Truck route option
I use Waze everyday both on my commute to work and once I'm working (driving a semi around Chicagoland and all burbs within 50 miles or so). It would be nice to have an option to navigate truck routes when needed but then shut it off for when I'm in my car. MANY streets don't allow trucks due to weight or low overpasses, etc. Just a thought to help fellow truckers avoid getting in a bind! Maybe even reporting ability to post height/weight restrictions on certain roads...

Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

I don't drive a semi but I do drive a tall van. If we could identify our vehicle height so you could direct us off roads where we don't fit... awesome

Waze for truck, please

As they expand build out commercial spaces near residential homes, we’ve been getting more lost truckers driving through unsafe streets that they shouldn’t be. It’s becoming a problem since a lot of them are getting close to cars, houses, power lines and children playing. Speed limits in these areas is often times below 20mph.
Waze and other gps apps should provide a filter that would only show truck safe routes so that truckers can safely navigate to their destination knowing they would only be driving on truck safe roads.

In Germany I see relatively many truckers because they are happy about the traffic jam function and other traffic data. But also since I map factories that are not in the other map services can approach the destinations better. Mostly waze runs with another navigation app along with.

I'm a South African truck driver and this option would be so much useful as we travel the country and sometimes cross country seven days a week. Information like weight bridges and height warnings and truck parking would be so useful and such a time saver.

For example, if your truck has a GVWR of more than ten thousand pounds, you'll need to stop at a weigh station (check https://pgerentals.com/ ). However, bypassing this step could result in a citation or even a fine. In addition, your vehicle must have a DOT number on both sides. If you don't have this, you'll have to stop at a state inspection station.

Just start adding vehicle size and weight, and a button to easy send map info in case the vehicle cannot pass. The community will then do the mapping.

there should be a special format for trucks and easier routes for large trucks... many times Waze sends me to make curves of more than 90 degrees and with trucks that measure 10 meters or more. Please help us truckers with a special format mainly for the difficult routes for these large and heavy vehicles. I live in Costa Rica, Central America. It would be very useful to help us with some improvement of the application. Thank you.

That it would be possible to configure the routes with a truck, in order to use paths where the vehicle can pass without difficulty.

Waze has been a great app to use both private and for work only problem is I work all around London and it's so hard nowerdays to get around without coming across width and height restrictions.even them stupid flower pots that block most of the main ways into back streets from a main road it would be great if they added all that in I would happily pay for something like that too .

Marked "not right now" back on Sep 25, 2019.
So how about now? 3 years later?
I sometime pull a travel travel and recently traveled Saw River Parkway (NY). i was without my trailer and knew I was safe since I have traveled that way many times. However, an unfortunate soul would get clobbered by the 8' clearance on one of the underpasses.
