Lane closure reports made easy
I'd like a report button that would indicate lane closures.
Could press to report the beginning of the lane closure, then press again to report the end.
Then you indicate whether it's the left, right, or center lane.

We plan to work on having an option to report a lane closure in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

Construction has lanes closed all the time, but there is only a "paving" option, which does not always apply. I80 is down to ONE lane in Nebraska with the entire side closed, but no way to mark it. I70 is down to two lanes in Colorado due to construction. Some sort of construction warning for users to avoid would be helpful.

Maybe app does not let you report road closure based on reporting because it would be abused by people who do not want cars going through neighborhood. But app could look at how many cars are turning around, lack of traffic, and wazers not taking route suggested during specific time period to figure out that road is closed.

The way waze is set up; first I have to tell it there is construction, then tell it which direction of which intersection is closed, and you want me to do this while driving. Make it easier. There should be an easy button for I cannot go the way you are telling me anymore because of construction; one button to select, that's all.

On multi lane highways, it would be useful to know when and which lanes are closed (for construction) or obstructed (collision etc).

No error at that location, but in general. We can say when a vehicle is stopped on the road or on the shoulder, but not on the median. It would be a nice addition to choose the median as well so drivers know to get over a lane. It is not only a common courtesy, but also a safety precaution. My next suggestion is being able to say when roads are under construction and inform drivers of lane closures, not only if the road itself is closed. Thank you.

Ik kan de optie niet vinden om een afgesloten rijstrook te melden (qua veiligheid vaak belangrijker dan een stilstaand voertuig op de vluchtstrook).

If you’re stuck in traffic jam due to lane closure, can’t see the sign showing which lane is closed, you could have the ability to indicate a left or right closure, let’s you get in the correct lane early.

Like with "paving" new road segment. Seem functionality is there already, this is long overdue. Currently I report construction at every highway entrance so those entering know construction is a head. This feature would prevent multiple reports, and improve routing!

Perhaps have more than one arrow to report road closures. There are several that point in various directions but only for a block or less. There isnt anyway to indicate the length of the closure for multiple blocks. And its tedious to submit a report multiple times. Maybe offer the option to drag the arrow to indicate the length of the closure or multiple arrows in the same direction to add additional blocks to the report or an optional comments section/text field to specify the length of the closure.

Add User-Specified "Lane Closure" to be reported similar to Traffic / Hazard Reports.
If Waze has data for how many lanes exist in the area, then allow a selection based on that or a general "Left, Middle, Right" should cover the majority of cases.
Knowing which lane closes far in advance of when it happens would help DRAMATICALLY cut down on traffic jams as the workers never seem to put the portable "Lane Closed" signs far enough ahead of the closure (and they certainly don't try to move them when traffic builds).

It would be great if they added arrows to all surrounding streets instead of just a couple as sometimes if your stuck in a road closure area and can’t get back out to the street you can’t put on a road closure in that area.
I think this would help immensely and be effective for road closures going on earlier and easier

When there is an accident, letting others know what lane is closed ahead would be helpful for merging purposes to know which lane to get/stay in.

A tree fell across a major road in front of my building. I tried reporting the resulting closure both ways but could not because it’s not on a rout. When reporting closures, especially while not moving, there should be an option to report on any intersection.

This should be RTTR - like RTC but for TR, right?

Have the ability to mark which lane is closed in a construction zone, accident area, etc. so other drivers can prepare to merge before the last minute since most zones are so poorly marked

@bedo2991 - exactly
I have 5 examples where this mechanism is necessary (or handy to have). Mostly due to restrictions while roadworks or works on the shoulder are performed, the driving restrictions are hard to implement, without workarounds and vandalism the base-map. -

I tried to indicate a barred road section in the map, and the options Waze offered were just unusable. Lost of arrows to inducate which ways it is impossible to go... about 4 would have had to be used... nonsense. There should be a black line (bar) which the user could place ACROSS the road that is closed and the software could take care of the rest. The closure in question was a road broken up for about 3 days due to a pipe change. Please help.

You mean having Realtime Closures for turns, correct?

When will Waze show school road closures?
Lack of information about these seem to be causing problems in Croydon UK

It may be difficult to implement, but a Time-Based-Turn-Closure would be really helpful during construction works. How many times are you obliged to UNKISS segments because crossing through the roadworks is not allowed? So like a closure mechanism but then on node TR.
