Add "avoid side streets" option
In certain neighborhoods, side street routes are unsafe and not necessarily faster than sticking with the main drag: nothing like having to wait with 3 of my fellow Wazers while an onstreet drug deal concludes in front of us (side street alternative route directed by Waze in NE DC). Or maybe just add "Drug deal in progress" to the notifications?

Don't release versions that are buggier than previous ones!
Noam Bardin, you should be ashamed of yourself. Since I updated 2 days ago this App has crashed more times since then than it has in the whole 2 years I have used it!
It is especially bad when using the camera feature, never mind the constant (chopped off screen) display issues as well.
I implore you to please do us all a favour Noam & sort this debacle out post haste. Start by showing the person responsible for green lighting this latest release the door & then ensure that you replace them with someone competent, thank you.

Direct navigation to destination
Referring to the app’s developers - you can use google’s api in order to navigate to a user’s destination automatically (with long and lat). Can be very useful especially when using the mic while driving.

A few user stories for supporting BEV / electromobility in Waze
Dear Wazers,
I have been using your product far before "the Google times." When I first downloaded Waze, the road to my home was not "Wazed-paved" yet, so I had to pave it myself :). Anyway, that's not what I'm writing you about. I want to extend a request to you through a few user stories, which would significantly enhance my electromobility driving experience. I hope you're already thinking in that direction, and we'll see enhancements for BEV (battery-electric vehicles) soon.
There're plenty of elecromobile-specific apps, but Waze is my current choice for a guidance app. As such, I…

Mixed routing strategy (Fastest, shortest, economical,... and others to come)
The "best" route is often a matter of personnal compromise.
It's often a mix of fastest, shortest, and more and more road cost / fuel economy.
I suggest we add a "Mixed" routing strategy, that could follow our preferences. We could think of a system starting with 100 points that the user would share among the different "strategies" of routing.
For instance, one could set :
* Fastest : 50 points
* Shortest : 30 points
* Economy : 20 points. That has the big advantage to allow other routing strategy for future.
* Less traffic lights : 5…29 votes -
'Lets get started'
I usually activate Waze while I'm still at bedroom (morning) or in the office (at EOD) so I can use the WIFI and review the route before getting in the car.
In both cases, I don't want to wake up my souse and kids in the morning nor notify the whole office that I'm leaving soon, but the starting navigation notice sound "Route is ready, let's get started" does just that !!
There's really no need for that so it should be totally removed or at least allow the user to disable it permanently, without the need to…1 vote -
Airport interactive app
Love your map. And Im great at telling other people what to do. Most people panic about how early to get to an airport. What about an interactive app for people to report how busy the airport is. Each terminal, each airline. Lines long or short? Long term parking at x is wide open. Come in from thw east cuz west is backed up. I know you get the idea. Do me a favor and start with Sky Harbor. Lol

Lock the route
Once WAZE sets the initial route, let me press a button to lock the directions so they don't change while I'm en route. Often if I'm driving on a freeway (in LA) I will get random instructions to "make a U-turn (on the 405?)" or to turn on some surface street. I assume its because the app is re-calculating as I go or doesn't recognize that I did take the correct off-ramp, but these unnecessary commands are distracting and its hard to tell which are valid and which are not. Obviously if I DO make a mistake in following…

Include street name of next turn in list view
Please include the name of the street that you're turning on when looking down at the direction view of the app. It shows the next turn as being right, but you don't know the name of the street you're turning right onto!

version 4.0
Like the new look, but: 1. Streets look too wide, they look like they've been skeched with a thick marker by a 5 year old. G-maps has a much cleaner look. 2. The zoom-in distance is too high, street names outside route are not visible, also street names are not very visible even without navigating.3. Night mode is extremely GREY, hard to distinguish streets (the night mode on 3.9.6 was way better, change it or let users choose between more options, right now i'm keeping it on day mode all the time), and only two colour schemes wich by the…

Support event driven notitfications to zapier or ifttt
It would be nice Waze could attach to other systems with events via for example zapier and/or ifttt. Events that I think of:
Starts navigation to 'lat/lon' (bookmarkname)
Arrives at destination
Is in traffic
Shares route
Is 1 hours, half hour, 15 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes away from its destinationLogs drive (from/to, starttime/endtime, distance traveled, (compressed) gpx attached.
This way everybody could easily make rules like
log {all} journeys to a google spreadsheet.
Or share my drive easily on facebook, twitter, etc.
Or, when I go {home} between {16:00} and {19:00} share that drive with {spouse}.

Get directions from Map Coordinates
Hi,
My name is Adrian Șulumberchean and I am the developer of Map Coordinates Android App (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=sands.mapCoordinates.android&referrer=utm_source%3Dwaze_suggestion). Inside Map Coordinates, I used a "Get Directions" option which takes the user to a third party navigation app and navigates him to the chosen location.
At the moment I use this url to open Google Maps Navigation: "http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=&daddr=45.1234,25.1234". Can you please also accept this url so that users will be able to navigate with any app they want?
Kind regards,
Adrian Şulumberchean
Soft Stack Dev1 voteThank you for your suggestion! As you may already know, Waze supports GPS coordinates as destination.

Plan for multiple routes using the map
Planner is a nice feature. Though, there are times you want to visit a place and check out multiple routes before hand. Not just three generated routes. These routes I can change by touching a street and boom a new route shows up. This isn’t the same as adding a stop, it is more like Changing direction. I find that figuring out 5 different routes makes it interesting on driving that direction even though it may be longer. Then I save the route with a name. Then the next day I pick the route. Of course, Waze should still…

reports of "Missing bridge overpass"
As I am editing maps I see a lot of user reports of "Missing bridge overpass".
Usually, there is nothing I can do about the report because I don't see any sign of a Missing bridge overpass anywhere nearby.
Sometimes I can tell that the road has an intersection that should be an overpass with no intersection and I can fix that.I suggest that there are three major categories of things needing to be reported:
1) immediate traffic problems due to movable objects.
a) traffic problems
b) hazards
2) long term problems due to changes in permissible traffic

temporary places
I've seen a number of places meant to be temporary. For example "Jones-Smith Wedding" or "Start of xxx Bike Race." Having those is probably helpful both to participants and also helps advertise Waze. All that would be needed is a new category and an expiration date.
There is already a suggestion for "ad hoc" places but I don't think the name quite conveys the idea.

Speedometer disappears on Android alAuto
Speedometer and speed limit disappears randomly on Android Auto.
Sometimes the problem can be solved by stopping, and changing zoom level by buttons that appear in place of the speedometer. This is not a GPS issue, as navigation works fine at the same time.
Seems to be triggered by Android Auto started after Waze, or Android Auto restarted when Waze is running (head unit restarts when I start the engine). But I'm not 100% sure.

[Feature Request] Moving Lane Guidance (See Example)
It would be nice if we could have moving lane guidance to make things a little clearer.
Waze is sometimes too slow or unclear/confusing to give me a direction on the road, causing me to miss a turn.
TomTom Go does this exceptionally well and I would love to see this implemented in Waze.
Sharing this on the forum for visibility. I also posted it to the Waze Suggestion Box on Uservoice.2 votes -
Add a delivery mode
People who work in delivery have Waze connected to the company's app that sends the location of every delivery destination to Waze. They go to dozens of destinations every day. Every click counts and it would be useful to have a mode in Waze where there is no need to TWICE confirm the route every time I start a new one. After switching to "Delivery nice" Waze would show the navigation to the destination (coordinates sent from other app) straight away. Thanks.
