Draw City Boundaries More Accurately
Currently City Boundary layers are not drawn precisely, which can result in the wrong city name being displayed to users in the app. I continue to get URs on this regularly in my area.
This issue seems to be seen commonly when cities are divided by an undulating river. Users should not be shown that they are in a city that they are not in. The system to "draw" the city layer should rely on more data points to draw a more accurate city layer. I will attach screenshots to show this more clearly.https://www.waze.com/en-US/editor?env=usa&lon=-122.59338&lat=49.19848&zoom=2

Update UR Categories the same as the App
Would like to match app problem descriptions with those presented in WME URs.
For example: UR's that come in for 'Wrong Driving Directions' (what the App says)
Show in WME as 'Improper / Poor navigation instruction'Having that changed to 'Wrong Driving Directions' will help with editors looking at responses and what to select for a default/1st response to a user.

Do not move my map somewhere else after an edit
Hi,
when editing from the feed (closing MP, UR), after saving WME moves to a random place where it thinks there are other UR I can solve. It is extremely annoying. When editing I save often because of various save bugs, and as soon as I saved it moves somewhere else and I cannot find where I was editing to finish the job.
Same problem when saving, if Waze thinks there is a problem it moves my map to where it thinks the problem is, and if it is a long road, it happens often that the road is offscreen.…24 votesHey!
Thank you very much for this great suggestion.
As we believe this will be solved with a release of related features, we added to our backlog to track and make sure it was solved.Best,

Enforce better minimum segment lengths
WME currently allows segment lengths down to 1 m. However, editors are told that Waze will not measure traffic speeds accurately over such short segments and that mapping them could degrade the end-user experience. Different regions may have different recommendations for minimum segment length, but if anybody knows the best minimum length, it should be Waze itself. If Waze will not function properly with extremely short segment lengths, then WME should not allow them.
24 votesHi all,
Thanks for this suggestion. We currently have other features which can account for this, like Roadshields and the towards option.
Editors should continue to avoid creating short segments where they aren't necessary, however this issue will be resolved by other future feature releases.
Many thanks,

Remove false city names from UK WME database
Following the mass import of data for 3 ad campaigns (McDonald's, M&S, Aldi) by the Ads / Geo-ops teams the UK map is now littered with false or incorrect city names. These must be removed from the map immediately as they are NOT city names and should not exist.
The UK Champs have asked privately for this to be done but for some reason this request needs to be public.
This is NOT a change to UK mapping, this is simply following common sense that Counties should never be used as a city name and fake city names should not…

As your community manager have also communicated to you via email, this request was sent here by mistake.
We will keep on supporting it with in the correct flow.

Use of alternate city names for routing
Several years ago the decision was made to use the postal city as an alternate city name for routing to addresses in rural areas. According to Wazeopedia "Waze founder and CTO Ehud stated in a US meetup that a search algorithm is so much work to build correctly and maintain, that Waze does not want to spend the time, money or energy to build their own, and are happy to stack the Waze matching process on top of the Google search algorithm." As a result, WME editors have spent untold time and energy adding the postal cities to these segments.…

WME Road Types
The current classification of roads on the WME follows the road types in the USA (Freeway, Major and Minor Highways and other road types).
In Europe, but I think also in other parts of the world, the classification of roads is very different. This creates problems with editing roads, as it is difficult to adapt the WME type to the real situation.
It is necessary to revise the road classification of the WME according to the real classification of each country so that each country can edit the map in a correct and more real way.23 votesThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Notification in WME for tile build delay
If there is a delay in the tile build or the map is rolled back for some reason, please show a notification in the WME.

Allow for the addition of signage symbols for turn instructions.
I'm not asking for the ability to add all road signage (e.g. regulatory signage) as this would be overkill, but many countries include symbolism on big green signs to display additional services on a turn instruction without having to use lengthy text to do so.
While some symbolism exists in unicode/emoji form, these are not uniform across platforms and having country specific visual aids to add to signs would be a valuable way of informing drivers of additional services on their turn instructions.
The types of signs I would like to see added include:
* Accomodation
* Camping
* Caravan…22 votes -
calculated average speed of average speed segment
There are some road segments which have average speed cameras. Almost always the human beings unable to calculate average speed, so instead they simply don't exceed the enforced speed, the max speed, not average. In case if there are obstructions, slow vehicles, turning vehicles in the average speed segment, the real average speed may fall significantly below what was requested by Road Code rules.
Please add indicator of calculated average speed of passing of the current average speed segment22 votes -
Editor visibility default state should be Visible (not invisible)
Problem Description:
I frequently see my status as invisible when logging into WME, even after I have previously explicitly set it to visible. The visibility appears to reset back to invisible after some time has elapsed, maybe a day or more, or perhaps it resets after session expiry. I am not certain exactly what criteria causes the visibility to reset back to invisible. I would much prefer to remain visible in WME without having to repeatedly check and manually set myself back to visible each time I authenticate or access WME.Requested Solution:
Please adjust the default value or default…22 votes -
A place with an expiration date
I would like to suggest adding an expiration date to a place. When the expiration data is reached the place deletes it self from the map. This option is good for places such as events like weddings, parties, sports tournament etc..
Today, many such places which their event date passed exist on the map and nobody remembers to delete them and the map gets loaded.
The expiration date default would be of course - No expiration so that new places would not be deleted.
Such an option is already implemented in Map comments.By: reuvenirony

Vitrual Lanes
There are many places where Lanes go one or two junctions back (H junctions for example). The editor should allow to define lanes that are not limited to the turns at the end of this segment:
Real example:
We have 3 lanes. The left lane is loaded for 1 KM. In that 1 KM there are 4 junctions ( right turns allowed). It would be nice to be able to define 1 lane for Left turn, one for going Straight Ahead, and one for Straight Ahead or Right. And be able to do this for all 5 segments.

Editing permissions - change request
I suggest to chane some editing pernissions as follows (the current required level is given in parenthisis):
- Giving a "narrow street" road type to a segment: 3 (1)
- Entering a TBR / TBTR (this includes difficult turn and toll road designation): 3 (1)
- Enter a turn instruction override: 3 (1)
- Delete a segment that someone else created: 3 (2)
- Create a new MTE: 4 (1)
- View RTC details (view only): 1 (4)
- View of house numbers: 1 (2)
22 votesThanks for the suggestion, but this is part of a bigger project that would involve being able to configure different entities in countries, which is not currently planned.

Better usability for the turn guidance feature
Very great that we actually have an preview for the expected turn instruction in the client visible in the WME.
BUT when the input of the user exeeds the length of the preview box, the text is cut off. The text labels in the visual instruction and torwards line are capable of showing 5 letters only, it is not possible to read longer names there at once and it is prone to error (for example typos). This must be improved.
This doesn't allow easy every day editing and error correction. Draggable road shield boxes and the text labels are pending. The…

Add postal codes/ZIP codes to Waze address editor
When a Waze app user searches for an address added using the Waze Map Editor, it does not show the postal code. But with Google addresses, the postal code is shown. Please add postal codes to the WME.

copy/paste for turn closures / RTC on turns
new turn closures feature in WME:
We need a copy/paste feature for turn closuresIf you have to setup more than one turn closure, you have to enter description, start/stop date, start/stop time and MTE every single time.
On a closed segment next to a T junction you have to set 4 turn closures, on a + junction 6 times. Why is it better to close e.g. 4 turns than the segment?
If the segment is closed Waze will route you the node that is closer to your destination. Maybe this is the closed junction you don't wanna go through.…21 votes -
Enable merging residential places
Today we cannot directly merge two residential places (or merge a residential place into a public one). There is a workaround: convert residential places to public ones, save them, merge, then convert back to residential if needed. Why not allow merging the direct way?

Allow sending Update Requests closing message when the map update succeeds
Send the UR closing message to the user when the map really gets updated (contains all changes up to the UR "closing" time).
Some things may get fixed immediately (by adding a closure or updating a place), most things require a map update. That means that we always have to write stuff like "in few days/after the next map update, the problem will be fixed".
Maybe a third button like this:
"Mark as Solved"
"Solve on map update" <-
"Mark as not identified"When the second button gets clicked a form opens when I can write a message to the…

Temporary downgrade of own editor level
I’d like to suggest in the WME a switch (perhaps in the user control panel) for downgrading the own editor level.
For example:
If I’m a level 5 Editor, but only want to edit simple streets which are only on level 1, i can switch my own editor level to something lower than 5 for this action. This would prevent myself for accidental editing more important street e.g. highways.
Compare this with an account in the IT… Even if I am an administrator… I shouldn’t be logged in always as an admin but just as a normal user with rights…21 votesThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.
