I would like to know when a bicycle or a motorbike is at a close distance from me, treated as a hazard
When I ride my bike I would like to let Waze know that I am a hazard to other drivers. Other drivers would be warned when I am close to them. Alternatively, as a car driver, I would like to be able to activate a mode that warns me about bicycles and motorcycles. I think this idea would reduce the number of accidents involving bicycles and motorbikes. This can be extended to other vehicles on the road like tractors, oversized transport vehicles...

Set-up - changing country
Not an idea as much as a question. How I change the country if I picked the wrong one in the beginning? This app is useless with current setting and I can't seem to change it.

Need way to edit one lane bridge, due to long term construction, causes two way traffic to wait, traffic lights on ramps and road
Need way to edit/show one lane bridge, especially due to long term construction. Current situation causes two way traffic to wait while traffic lights on ramps and road cycle to allow only one ramp or roadway lane to proceed at a time from any direction.
No existing Waze edit function to mark local bridge that is under repairs and causing traffic delays. How can we show detour? All traffic is now funneled through one lane on bridge one traffic direction/lane at a time. No edit function to indicate this to warn drivers to avoid bridge, at least not for level 1 editors like me. Please note Jct of CT Route 190 and US I-84. This bridge construction started in May this year and is expected to continue through next year.

Is there a Family Locator function?
Is there a Family Locator function? Like if your family member is a waze user, and for privacy they'll let your phone see their location, and you can be guided to their location by the gps?

A more credible alert...
The following factors would give a "certainty" rating to each report:
* Number of wazers ahead of me (within .5-2 miles)
* Number of minutes since the alert was posted
* Number of "thanks" attached to report
* Whatever logic Waze uses to determine more credible users...15 votes -
navigation list
bring back the navigation list. WAZE is good but occasionally makes mistakes and support and be able to know where you are being led. I would suggest the list pop-up when you touch the bar of the current next turn.

Optional "no map" (trip computer) view when route is known
8 out of 10 times I use Waze driving to and from work, a route I know very well so I don't need Waze to show me my position on the map.
What I instead would like is a "trip computer" kind of interface, showing me things like my current speed, current speed limit (if known), maybe a color code for traffic ahead on route (green, yellow, red), ETA, current road name (nice to have, not need to have - I know where I am), live updates of incidents (needs to update themselves automatically), textual navigation instructions like "turn right in XX meters" (again optional as I know this route), and a few large buttons for Reporting, Alternative Route Now! (will open map view), Menu.
Police traps and cameras should trigger a large popup window when approaching.
Other optional items on the trip computer screen: GPS signal strength, GPS time, heading, avg speed, distance driven, distance to dest, etc.
It would be cool if the colors of this screen (and even the fonts?) could be customized to match the car's dashboard lighting, or to work optimal for night use or to save battery usage (black background, green or red characters, dim light unless police/cam warning).8 out of 10 times I use Waze driving to and from work, a route I know very well so I don't need Waze to show me my position on the map.

Send a text message when delayed and/or shortly before arriving
Waze can send twitter-messages, but with the new APIs in iOS4 it could send textmessages (SMS) as well. When entering a destination for routing, one could also select a mobile phonenumber (of the person we are driving to) so that significant delays are reported automatically to this person. Also, waze could send a SMS some minutes before arriving at the destination. This comes really handy when you want to pick someone up!
When I say "automatically" - I mean that Waze pops up a dialog that you only have to confirm.

Disable/option iPhone touch-rotating map
When navigating with my iPhone I usually want to zoom in and out using the pinch movement as most apps use, but half the time trigger the touch to rotate map feature, which I never really need to use.
My suggestion: Disable this (the map will still rotate when you are heading in a certain direction, which is all anyone should need it to do) or at least have an option to turn it off.

Verbal “Animal Alert” & Animal Icon replaced in app
Requesting update to app: 50 mile commute to & from work. High potential for animal / wildlife encounters & add a loss of connection for approx 5 miles during the trip. Would like an “Animal” icon to be placed back into the app & a verbal “Animal Alert” be announced the same way that construction, crashes, hazards & police, do so now. Not everybody lives and / or works in the city & those are two different types of driving styles for a commute. It would be nice to be alerted ahead of time, if I’m entering an area of animals or wildlife in / on the actual roadways or roadsides … as opposed to off in the distance of a field or hilltop, etc. BTW, if it makes any difference, I had an encounter with a HUGE bull-elk that completely totaled my car & **** near killed me with it during that same commute! Thx in advance for your assistance & consideration.

Replace unintuitive “not there” button symbol
When people are driving, symbols need to be instantly recognizable. For example, most of the report icons on the initial report display meet that requirement.
But when driving and you come across something like a partner feed alert and the app wants more info, the “not there” icon option is a stylized… purple and red, what?.. gloved?.. thumbs down hand that doesn’t intuitively convey “NO” and does not match the style theme of the other app icons. The first time I saw it when driving I could not figure out what it was, and what it was for, until I literally read the text. My brain genuinely processed it as a bird at first. Truly poor visual design.
If it absolutely must be a thumbs down, it should probably be solid blue, and in a standardized/stylized hand in the shape people expect. Alternatively how about a simple red “X”? No confusion with that.

multiple destinations
feature suggestion for Waze
subject: add feature to automatically sort multiple destinations by distance or direction.
message: hello Waze team,
I'm a regular user of your amazing app and I'd like to suggest a feature that could be extremely helpful for many users-especially delivery drivers 'couriers or anyone with multiple stops in their day.
feature request: please consider adding a feature that allows users to-enter multiple destinations at once (multi stop routing).automatically sort them either: by distance from the current location (closest to farthest) or in a specific direction (from south to north) .
generate a smart route that takes into account both distance and current traffic conditions.
why this useful: this would save users a lot of time and planning, and improve the overall navigation experience when handling multiple tasks or deliveries.
thank you for all your great work and for continuing to make waze better and smarter!
best regards,
Amir Awad

Ability to report wildlife near roadways
In I would assume many places around the world but mainly suggesting this for Australia, there is often wildlife near or around roadways that may cause a hazard to motorists and as I have seen myself, this occurs near bends in roads and it think it would be a great feature to add, so that normal waze users are able to report wildlife that they see so that other motorists in the area are aware of it so that they can keep an eye out to prevent an accident.

Differentiate alternative routes from each other by color
If you display alternative routes while actively navigating/driving, they will all be displayed in the same color. It would be helpful to display each route in a different color for easy differentiation.

Ev charging
Revamp the entire EV charging options/filters/functionality
Many good ideas for improvement already in the suggestion box that should be implemented. There should also be a filter for Tesla stations that are Tesla only, so that those with adapters unable to use those locations can filter them out.14 votes
