  1. Prioritize freeways option

I drive large trucks and trailers on a regular basis, and in my CDL course we're taught to stick to state roads with a number or a letter, examples: state highway 10, county highway N. If it's got a name we probably shouldn't be on it. There's the button to avoid freeways, but I'd love the opposite as it would be a simple way to do truck/trailer/rv friendly routes.

Even in my personal car I'd prefer it as I prefer cruising over stoping/turning all the time. Also in my experience the state and county highways are usually more well maintained…

  2. Voice reply

We can report things like crashes or stopped vehicles but we can't reply to the "still there?" prompt. Even having the ability to confirm with voice after we had passed whatever it was would be nice

  3. Routing

    Hello.
In the routing section, it's best to have an option assigned to routing based on two simultaneous factors, distance and time.
It is very important for hybrid vehicles

  4. Contextual road navigation elements

Waze (so far) does not fully account for overall road context in navigation. We've (ie. my partner and I) have found it treating all roads equally when picking a route, whether urban, rural, wide, narrow, usually parrtially blocked by parked cars, etc. So, I suggest adding a set of options to the system and the navigation algorithm which allows weighting by road type. This could be selected or deselected manually by the user, with some default setting sets (ie. "Prefer Highways", "The Scenic Route", etc).

Based on roads we've used, we suggest the following classifications:

    Highway
    Fast-moving multi-lane road with…

  5. Always-On" Dynamic Hazard Progress Bar on Main Navigation Screen.

I am proposing the integration of a persistent, dynamic progress bar located directly above the bottom ETA panel. The goal is to allow drivers to anticipate upcoming road events without needing to interact with the screen.
    Key Features:
Always Visible: This bar should be a permanent fixture of the main navigation UI, removing the need to open sub-menus or the "Route Overview" to see upcoming hazards.
Real-Time Tracking: A vehicle marker moving toward alert icons (police, hazards, crashes) to provide an instant visual cue of how close an event is.
Enhanced Safety: By keeping this information constantly visible, the driver…

  6. Zoom Ability Moving with Speed and Limit ON

Using a Kenwood DNX997XR without the zoom control and no pinch zoom the map is unreadable. I need to turn off the speed and Speed limit to see it. Its there when stopped and gone when I move.
Why not MOVE the Speed signs and make them readable. Even better a small, mid and large text box speed sign. Let the user decide what they want on the map.
Waze is great I use it all the time and on a BIG Cadillac screen its fine I pinch zoom and can BARELY see the speed limit. But on a $1000…

  7. Do not dim navigation on opening audio. Make track skip buttons bigger. Allow nav controls to be adjustable on nav Screen

Allow users to customise their nav screen so they can position and size the features they need.

Most importly, just because I want my audio player open with bigger track skip buttons and current track listing DO NOT DIM THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE MAP SCREEN! I’m still navigating, why make it dark and hard to see because I want to see what I’m listening to?!

your UI choices make impede some useful functionality. Let users choose what nav information they need, where on the screen it is and how large it is. Maybe I need a larger speedo and…

  8. motorcycle display preferences for carplay

I have 5" carplay units on both of my motorcycles. (no this is not a display size issue). My preferred map software in carplay, is Waze, as I want the most crowdsourced information such as cops, traffic, construction, etc. My only problem on the motorcycle with carplay/Waze display is that the map is way too FINE and small print, the speed is too small, and red/black which are fairly impossible to read as they're both dark colors.

My ask, and idea, and suggestion... either basically control over the display SIZE to make the fonts and boldness of the roads and…

  9. Fuel Cost Estimation in Route Comparison

    Hello,

I would like to suggest adding an estimated fuel cost indicator to route options, similar to how CO₂ emissions are currently displayed.

    Why this would be valuable:

    • Drivers naturally compare time vs cost when choosing a route.
    • While CO₂ information is useful, fuel cost is often a more actionable decision factor for everyday users.
    • Having this directly inside Waze would avoid the need to use third-party apps for cost estimation.

    Proposed implementation (simple & non-intrusive):

    • Add an optional field in vehicle settings:
    • Average fuel consumption (L/100km or MPG)
    • Fuel type
    • Use official…

  10. Predictive Coasting Speed Alert / Vorausschauende Roll-Geschwindigkeitswarnung

I suggest adding a predictive driving option to Waze that helps drivers adjust their speed more smoothly before reaching reduced speed zones.
Currently, Waze shows the reduced speed limit exactly when you reach the zone, which often forces drivers to brake actively. My proposal is that Waze should calculate the optimal point at which I should release the accelerator, allowing the car to coast into the reduced speed limit without using the brakes.
The system should display an alert such as “Reduce speed to 50 km/h in 300 m” at the right moment for coasting.Additionally, the app could optionally collect…

  11. Subscription for more content

Here is my idea and I would hope if this ever got approved I would be included in the profits anyways

Have a subscription based add on that has special features for car enthusiasts for £1.99 a month
    1. Add friends and be able to see them on your map if they are near by
    2. Friend can create groups for road trips and meets so that you can see set destinations together aswell as set group pins as a destination if they have found somewhere cool to go
    3. Have a road tracker bit like a video game where…

  12. gives users more info when they report map issues

    Hi.
i want to say that at one time I reported a road closure, and when entering the options, I only saw the addition of a "comment". I wanted to include the street name so that the report would be clear, but I had to go out again, read the street name, and return to the report again! Can you imagine these steps while I am driving the vehicle? It's kinda complicated. I suggest adding a screen below the report "whatever kind" that shows you your location, the names of the streets around you, and the directions. "In order…

  13. Ability to EXIT from Alert Pop Up

On the new display design, when an alert pops up on the left-hand side (i.e. disabled vehicle on shoulder), it often hides information in the top-left navigation box. The user can not hide that alert box without hitting (1) still there or (2) not there. Oftentimes, the issue is still some ways down the road and the driver has no idea which to press. BUT, the driver presses something -- anything -- to remove the alert because they need to see the navigation information. This probably leads to bad data being shared out. Give the driver the option to HIDE…

  14. adding no commercial plates filter

Allowing a filter for choosing passenger cars only routes or commercial vehicles allowed. This would be helpful to plan routes and side routes avoiding parkways or roads in the NYC area which do not allow commercial plated vehicles on those roads

  15. Journey time <> motorway preference setting rather than avoid/use toggle

When motorbiking it’s often frustrating to be stuck on a motorway when the non-motorway alternative (for a large portion of the route) is equal or similar time.

It would be great to have an option to better blend the route. I.e a preference to non-motorway unless it makes sense for part of the route to be completed on motorway to make progress rather than the strict on/off toggle.

  16. Safety kids

    Hello,

I noticed that the app displays a helpful reminder during driving, such as “Don’t forget to turn on your headlights.”

I would like to suggest an additional safety feature that could save lives:
Please consider adding a reminder for drivers – if they have a baby or child in the car, not to forget to properly secure them, and at the end of the trip, after the system says “You have arrived,” to include a short message reminding the driver to check that no children are left in the vehicle.

This is a simple message that could help…

  17. Add support for government emergency alerts (cell broadcast integration) to notify drivers entering affected areas

As a Waze volunteer editor, I’d like to suggest integrating a feature that uses official cell broadcast emergency alerts sent by governments or national agencies (such as AMBER Alerts, severe weather warnings, or public safety alerts).

The idea is simple: when a Waze user drives into an area where a cell broadcast alert was recently sent, the app could display a notification or short message about it — even if that driver didn’t originally receive the alert on their phone because they were outside the area at the time.

This feature could be extremely valuable in real-life situations, such as:…

  18. Roundabout display 2d and zoom out

Waze is a great app, but it has a significant drawback — especially when driving in the UK.

The interface elements (such as the arrow and road layout) are too large, which makes it hard to read, particularly at roundabouts. What’s even more problematic is that the view remains in 3D and doesn’t switch to an overhead 2D perspective like Google Maps does, which would make navigating roundabouts much easier.

Additionally, when slowing down, Waze doesn’t seem to handle speed reduction well — the position appears to lag by a few seconds. As a result, it often looks like…

  20. Toggle Map View to reduce info screens

I think it should be a toggle option to increase map view and reduce/minimize turn by turn directions and ETA info size. These two information displays take up a large portion of the viewable scree when full screen. The minimized/reduce view would be greatly reduced to a single line. A user could touch the single line and then the view go back to normal, if needed or desired.
