Add a feature/option to avoid railroad crossings
Today I got stuck waiting for a freight train twice. It would have saved me time to have an option on Waze to give me an alternate route and how many minutes the detour takes in order to avoid the railroad crossing. When I got stuck for the 2nd time I took a right turn to explore the area and found an underpass 2 blocks away, which saved me about 5 minutes. This gave me the idea.

Add 'NO CELL SERVICE AHEAD'. Phase 2: Notify me @start. Phase 3:Give turn-by-turn directions, w mileage 4 the dead area.
Add 'NO CELL SERVICE AHEAD' to the list of events. If ppl keep confirming, leave it there indefinately. Methinks adding a new button just like a cop or accident shouldn't be all that difficult.
Twice lately, I've been very, very lost because I hit a dead area with no cell service.

Waze is mutting all sound of my Multimedia Central Android 4.4
Team there is any way to Waze not mute all my sounds ? Normally 99% of the people listen radio / music when they are driving.... But if I'm hear music from radio, mp3, Spotify... and them i start Waze unfortunately he cut all sounds... Different of IGO and Google MAPs GPS programs, can this be fixed / ajusted ?

add friend by username
I would like to add friends by their waze username. As a long time adapter of waze, I always found it odd that I couldn't add friends by username. WIth social media being so open, there are still users who feel waze does not need to know their phone number and shares the drive just fine through email and text messages. It is unfair to only allow people to connect by giving up personal information or using social media. A person's location is private information and should be allowed a more private way to share it if needed.

Launch Waze automatically when driving
It's rather annoying for me having to remember to launch the Waze app every time I start driving somewhere. Would it be possible for the app to detect that you are driving and launch automatically? Preferably with as little battery drain as possible.

When a warning appears, show a shrinking progress bar (regress bar, closing-in bar?)
When a warning appears (hazard, police, vehicle on shoulder, traffic), show a shrinking progress bar (regress bar, closing in bar?), perhaps with distance number also. The current tiny numbers are hard to read, require too much attention, and give no feel for the approach rate. Waze assumes perfect close and medium vision too often. If there are several: unclear, but I suppose focus on nearest.

Show map and directions immediately after entering a destination
An option to switch off the route summary after choosing a destination would be useful. This summary hijacks your screen and it is not always easy to hit OK while driving. This screen will pop up sometimes when a connection is lost and then restored

Keep the last 5 min of your travel speed data so you can see if a cop is "inflating" your speed to give you a more expensive ticket.

Report Drivers
We should be able to report when there is a crazy driver on the road. I just had a lady tailgate me, swerve around me, cut me off, and proceed to tailgate other cars in front of me. Having a feature to report this would be helpful for safety reasons.

Turn by turn (next turn) panel too big
Is there a way to make turn by turn (next turn) smaller in landscape mode. Takes up to much of display. Possibly be able to hide it until you are within a certain distance from the turn. (This is on a Note 3)

Pace Car Ghost?
Like in old Mario Cart game: show a ghost icon that's a recording of your best individual time on a particular route. Stay up with the ghost and meet or beat previous time

Notify conditions between home and work
Send a notification of a significant event that has occurred between home and work whilst the app is not in use. This feature is enabled only when either at work or home and is configured to only scan for issues between home and work when at home, vice versa.
For instance, if I am at work and a major accident has happened on my usual route, I want to know about it before I set off so I have options other than just finding an alternative route. The notification could state something along the lines of "[incident type] reported on…

Add ability to display on map only selected friends
As I know today user has no option to select which wazers will be displayed on the map. It is all wasers or not to display at all. Please add option to select specific wazers to display on map from friends list

Mis estimados y admirados amigos de Waze, soy de El Salvador y aprovecho para felicitarles por esta aplicación tan excelente!
Agregar a la opciones de alertas la opción de LLUVIA, ya que acá Centro América llueve mucho y esa opción no esta disponible, incluso lluvia moderada o tormenta. En tormenta es peligroso manejar y seria de gran ayuda en los lugares donde llueve. Saludos!

warning if my daily standard route to work is blocked. because im not glued to waze on my daily route, and in case of block, i end up in hell because i notice too late

4th sound option: only say things once.
add a 4th sound option for when i do want audible navigation, but don't want anna (that's what i named her) telling me the same thing over and over the closer i get. i only need to hear it once. maybe just at the half-mile mark?
this gets especially annoying when the prompt is, like, 30 words long, and is repeated several times, consecutively, because i'm driving at highway speeds, and go from 1 mile, to a ½ mile, to 500 feet, etc., with her prompting me before she's even done with the previous prompt.
