Waze needs to understand letter streets in cities (e.g. N St. is not North St.)
In cities all over, letter streets are common. Waze consistently voices N St. as North St., S St. as South St., etc. I guarantee you, in 99% (at least) of cities, N followed by St. will always be N St. not North St.

Allow push notifications for hazards or police. I tend to lock my phone by habit and I don't find out about them until it's too late.

Locking against editing sucks
The locking against editing of streets is very annoying. On my way to work (about 30km) i found more than 10 errors, and very often I'm not allowed to correct them. It is too complicated to set an unlock request before being allowed to edit. So how can your maps improve if the normal user is not able to correct map errors?

I would love to see the ability to plot a holiday lights display on the map.
I'd like o be able to plot the great holiday lights displays in my area so I can tell other Wazers about them. Additionally one could have Waze plot a lights tour path to follow.

Need a practice mode. Why? Read on...
After using it for couple of months, I still trying to get used to using it.
One thing I wish it have is a practice mode where we can play around with it and make traffic reports.
Yes, I know there are online instructions on how to use Waze.
Why?
Some people like me like to play around with it. If we have a chance to play around with it, we can get used to using it.
That way, when we drive, we already know what we are doing.
As it is now, I sometimes have to take my eyes…

Privacy: Exposure Minimization Technique
A nice privacy enhancement would be to set this up so that when you are within a half mile, or (even better) within a user defined radius of your destination, to automatically go invisible. Another alternative would be to set it up so that if Δ(X,Y) is all within a small area - such as 10 feet to the toilet and 10 feet back (for those that can’t let go of the phone) that the client stops reporting user data.
I understand that the 2 minute delay is a way of mitigating privacy… However, my wife got home last night…

Please consider adding the number of drivers to the traffic speed display. The greater number of drivers the greater the confidence in the speed displayed. Conversely if a speed along a corridor is based on only a few drivers the accuracy is questionable.

A more credible alert...
The following factors would give a "certainty" rating to each report:
* Number of wazers ahead of me (within .5-2 miles)
* Number of minutes since the alert was posted
* Number of "thanks" attached to report
* Whatever logic Waze uses to determine more credible users...15 votes -
Repetitive Alerts Should be Summarized
Recently, I was using Waze on Northbound I-280 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The traffic was pretty bad. Waze is pretty popular around here and folks were reporting the bad traffic. So much so in fact that you could barely see the map. It seems to me that if you have more than two or three people basically reporting the same thing (in this case stopped traffic) you can simply summarize and say "multiple bad traffic reports" or some such. The current extremely cluttered screen is basically useless.
In this case, I was using an iPhone, but I think…

It would be nice if the GPS would shut off when you reach your destination.

The time to reply when asked if hazard or police were at location. Need to add 10-15 second. Usually run out of time before hitting button.
The time to reply when asked if hazard or police were at location is too short Need to add 10-15 second. Usually run out of time before hitting button. People are going to drop way points a few seconds after the obstacle usually.

No need to show the route I have ALREADY travelled, just the part I am going to travel
I got really confused for a bit today when somehow I was looking at where I had ALREADY travelled. There is no need to show the part of the route I already traversed. There is only the need to show where I am going.
