It may require initially mapping all these road elements in order to enable it... I believe its worthwhile :)
