Lane Guidance
While using Waze on highways lately, I have begun to think that having the ability to see what lane becomes the off ramp would be great, especially in complex city interchanges.
Great news! The Lane Guidance feature is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Agreed on this; surprised it isn't a hazard type already. If nothing else if I know that the *right* lane is closed I can merge over early and avoid fighting with other road users who have never heard of a zipper (far too common.)

I notice that there are large fluctuations in the traffic in certain lanes at certain places in certain times of day, days of week etc. If waze knew what lane you are in you could use that information to make recommendations as to the best lane for the moment. If you just add a multi lane attribute on a road segment when you are driving on that segment (if you have the option enabled) you would get a prompt to input what lane you are now in, after which waze could use the map, speed and accelerometer data to detect lane changes and prompt for confirmation. You could even help on the client end with a lane change calibration option. Invaluable as sticking to one lane compared to strategically changing at the right time can save a lot of time, even more on long commutes

Ability to notify of lane closures and mowing would be nice. Especially lane closures..that way you can get off hiway ahead of time if need be.

I missed ALOT of turns and intersection because i did not know what lane to take (or did not change lanes in time..)...
also in my country there's those overly complicated multiple exits (from highway) at the same place - lane guidance is crucial here... -

This is very usefull. The OpenScreetMaps project has this information and the OsmAnd navigator use it to indicate what lane do you neet to stay.

at the least distinguish lanes vs carpool
and keep SEPARATE traffic for carpool

I have iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and as its a bigger screen and faster chip I think waze should create lane assist like Tom toms. This would be big but could be completed by wazers on editor for points, it would soon catch up. Lane assist can tell you which lane to use for a direction.

The voice guidance isn't always very useful. The road divided into 3, and the message indicated something different that what the map showed

Maybe a extra variable for each road:
Number of Lanes : 2
would be a good idea and a option, were you can set:
off ramp lanes right :1
off ramp lanes left : 0
