Rearrange layout of route choices
When I click on "ROUTES", the layout is so dumb that there is more space for the cute graph than the actual road names. So, for example, if I have to follow one same street in the 3 different options, I only see the name of that street so the 3 different options look the same. I would like to know more about each route, and I think there could be less space affected to the cute graph.
Right now it's like half the screen for the graph and I simply don't think that's necessary.

Update map
There are no speed cameras or red light cameras in Cleveland. They got voted out a year or two ago. Please remove them from the map. Also, just because there are cones on the side of the road does not mean road works head. There is always construction but when I try to make X it out it never goes away, its all ways saying road works when it's just normal conditions with some barrels lined up off to side (i-77 and i-480) area.

restore roads on map
When you zoom out too far on the latest version, all of the roads disappear. This is just weird and not how a map should work. The major roads should remain regardless of how far out you zoom.

More info when creating username
I'm trying to create a username. I've selected one and when I hit Next, it tells me the username is too short. The app gives no information as to what is a valid username, so I'm stuck guessing until one works. The app should be better here.

No adverts for businesses when we type in the desired location.
I definitely do not wish to visit Just Tires instead of my family reunion. I almost clicked the advert no thinking but will delete the application if this is a problem for me in the future. I get you need to make money but tricking us is not the way. Shame on you WAZE

Safe drive Motivators
Alongside with the pop-up commercials that appear once I stop on traffic light or something, you can occasionally add some "Safe Drive" motivators, like: "Slow down, somebody waits you back home". You know, to make people think for a sec about how they act on the road.

choose navigation type on navigation screen and on route picker
To switch between Shortest or Fastest you have to go into settings->navigation->type and choose shortest or fastest. I often switch between these modes when picking my route so it would make sense to have that option available in the same screen as where the routes are chosen AND on the "navigate to" screen.

"Prefer Freeways" instead of "Avoid Tolls"
Currently, you can set Waze to 'avoid tolls' which is handy - but this prevents Waze from recommending tollways when there is traffic on the freeway. For example, in Dallas we have 635 and 635 Express. Both follow the exact same path, the only difference is the express lanes cost around $5. It would be very nice if Waze would prefer the freeway, but still recommend the tollway if there is significant traffic reported on the freeway.
Also, Waze seems to have trouble telling if I am on the freeway or tollway, since they are basically right next to each…

The new version constantly crashes, much slower to update the direction, near the end of trip, the photo suggestion covers the screen

Logging Options on Waze (distance, driving time, gas costs)
It would be great that Waze could log some data about your trip.
So you could include a kind of dashboard that could display your speed, average speed, distance driven, a kind of trip distance resetable by user, as well a fuel logging calculator.
The fuel logging calculator should enable you to register the price spent and the ammount of fuel you've filled. This would be great for drivers to make some stats in order to reduce costs.26 votes -

New isn't better
I don't mind the update with the interface change but things like reporting a stopped car or accident on the "other side" was useful. Now you can only do that with pigs. The new bubble format takes longer than the old style to pop up.

Add "day planner". This could be similar in functionality as "route planner", only with multiple stops.
Imagine having a day of errand running, maybe you need to input the order that you must visit each location, or maybe you don't care which place you visit next.
If you don't care, then it would be nice to have a feature where I add in my 4 stops that I have to make in a day, then late waze tell me which route is most efficient for time savings and/or distance/gas usage.

Set existing favorite as "Home" or "Work"
Right now, you can only set "Home" and "Work" by searching for an address. Most of the time, New Zealand (and I'm guessing other international addresses too) do not return an accurate result.
The work around is to create another two favorites called home and work that are based off GPS position and use those.
As a user, it would simply make sense for Waze to allow me to set a favorite as my "home" or "work".
