I was big into ways a while back, just got a new phone and mount for my car and thought I'd get back into it. At one point I even put two roads and a parking lot on the map. I loaded it on my new phone and logged in all my points and everything looks great. then Facebook popped up, I immediately close the app and uninstalled it, what happened.

I could have more people use waze more often (ad revenue for waze) if this feature were turned back on.

I already switched to share my position with WhatsApp.
... I know, this is Facebook too, but it is fairly easier and much more stable than using Waze.

How can I let family track my location with out sending ETA (driving) and also with out letting facebook know (dont want to get robbed while out of town)?

Absolutely ridiculous. Maybe waze can understand that nobody trusts Facebook after all that was revealed about the data breaches.
Change it back. One app has nothing to do with the other!

The feature used to be there to add users based on their waze login. Now only facebook available. What a joke!!!! None of the contacts I connected with have facebook.

Add the feature back please.

I am not a fan of facebook. I do not use facebook although I have a facebook account. PLEASE fix this asinine problem!

This is not good! I carpool and the person I need to connect with doesn’t do Facebook and has no intentions of doing so. Now I have no idea where he is other than when he initially sends me his ETA. This SUCKS. We are now searching for a diff app to use.

Remove this requirement, return my friends and re-enable the ETA feature to non-facebook users.

I'd like to even be able to add friends AT ALL. so far all I get are six fb friends i rarely see, no option to add others. my husband is on fb and waze and is my fb friend but waze does not allow me to add him as a friend in any way. He has me as a waze friend and can send etas but i have to find him in my contacts every time to send a notification.

Did FB purchase waze or something?!? WTF. Bring back friends by contacts.

Agree totally, loose functionality or be forced to use Facebook? No thank you. Waze is an excellent navigator, but this is a big downgrade. Like many Waze - users, I don't have facebook and refuse to have it. Like more than this group, I have friends outside facebook that I want to share a drive with occasionally also.

You can connect to my contacts - I can see that when I want to send ETA. Please all me to connect with other wazers without forcing me to give you all of my facebook friends. That's never going to happen.

Google...retire Waze or incorporate it into Google maps. Facebook does not need to know where I am all of the time
