Adding a Stop
Hello. I would like to suggest that Waze add the feature of choosing a stop along a primary destination route with options based on distance and minutes off of the primary route, similar to Google Maps. For example, I want to add a stop at Starbucks on the way to Target, and Waze only gives me the option of distance, not the minutes off it will take me.

My idea is for the waze app. I was using my waze and while I was driving and I stopped at a stop light. Waze asked me if I was stuck in traffic cause it noticed that I'm not moving and it doesn't let me say ithat im stuck at a red light.

AI
Improving artificial intelligence to make new routes based on the passage of other drivers and the prevailing weather conditions. Additionally, it can take into account multiple journeys by one user. As well as the average travel time of other drivers.

rotate the map when stopped to know which direction to go
Rotate the map by rotating the phone. Currently there is only the option to rotate the vehicle indicator, it should have the option to rotate the map when pointing the phone in the direction you are going, so it would be easier to know which direction to go when you leave, as you only realize that you are going in the wrong direction after walking a few meters.

The older Waze interface was better.
The older Waze interface was better in the sense that I could see the stop button and access icons easier.. The new one has smaller type, not friendly for those that are far sighted... Especially when driving, the larger icons are better. But the stop navigation button should be right on the screen not hidden... The MOST annoying thing is that it hijacks me by automatically navigating me home by default. Even worse since it's connected to my stereo via blue tooth so my music is interrupted, and without an easy access stop button it's a pain in the butt…

Put the avoid freeways option on the route page. Stop hiding it.
Avoid Freeways option needs to be moved to the routes page. Make it as easy for us to change as the avoid tolls is.
Right now you have it buried and it takes a few clicks to get to it. And we all know that Waze does not give alternative routes UNLESS Avoid Freeways is turn off.

Sidekicks
Allow to have sidekicks not give directions. I love hearing street names. Sidekicks can speak when no directions are given. Such as on long roads, when stopped, etc.

Alerting when a school bus is stopped with the stopped arm out
I would like it if waze lets people know when a school bus is stopped when the stopped arm is out/red lights flash because I hear too many close calls with kids getting hit while getting on and off the school bus

permanent editor mood
I think you should create a level one editor mood that is permanent for inactive, former, or periodic editors. I enjoyed having the robot even after I stopped editing but because Waze changed the way those levels are granted and kept, I've been demoted for inactivity and stripped of the robot. So, Waze keeps the 5,000+ edits I did over the years but you gave me and any other editor the indignity of stripping us of a mood, something that costs them nothing. Rather than give access to the high-value moods to editors that have lost favor of Waze, why…

Street names covering the turn on the road
When the car needs to turn, the street name goes over the turning or corner line. You then can't see which turning you need to take if multiple roads you could turn down or a lane to get into. This is since an update early in 2025

Reliability
I have found that Waze is the most unstable of the three major navigation platforms, which include Apple and Google Maps. It routinely has trouble figuring out where one is starting from which causes the map to freeze while the navigation continues. It also consistently either stops working (loses the route, or begins to submit random, rapidfire directions which are all incorrect). This seems to mostly happen in urban settings. Add a Help feature for people that are in trouble
Add a feature, where if a different wazer needs help, changing a tire, or needs any other kind of help, they should be able to report it on the map, so that anyone else in the route could stop by and help them.

Needs to show and CALL OUT stop signs and traffic lights as needed for turns.
In addition to showing stop signs and lights, call them out as needed for turns (instead of the distance). Apple Maps actually does a good job with this, a good example to follow.

reporting vehicles on the side of the road
when reporting a vehicle on the side of the road, if the "vehicle stopped" icon were on the second screen and not buried, would be safer. 5 user inputs vs. a possible 3 - less time looking away from the road and at the map/device
