1. gives users more info when they report map issues

   Hi.
   i want to say that at one time I reported a road closure, and when entering the options, I only saw the addition of a "comment". I wanted to include the street name so that the report would be clear, but I had to go out again, read the street name, and return to the report again! Can you imagine these steps while I am driving the vehicle? It's kinda complicated. I suggest adding a screen below the report "whatever kind" that shows you your location, the names of the streets around you, and the directions. "In order to be able to report the information correctly," you must have the correct tools and keys.

2. Waze on windows for ARM

   Hello, I hope you're doing well. I've been in logistics for a long time, and we've all alwasy used Windows tablets. Now, we have the Surface Pro 9 with 5G and Windows on ARM. Could you please consider releasing a version for Windows on ARM? This would allow us to use it while mobile, and it could become the only navigation app on Windows, potentially attracting a large client base.

3. adding no commercial plates filter

   Allowing a filter for choosing passenger cars only routes or commercial vehicles allowed. This would be helpful to plan routes and side routes avoiding parkways or roads in the NYC area which do not allow commercial plated vehicles on those roads

4. Show Maximum Limit when moving a segment - The highlighted object has been moved beyond the allowed distance

   When we move a segment by a distance that Waze considers too large, WME does not allow us to save the changes.

   Problem: We waste a lot of time drawing the street and adjusting it, and when we go to save it, WME does not allow it.

   Solution: Notify the editor when this street displacement reaches the limit so that the editor can save the segment before an error occurs when saving the edits.

5. An enhancement to weather alerts.

   Last week an extreme weather event was encountered and the vehicle was hydro planning due to torrential rainfall and right there and then Waze navigation alerted to "heavy rainfall"

   This capability for driver alerts in real time is the real genius of Waze. I love it. Can I suggest a simple enhancement - when extreme rainfall alerts are posted for a particular location by other Waze users these alerts are given to traffic that is at least 50km away from reaching this area. If drivers are encouraged in this manner to stop or delay their journey due to extreme weather events ahead the safe driving capability of Waze would be so much better.

6. Contextual road navigation elements

   Waze (so far) does not fully account for overall road context in navigation. We've (ie. my partner and I) have found it treating all roads equally when picking a route, whether urban, rural, wide, narrow, usually parrtially blocked by parked cars, etc. So, I suggest adding a set of options to the system and the navigation algorithm which allows weighting by road type. This could be selected or deselected manually by the user, with some default setting sets (ie. "Prefer Highways", "The Scenic Route", etc).

   Based on roads we've used, we suggest the following classifications:

   Highway
   Fast-moving multi-lane road with significant limitations on stopping and parking, subject to national and regional restrictions.

   Primary Thoroughfare
   Open and readily navigable, with fast-moving traffic depending on conditions. Parking may be significantly restricted.

   Secondary Thoroughfare
   Open and readily navigable, with some parked vehicles or other roadside obstructions not significantly limiting passage. Urban traffic flow may cause traffic jams or be subject to bottlenecks in places. Rural roads of this kind may lack street lighting. Roadside parking may be available based on national and regional restrictions.

   Side Road, Urban Residential
   May be narrow and/or difficult to navigate due to residential parked cars or other obstructions. Parking may be limited and subject to permit. Consider whether parking obstructs residential property access.

   Side Road, Urban Industrial
   Mostly open and navigable, with a high prevalence of industrial vehicles. There may be roadside hazards associated with industry. Consider whether roadside parking may be safe and appropriate if space seems to be available.

   Side Road, Rural Narrow
   May be insufficient for two vehicles to easily traverse side by side and may be a single-vehicle width. There may be very limited passing places. Visibility ahead may be limited due to high foliage or other peripheral vision obstructions. Passage may sometimes be obstructed by agricultural vehicles or livestock. There will be no street lights and parking is likely to be hazardous. May be particularly hazardous to navigate at night or in severely adverse weather.

   Side Road, Dirt Track
   May be hazardous to navigate without use of a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. Conditions may otherwise be similar to "Side Road, Rural Narrow".

7. Add a "Pedestrian on Side of the Road" hazard warning option available at motor vehicles reserved roads and highways

   Add an alert to inform other drivers and the Police about the presence of pedestrians on prohibited vehicles (e.g. bicycles or electric scooters) or on foot, on motorways and highways

8. Be able to interface from your phone like Apple iPhone

   I really like your app and use it every day. My frustration is that I use a Samsung Android smart phone (I am not a fan of Apple iPhone's). Apple play works very well with your app. You can control your app from the phone or the car interface (basically the car mirrors the phone). With Android play you can't control the app or view the app from your phone. All interfaces have to be on the car not the phone. Secondly if you use the app now on the car navigation screen (as I said) you can only control the app from the car and it is limited. My biggest problem is you can't drop down the future turns. On the phone if you click on the next turn, the whole trip drops down. If you try to drop down on the Android app screen, you can't get to the next turn and no way to drop down (please see attached pictures). Extremely frustrating. I use that function all the time. I'm forced to use my phone for Waze and the small screen vs the large screen in the car. I'm currently driving a 2023 Acura MDX. Please advise any solutions or if you are making any changes. Why does it work on Apple and not Android.

9. Live map (browser) - allow add drive-trough points, and save route w points to phone to use later (planned trips)

   In convenient large browser version on desktop/notebook, live map view, it is IMPOSSIBLE to handpick specific point to avoid rerouting trough other contry highway nearby etc... If someone tells me specifically i need to use some route point to pass trough, i want the ability to set it, conveniently on pc, and then share the whoule segmented route to phone - now on live map there is no way to add points to route

10. Predictive Traffic Light Data

    I have an idea that will revolutionize navigation in cities and significantly benefit Waze users - predictive traffic light data.

    By leveraging real-time GPS data from our massive user base, our app can start predicting traffic light patterns at intersections. Using algorithms to analyze when cars stop and start at lights, we can gradually build models mapping out sequences and wait times for traffic signals across entire cities.

    This would enable sending users notifications in advance whether they are likely to hit the next green or red light. They can adjust speed accordingly, eliminating unnecessary braking and idling. The benefits are immense:

11. Journey time <> motorway preference setting rather than avoid/use toggle

    When motorbiking it’s often frustrating to be stuck on a motorway when the non-motorway alternative (for a large portion of the route) is equal or similar time.

    It would be great to have an option to better blend the route. I.e a preference to non-motorway unless it makes sense for part of the route to be completed on motorway to make progress rather than the strict on/off toggle.

12. Small footprint car icon set on the iPhone

    Could you please consider to either bring back or reintroduce small footpeimt car icon set. There was very basic set of a blue, yellow or green car set, that were smaller in size and for the smaller car screens they were very ergonomic. Now with the replacement of a larger versions, map screen becomes more cluttered, larger car icon takes more space on the screen and does not bring any value just distraction. When you try to glance to the screen while driving you see big car icon first and then trying to figure out what is around the icon. Previously, with the small icons, it was easy to understand the distance to the crossroad or other map artefact. Now it is difficult to use waze as these big car icons takes attention first, it is difficult intuitevely calculate distance to the object, car icon itself overlay roads, disregards map scale. Bigger car icons woble on the route direction while driving and in such way brings unnecessary uncertainty to the route as you double check the screen. I’m not asking to bring back qny specific icons rather the give opirtuniti to chosse between large and small footprint icons. As for the reference you could check the original set of blue, green and yllow car icons. Thanks

    As a Waze volunteer editor, I’d like to suggest integrating a feature that uses official cell broadcast emergency alerts sent by governments or national agencies (such as AMBER Alerts, severe weather warnings, or public safety alerts).

    The idea is simple: when a Waze user drives into an area where a cell broadcast alert was recently sent, the app could display a notification or short message about it — even if that driver didn’t originally receive the alert on their phone because they were outside the area at the time.

    This feature could be extremely valuable in real-life situations, such as:
    • Missing or abducted persons (AMBER Alerts): Drivers might spot a vehicle or person described in the alert.
    • Severe accidents or road closures: Helps users understand unexpected congestion or hazards.
    • Public safety warnings: For example, dangerous weather events, wildfires, or police searches in specific regions.

    Waze already excels at community-based awareness, and this feature would extend that community role to public safety. It could help save lives, assist law enforcement, and make Waze even more valuable as a real-time information platform.

    To prevent spam or overload, the system could only display verified government alerts, limited by category and relevance (e.g., within 30–50 km, or active within the last few hours).

    Dear Waze Team,

    I would like to report a recurring issue with the Waze interface on Apple CarPlay, related to the ETA bar (estimated time of arrival, remaining time, and distance to destination).

    I keep the app set to automatic mode, and my vehicle has a light sensor, so the map theme correctly switches between light and dark according to ambient brightness.

    Here’s what happens:
    • When I start navigation during the day, the map is light (as expected), but when driving through darker areas (tunnels, parking lots, shaded roads, etc.), the map switches to dark mode while the ETA bar remains light.
    • When I start navigation at night (or in a dark environment), the ETA bar appears dark, but when I move into a bright area, the map becomes light while the ETA bar stays dark, without adjusting automatically.

    In other words, the ETA bar does not follow the automatic theme transition as it does in Google Maps, where the bar color changes in sync with the map — light when the map is light, and dark when the map is dark.

    I suggest standardizing the ETA bar behavior so that it follows the map’s active theme, or alternatively, keeping the bar permanently dark to ensure better visibility and visual consistency.

    Please note that this behavior is not specific to my vehicle — I have tested it in other cars with Apple CarPlay, and the issue persists, indicating it is an app-level inconsistency.

    I’d love to suggest adding a new alert option for kangaroo sightings near roads. In Australia, kangaroos are a significant cause of vehicle collisions, especially around dawn and dusk. It would be incredibly helpful if drivers could mark kangaroo sightings or active areas on the Waze map, just as they can mark hazards or police alerts.

    This could appear as a temporary small kangaroo icon, notifying nearby drivers to slow down or stay alert. It would improve safety for both drivers and wildlife, helping reduce collisions, injuries, and road damage.

    Since Waze already supports user-reported hazards, this would fit naturally into the app’s existing alert system.

16. Houston needs waze help!

    We are in Houston. Post-Harvey. With a large percentage of Houston's transportation having lost access to their cars or mobility resources. Our city is not built around public transport. Can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider beta testing or opening the carpool app so that people in Houston can use it? Where I work (we have 50,000 people) coming and going every day, we could make a huge push for it. Please do consider!

18. Shorten clicks needed for reporting hazard on road/on shoulder.

    When driving, trying to press the multi-clicks needed to report on road/on shoulder hazard is frequently impossible. With many states having the "move over" law, having ample warning for vehicles on the shoulder is critical. Would be nice to be able to customize one or two buttons to put on the Home Screen that can be activated with one click.

19. Allow comments to be added to police reports (as it was before)

    This use to be a standard feature. It should be added again. Stopped police vehicles tend to slow down traffic and actually create accidents. It is important to relay what is happening in the report (e.g. vehicular accident, speed trap, stopped car on shoulder, etc.) so as to help other Waze users navigate accordingly and to help protect other motorists.

20. Stop avoiding intersections with stoplights and routing to dangerous intersections.

    I drive rideshare and I am constantly routed away from stoplights only to end up a very busy intersection that Waze wants me to cross or turn left onto a super busy cross-street that have low visibility due to cars parked along the side or large shrubbery. There is usually no way to turn around and I am stuck with having to wait for quite a long time for a safe time to cross or turn into high speed traffic. It seems to me the app is trying to avoid stoplights and I have no way of turning off the feature in the app. I would much rather wait at a stoplight and not endanger myself or my passengers just because the app thinks it is saving me time. Please fix this or give us a way to opt out of avoiding stoplights.
