1. Improve vertical UI on iPhone

   Please fix the vertical user interface on iPhone! It is a complete mess, with large blacked out areas unnecessarily blocking the useful map space, therefore limiting our map vision and app experience, also the shortcuts or pop-ups are difficult to reach/click. Moreover, it doesn’t show a green line when entering part of the road under avg speed radar control. It should be an easy fix, just look at the carplay version, or maybe take ideas from google or apple maps. I am literally switching to other map providers because I have a terrible experience of using waze in vertical mode.

2. One touch notices

   I have been a loyal wazer for years and use the Apple CarPlay interface. These are my suggestions:
   A) The main screen should have THREE one touch HOT BUTTONS:
   1) Object on road
   2) Vehicle on Shoulder
   3) Police

   It currently takes two or three clicks to achieve these 3 most common alerts. The change can use simple icons and safety would be greatly improved.

   B) When Waze re-routes me, it needs to give more explanation. Examples:
   1) “Re-routing due to accident mile marker 204”
   2) “Re-routing due to traffic saving 10 minutes”
   3) “Re-routing due to construction”

3. Recent Changes resulted in worse routes

   I commute to NYC daily through crazy greater NYC traffic and Waze saved me time by always great routes. Whatever changes have been implemented over the last few months have completely ruined the route selection, or criteria used to determine the routes. They are often wrong, sending me far out of my way. But when I run Apple Maps in parallel with WAZE to test these routes, they are always incorrect and take longer. The product was perfect and made me switch from MAPS. Now performance is so bad I need to switch back to MAPS in order not to waster my time.

   Fix android automotive - Apple car play Waze map disappearing on center wheel screen if not on tablet

   Only Google map is working, and not as great yet as Waze for EV except EV recharge calculations and suggestion.
   This is really annoying, from security perspective, wish to switch radio, on tablet, map disappear on cwnterwheel display.
   Constantly have to get back to tablet radio, change station, back to CarPlay, Waze, reset center wheel console to display Google map.
   Worst if you select Google map, it disable automatically Waze on tablet and cancel trip.
   Make it work or keep independent.
   Been over 1.5 year and still no fix, seems not interested to change!

6. Some report suggestions, vehicle options, route options for the Waze Team

   Just some ideas please address:

   • the thanks and not there options for apple car play to not automatically disappear until 2 miles approx. distance passed(or provide an option for the user to change that delay) beyond the reported icon there is some delay in when they appear

   • A new icon for the flooding hazard, as well as blueing a path to show on gps and gps to warn or detour upon suddenly appearing at some point in calculating route before after during etc

   • Allowing users start/ end of long traffic icon , include system detection for drivers driving really slow prompt them the option to answer why?
   * if user reports hard traffic jam for waze for that person only to receive a recalculated route
   **continuously recalculated as more waze users use that option

   • Allow users who pass through lengthened traffic/flood/ accident/construction/etc. to confirm completion with a button OR drag a line upon pressing a start point with a color reflecting the respective hazard/ system to detect the completion via speed on highways/streets doing same highlight work without user input but done automatically

   • A new vehicle type for trucks and another for commercial vehicles (not all commercial vehicles are trucks and some ppl fear being near them otherwise I would say just trucks)

   • options to
   avoid turnpikes - some ppl have a preference
   avoid parkways - nyc does nt allow commercial travel through here
   avoid bridges - fear of heights
   avoid tunnels - claustrophobia, fear of tight spaces

   Please change freeways or add avoid highways as not all highways are freeways the language is confusing.

   Just some ideas please address:

7. CarPlay - no warnings when Waze is not on full screen

   I have issue to report with Waze running on BMW iDrive8 head unit. Waze stops giving voice alerts if it is not on full screen or if I use split screen between Waze and Apple Music. Even though I have Waze opened in the instrument cluster, it does not give any voice warning if it is not full screen on the main unit. Please fix that. I don't want having Waze everywhere on my screens in order to receive voice alerts. If I have it opened on my instrument cluster, this alone should be enough to receive voice alerts, I don't want to duplicate Waze on the main unit for that.

8. Drive time inaccurate (too long)

   Hi! I’ve been using waze for many years primarily in Los Angeles. It’s always been relatively accurate at predicting drive time. However lately the drive time I’m getting is significantly longer than it actually takes and it’s often routing me out of my way to the freeway to save time when, in actuality, the more direct through town route is faster. I’ve been comparing it against Google Maps and Apple Maps, both of which have been much more accurate. So question is… what changed? As a long time Waze user, I like the app and don’t want to have to change apps. But I need my drive time and route predictions to be more accurate.

9. Adding prohibited signs

   Is it possible to add prohibited signs like no left turn no u turn or right turn no left turn/u turn signs so people would know where to turn and stuff so that way they’re not lost and confused and that includes durning specific times like 7am-4pm Monday through Friday for example at an intersection that does not allow it on the map display wether it’s on your smartphone or in your car infotainment system because a lot of new cars these days have wireless apple carplay and android auto and I would like it if it alerted you ahead of time so that way you get a head start and not slam on the brakes all of a sudden at the last minute

10. Reliability

    I have found that Waze is the most unstable of the three major navigation platforms, which include Apple and Google Maps. It routinely has trouble figuring out where one is starting from which causes the map to freeze while the navigation continues. It also consistently either stops working (loses the route, or begins to submit random, rapidfire directions which are all incorrect). This seems to mostly happen in urban settings. While trying to get our dog to cancer treatment in Boston, your navigator went off the rails, forcing me to pull over in traffic and go to another option to get there on time. Some of your features are unique and helpful, but you really need to work on reliability, which is pretty awful.

    Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

12. Notifications - Moving modal and/or providing users with ability to "X" out of notifications

    In Apple Carplay, Waze notifications pop up and push the directions modal into a small bar with no information except what kind of turn and how far away it is. It removes the worded directions and has made me miss my turn plenty of times. There is no option to "X" out of the notification, only answer "Still there" or "Not still there", but what if I haven't reached the area yet so I can't accurately answer the prompt but need to see my directions? As someone who drives with the sound off in Waze, I'm requesting to provide users with an "X" in the top right of notifications modals and to either move the notifications modal or make it smaller so I can read the directions.

13. Various suggestions taken from other systems

    Hello everyone,
    after a period where I have been a passenger of friends and colleagues ( due to surgery   ) I decided to write down what, in my opinion, can be insights to further improve this navigation system.

    As a first suggestion ( I copy the idea from AmiGo ) is to make the indication of the speed limit and current speed more intuitive and readable by using colors inside the speedometer. The idea of verbally indicating the speed of speed cameras can also be very helpful.

    The second point I would like to suggest ( this time the idea comes from Apple Map ) is to display traffic lights on the map and use their location to give more detailed voice directions.

    The latest idea ( I don't remember the name of the application ) is to use the phone's camera ( if the phone is properly positioned ) with the ADAS and TSR algorithm to automatically update the map likes speed limits, closed roads, etc. 
    To be honest, this last function was communicated but I never saw it in operation.

14. Fix calendar sync on iPhone!!

    Calendar sync used to work on my iPhone but now it's gone. I rely on this for my job which is made up of driving to many daily appointments. All my upcoming jobs were nicely listed on my main screen, then that vanished so I went to "planned drives" to find them, and now nothing is there except a screen telling me to sync my calendar but it's already switched on with all my calendars selected! Now I have to go to my calendar, click the appointment, tap the address, tap "open in Waze", click the correct location, then "find routes", and finally "go now." What used to be two taps is now like 10. PLEASE fix this! It's literally the only reason I use Waze over Apple Maps.

16. Car Play Addition

    Greetings,
    I’ve been using the Waze App on my phone for years. I recently started using Waze through Apple Car Play in my new vehicle.
    While I’m enjoying it, I am missing one feature that is on my phone app.
    That feature is being able to see the “turn by turn” directions.
    All I’m able to see on the Car Play version is the next turn.
    I’ve become used to being able to look ahead and see where Waze is sending me.
    While I can pull out my phone a see the “turn by turn” directions, that defeats the safety of Car Play and takes my eyes and hands away from where they should be.
    I truly hope you are considering adding this feature in the future.

19. Fix “add a stop”

    This isn’t a new idea, just a quality of life update that needs to happen. Please fix the add a stop search feature that will not just look for any option fitting the search description but the closest on the route and display or notify how much time is added to the trip. If I am in a new area and I am looking for a particular food stop or something, say srarbucks for this example, every stratbucks in the usa comes up in the search but they aren’t sorted by the closest on the route but rather anything any where. When you are driving and trying to add this without needing to backtrack or guess if it’s on the route, it’s impossible and very distracting. 9/10 I close Waze and open apple maps to perform this and reopen waze after my stop.
    Again, this is picking the fly poo from the pepper but this is something that need some love.

20. Need A View Shared Drive Option While Using CarPlay

    The green-ish “View Shared Drive” button that normally appears on the right side of the screen does not appear while connected to Apple CarPlay. Currently, the only way to view a drive that has been shared with you is to disconnect from CarPlay, which is very frustrating. I am on a road trip with family in which we are driving two separate vehicles, and it would be very useful to be able to view a shared drive on my CarPlay screen to see where the rest of the family is and what their ETA is.

    And while we’re at it, can we bring back the old “trip progress meter” that showed your progress and ETA versus a friend’s if you were both navigating to the same location and shared the drive with each other? That was one of the coolest and best Waze features of all time, so I’m not sure why it was taken away.
