1. I would love to see a warning when entering an area that is known for issuing tickets

   I am not sure if you can do this with Waze Maps, but i would love to see this feature.

   I would like Waze Maps to highlight and issue a warning to drivers of areas that are known to be "ticket alleys"

   What I mean by "ticket alleys" are areas that have very high percentage of traffic violations and higher than normal traffic incidences of reckless driving tickets.

   There are two counties in VA, Sussex and Dinwiddie Counties that are known for issuing unusual and very expensive tickets like Reckless Driving for a simple speeding ticket.

   This could be data driven by unusual stops on the shoulders of highways, even be user driven like a "i got a ticket here" button

   I am not trying to make it easier for speeders, but some of these places have a bad habit of abusing travelers. These towns issue tickets as income verses actual driver safety

2. Correct addresses in Virginia

4. Add client side Reports to live map & ability to edit from pin on live map

   Currently when a user submits a report it's not visible on client side live map.

   Add display of a pin 📍 designating 'Active Reports' upon creation to client side of route on live map, and allow edits to Active Reports on live map 'pin' press expansion.

5. Add a "Can't do that !" button

   Sometimes, Waze tells me to take a road and I can't, because it is blocked for construction, or because of a map error (road recently became one-way). When I pass the road, Waze recalculates and often, tells me to make a U-turn and take that same road. Which I still can't.

   When Waze tells me to turn where I can't, I'd like to be able to press a "Can't do that" button which would have 2 effects :
   - Report a "Wrong driving instructions" map problem.
   - Recalculate an other way to reach my destination, without this particular road.

9. Fading map mode switch from day to night and vice versa

   I know that switching the map mode from day to night, and night to day, is based on the real sunset time and sunrise time based on the location. I noticed that. How about if the map of Waze fades from light to dark, and dark to light slowly like the sky fades brighter or darker to make the map more realistic.

10. New hiden speed cameras in athens not shown on map

    TO: Google & Waze – Traffic and Maps Division
    SUBJECT: Missing speed/red light cameras in Athens & National Highway – Immediate risk for users

    Dear team,

    I’m a professional taxi driver who drives tens of thousands of kilometers every year in Athens and on the Athens–Lamia National Highway. I use Waze and Google Maps daily. However, the lack of updated data on new cameras has become a serious risk for your users.

    What’s happening:

    1. In Athens:

    Dozens of new traffic cameras have been installed on major roads (Kifisos Ave., Kifisias, Dyrrachiou, Moschato, Nea Filadelfia, etc.).

    These are white with black base, featuring a small glass window, supposedly for “traffic monitoring.”

    However, they are already issuing fines, e.g. a reversal violation at Panormou & Kifisias, confirmed by SMS within 3 hours, even though there’s only one visible camera there – a “monitoring” one.

    These do not appear in Waze or Google Maps as fixed or mobile cameras.

    1. On the Athens–Lamia National Road:

    At kilometer 250, there are new cameras that capture vehicles up to 2 km away. The limit there is just 80 km/h, a clear trap.

    They’ve installed cross-facing cameras on both directions to scan both lanes.

    Just before Kandriti tolls (coming toward Athens) there’s a digital info board with an integrated camera, tracking speed and taking photos.

    Our demand is simple:

    Update your maps immediately to include these active cameras, to protect your users.

    If there’s no local editor, assign one or send a professional to document them.

    I do not ask to become editor. I only care that drivers are fairly warned, as in every civilized country.

    If needed, I can provide photos and exact locations. This is not personal, it’s about transparency and public safety.

    And worse: Political deception

    In Greece, there’s a recurring pattern of public deception by the authorities.

    The Ministry claims that “cameras will be used only for red lights” or “will activate from November 1st” – yet they’re already issuing full fines for all violations.

    This was proven by a reversal fine confirmed by text message, from a spot where only a traffic-monitoring camera exists.

    In other words, citizens are deliberately misled and ambushed, at a time when fines are economically devastating.

    Why this matters:

    Thousands of drivers receive fines unknowingly, without prior warning.

    Your apps, without updates, mislead rather than assist.

    The Greek government provides zero public signs or indications.

    The fine system is not income-adjusted – rich and poor pay the same. Totally unfair.

    If you truly respect your users, act now. Otherwise, your platform becomes part of a nationwide trap.

11. Remove extra screen icon

    Remove extra items taking up screen space. We already have an option for home or work when waze first opens on carplay. I don't need an extra icon box to choose from. It's taking up unnecessary space on my screen that won't go away if I'm not in an active navigation. It was a pointless add, we don't need waze to be like Google maps, that's why I use waze. I might as well just stick with Google maps.

12. When I take a call when using waze, after the call ends I get the lock screen instead of goign back to waze.

    When you recieve a call when using waze, after the call ends you get the lock screen instead of goign back to waze. it should go back to the map screen.
    Also, there sould be a button to get to the dialer without leaving waze.
    Other than that - great app. keep up the good work

    Please make (at least optional) interface cleaner and tidy, like Google maps, or other regular navigation app. Waze is great app, but this toddler book like interface is really annoying

14. Fix the phone overheating issue

    Let me explain the background on this. I've been happily using Waze with AA in my car for several years. All of a sudden, mid Feb 2024, my phone is overheating, sometimes before I even leave my driveway! I added a utility to my phone to troubleshoot and what I discovered is atrocious. This started right around Feb 19th. Whenever I have Waze running in the car, Google Maps is also running in background. If I use Google Maps to navigate, the phone doesn't overheat and Waze doesn't open either. I am already in the Beta group for Android Auto, and I provided them with the details, though that is more like dropping into a black hole. I don't know if the Waze group at Google can help with this, but you'd should be talking to each other. I also have seen posts from several other people who have been having the same problem and it all started around the same time. Where I live there's no normal reason for the overheating, since it's winter here and I'm mostly driving at night. I see no documentation from Waze that would require Google Maps to run when I was using Waze. I would much rather use Waze for my navigation because of all the features it has that Google Maps doesn't. And it becomes a more serious problem, because if the phone overheats then I lose my Pandora music as well, not mention phone calls and alerts. I gave up Sirius XM a year ago due to the outrageous price.
    So, is there a reason you are aware of why Google Maps would have to run if I'm using Waze? Stopping Google Maps is not a viable option.

16. restrictions on canceling reports

    It's obvious that photo radar van operators and police are using Waze. I have driven by a PR van, reported it, and on my way back the report will be gone but the PR van will still be there (someone reported it as "not there"). There should be a "not there" safeguard in place, where depending on your rank on the scoreboard, so many reports of not being there need to be filed before it gets removed from the map, and a "Thanks!" report cancels out a "not there" report.

    For example: I am a Knight, so either a Knight/King can cancel my report, or 4 baby wazers can cancel it.

    That way, the PR operator shouldn't be able to cancel the report the moment after he gets pinned on the map.

17. Add "Residential Street" as an Additional Road Type

    There tend to be situations in which neighborhoods and suburban communities have systems of roads such that there are a few feeder roads that are intended to serve a network of smaller residential streets. In the current state of the map editor, it can be difficult to map such areas so that traffic is generally directed along the streets with higher speed limits and fewer driveways. Usage of the prioritizing functions and setting certain segments as private roads helps a bit to alleviate this problem. I am suggesting a new idea.
    Create a road type "residential street" for roads that should be generally avoided by through traffic. These roads might, for example, cause a routing penalty, discouraging using long stretches of residential streets or the routing system routing traffic to cut through neighborhoods. It may have a lower preference than a "street", but not carry as much as a penalty as a private road. The classification for residential streets may be optimally used for roads the primary purpose of which is to allow access to single-family residences or other low-density housing.

18. Update the car play / android auto app of Waze

    Waze should be updated for car play user and android auto. We do not have full functionalities like the iOS or android mobile app. For example we can only report police, not hides ones or in the opposite side. Same for errors in the map, we can’t add a commentary if we use car play for example. All iOS and android fonctionnalités should be added to car play and android auto to have a 100% good,experience.

19. Driving mode

    Waze need a "Driving mode" switch within settings. I'm a Waze user, I use Waze from my car radio 7.5" screen and the only difference is more space for map view. By "Driving mode" is bigger buttons, bigger texts on street names and notifications. While driving you should not need to force reading or hitting a button... It's just an idea that I'm sure will improve a lot Waze usability while driving.

20. Add Shazam to the Waze app

    I love to use the Waze.app while I'm driving and especially on long road trips. But I find myself switching to Shazam whenever I hear a song on the radio that I want to identify and it can be difficult to switch back and forth between apps while driving on the highway. Can you add the ability to Shazam a song within the Waze.app and show the song title and artist on the map and if I click on it go to the Shazam app?
