  3. Eliminate Heuristics and auto-generate paths instead.

    Heuristics are hidden behind so many elements of the map nowadays. As a result, editors are often expected to read multi-page documentation to understand how to take advantage of them or how to avoid unintended behaviour. In practice, even experienced editors frequently are unaware or uneducated, making this expectation especially unrealistic for new editors.

    My suggestion is to eliminate heuristics altogether, and replace them with auto-generated explicit paths/TIOs/etc. Whether it's an H or an # junction, traffic lights, turn instructions, u-turns, etc, everything should be visible and unambiguous in the editor.

  4. Display the capture date of Satellite imagery

    There are solutions to find the capture date, but they are cumbersome and outside of WME.

    From discussions with staff, I've been told that the date is present in the data Waze receives from Geo, so please please please surface the capture date of Satellite imagery in WME.

  5. Отмечать не рабочие камеры

    Дать возможность водителям отмечать что в населенных пунктах не работают камеры (радары) измеряющие скорость
    Просто часто в Европе существуют коробки где уже нет камер для замера скорости при въезде в наследный пункт и выезд
    И на картах Waze они отмечены как рабочие хотя они пустые (там видно )

  6. POI statistics

    Hello. It would be a great help and of interest to every community to have click statistics for POIs (points of interest). This would allow for greater attention and care when managing them, and even enable a specific lock level for a given POI based on its search popularity or click rate.

  9. Time Based Permanent Hazards

    Some permanent hazards can be time-based, especially if the local community maps them when they actually alert the driver about a hazard. For example, complex intersections might be complex only at night because of poor visibility, but during daytime the visibility is perfect, and the hazard is not needed.

  11. Visual only Traffic Lights

    Hi Waze Team and Community,

    I’d like to suggest the implementation of a visual-only Permanent Hazard for traffic lights (eg. located at pedestrian crossings that are not part of an intersection or junction).

    Currently, to map a traffic light, we often have to split segments to create a junction. However, on long roads with simple pedestrian crossings, "breaking" the segment can negatively impact routing data and unnecessarily complicate the map.

    Having a specific "Traffic Light" hazard (similar to the "Red Light Camera" but without the enforcement/fine implication) would allow:
    Better driver awareness of upcoming stops for pedestrians.

  12. Informacion Sobre semaforos.

    Buenas,

    Quería proponer una mejora relacionada con los semáforos que se pueda ver en la app de mobil que seria muy util, actualmente en Waze están como elemento visual en el mapa, pero no aportan información útil en la conducción.

    Creo que sería muy interesante implementar información más “inteligente” sobre los semáforos, por ejemplo:

    Aviso de semáforos con ciclos largos (los típicos que te hacen esperar bastante)
    Indicación de si un semáforo va a cambiar pronto (especialmente útil en ciudad)
    Posibilidad de mostrar un contador o estimación del tiempo restante en rojo/verde (si hay datos disponibles)
    Aviso preventivo de semáforos…

  13. Use AI to see the live traffic levels in each turn lane/lanes going to different major roads

    Use AI to see the live traffic levels in each lane based on user data and traffic movement. This could be a turn lane to turn left/right, or say if lanes 1&2 go to the M25 and 3&4 carry onto the A3. As the people who go to the M25 is queueing, AI could determine the estimated travel times by people who have already sat in the traffic queue by which direction they end up going.

    This will give more accurate arrival times and better routes for the user.

  14. Prevent segment node merging in certain cases

    Just like when the speed limit or name differs between two segments we are trying to merge, merging segments by deleting a node should not be allowed if:

    • the segment elevations are different
    • the number of lanes is different
    • segment alternate addresses are different (or one does not contain an alternate address and one does)

    The goal is to prevent segment elevation or routing errors when cleaning up seemingly unnecessary junction nodes in an area.

    I might be forgetting some cases, so please feel free to add any relevant ones in the comments!

  15. Van/weight limit routes

    I have a van that exceeds the weight limit for the Rotherhithe, but there’s no way in which I can stop Waze taking me that route. Could you add a feature so I can select my car type as a van so it won’t send me down these restricted routes and give me a fine.

    Cars towing caravans and trailers are limited to 60mph
    A towing mode would adjust the ETA for a max speed of 60.

    Those damaged road guardrails are huge risk as they are frequently left not fixed for several weeks or months.
