Allow users to set routing preferences based on factors other than journey time
Waze comes up with some extraordinary routes to minimise journey time, but the best route is a combination of several factors. How about allowing users to set preferences for other factors such as shorter distance, minimising turns, best fuel consumption etc.

The shortest route in terms of time should take account of a reduced speed compared with the maximum speed
My employer wants me to drive with a reduced speed below the speed limits :
- 110 km/h on roads limited to 130 km/h
- 100 km/h on roads limited to 110 km/h.
I can't set those maximum speeds into the Waze settings.
The path with the shortest time depends on the maximal speed a vehicle has on each type of road.1 vote -
Show factors that impact route prediction.
Show factors that impact route prediction.
Example: New Orleans has many closures during Mardi Gras season.
I had Waze show route to a Burger King that I knew would be impacted by closures. The pre-route screen did not show any information that would hint to the problem.
The route did come up as expected that was far from a direct route.
Then checking the map in Waze, it did show the many closures that the route page did not.Waze should show closures, traffic, Hazzard Reports and anything else that would impact the route.

Choose if we want to go back streets an miss all traffic
Go routes based on my history like if i go a lot of back streets have thsi as options show all routes possible to this place im going an let me choose an ways I’d possibly like to go would make a lot better an save ways I like to drive so can just go this way instead of have maps say wrong way or missed turn or u turn or anything like that an also tell us what lanes to be in an how many streets till turn

Save Driven route button
Can you put a button at the completion of a route that we're able to save the route as driven? I've use my saved destinations many times and on some, Waze doesn't give me the best route.. Waze may think it's the best route but in reality it's not.. I'd like to be able to save my route as I drove it. There are times, many, where there is a detour and the locals don't give you a way out and leave you in never never land.. Thanks

Straighter/easier routes setting
There should be a way to set a preference for straighter/easier routes. Often, Waze suggests a route with a bunch of turns down small side streets or a really curvy road just to save one minute on a 20-minute drive when there was a more direct route such as a main road or highway. With this preference enabled, Waze would default to a route with a slightly longer duration that is much simpler and requires fewer turns.

Convoy mode
Multiple accounts linked together showing the same route regardless of configuration. That would help convoys to stay together. Also tracking and highlighting other members of the convoy. Maybe somekind of "wait for me" or "dont wait for me" button.

Quality of road surface w/ permanence
Allow users to report the quality of the road surface (beyond the occasion pothole / object in the road). A crowd sourced critique of how smooth/good the road surface is that has “permanence”. Like construction notices, when planning routes out of town, this could help drivers avoid bad sections of Interstate/ State routes. Add this category to reporting button so drivers can share their assessment, recheck every mile (“still a road quality of rough?) once a driver flags the road surface as poor / rough / bumpy / etc. Not to be alerted, but to be used in route planning…

Rank routes by least number of minutes in traffic
For a long drive, calculate "% of time spent in traffic" and "# of minutes spent in traffic" and include that as a criteria.
We just stared at 3 different routes for a 4+ hour drive that had varying lengths and amount of time in stop & go traffic. We would have liked to have selected easily "the one that makes the car move the most and has the least stop & go, so we don't get car sick and our children don't wake up."

Safest route i.t.o. crime
In countries like South Africa there are certain high crime areas that should be avoided. If you read the news there are frequent reports of tourists especially, taking a short route unknowingly through a dangerous area and becoming a victim of crime or worse being murdered (sadly this is true). It would be great if one could select a "safest route" option which may not necessarily be the quickest. PLEASE.

Reroute traffic from Penelope Avenue in Middle Village Queens
Avoid directing cars onto Penelope Avenue in Middle Village, Queens from Metropolitan Ave and Juniper Vally Blvd. The latter two streets are much better suited for high traffic volume, particularly during rush hour. When drivers are directed to Penelope by Waze, it creates backup as the street is not designed to accommodate the same amount of two way traffic, and has also increased traffic related incidents as a result.

enabled / disabled toll roads
I have a suggestion for the development of the program.
In Hungary, you can expect county (county) highway stickers. It is not mandatory to purchase a highway sticker for the entire country. It would be a useful function if it were possible to mark in the program which toll roads of the given country the user is allowed to use. For example, if I have a sticker for the counties of Pest, Heves, Borsod-Abaúj Zemplén and Hajdú-Bihar, I could use these sections of the M3 and M35 when going to Nyíregyháza, but before entering the county of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg, the navigation…1 vote
