  1. Crowdsourced GPS signal degradation / interference alerts

Crowdsourced detection of areas where GPS/GNSS positioning is degraded, unavailable, or potentially affected by interference.

Today, Waze does an excellent job using aggregated phone motion data to detect traffic speed, crashes, road hazards, and other conditions. A similar approach could help detect locations where many devices suddenly experience degraded GPS quality. The user-facing alert could be simple and non-alarming, such as: “GPS signal degraded ahead” or “Navigation accuracy may be reduced in this area.”

This would be useful because when GPS fails or becomes unreliable, users often blame the navigation app. A contextual warning would improve user trust, reduce confusion,…

  2. Allow user to switch Google Street View provider

The most GPS-ically perfect street view images are provided by Google Street View, however, there are also volunteers who contribute their street view imagery to Google but lack perfect GPS linkage with the imagery.

Allowing users to switch the imagery by providing the option will significantly cut off the time for searching the particular imagery provider, where the editors are currently switching imagery by dropping the man icon over the streets manually to check the provider.

  3. POI tiles during route

Waze Map do not have feature to show on screen during drive nearest POI on route. Sygic navigation has something like this it shows tiles on top (in android auto mode) which shows nearest restaurants, gas stations, parkings on route with distance.
This is especialy usefull on long routes when driver need plan breake. I can estimate nearest gas station is 2km away and next is 15km away so I can decide to pullover now or later.

  6. Send automatic update request to URs with automatic description

When users with older versions of Waze report a problem, the user requests shown in WME sometimes include an automatic description, such as “Reported map issue” or “Reported from AAOS”. Today such URs don't receive the automatic update request since the server considers them a user's comment. The server should recognize the automatic descriptions and send the automatic update request.

  9. private lane

Thornbury Lane, Haverford, PA 19041 - Please add Private Lane - no thru trucks due to narrow passage and low wires. We have heavy cut through truck traffic recently because of Waze and need it to show alternative routes. No thru trucks on Thornbury Lane please. Please also let me know if I should post this somewhere else to have route edited.

  10. Add my GPS speed data into "Your Drive" drive sessions

It would be nice to see my speed over the road segments in the saved sessions in "Your Drive" and probably color code the segments where I was too slow or too fast for the speed limit on that segment. I think if I am reviewing my drives and found that there are colored segments, I could probably easily tell that the speed limit on that road has changed and suggest and update to the maps. Or at least have a proof that I was a good boy and didn't speed up.

  11. Update 'Actionable URs' filter

Update the logic of the 'Actionable URs' filter to show all actionable URs regardless of the number of consecutive comments left by the reporter. The UR should remain in the "Actionable" feed as long as an editor has not yet responded

  13. Add Permanent Hazard for Causeways (Fords / Dangerous Dips)

I would like to request the addition of a permanent hazard type in the Waze Map Editor for Causeways (Fords / Dangerous Dips).

In many developing countries, mountainous regions, and jungle areas (such as in Nepal), national highways and rural roads frequently cross seasonal rivers or streams via causeways rather than bridges. These sections of the road are prone to sudden water accumulation, standard flooding, and severe dips that can damage vehicles or pose a significant safety risk to drivers who are unfamiliar with the terrain.

Currently, local traffic authorities recognize these as permanent, high-risk road features. For example, Nepal…

  14. Install traffic lights near the intersection

URGENT REQUEST TO INSTALL TRAFFIC LIGHTS FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY

Location: Intersection of Jalan Lepai (Langgar - Bukit Pinang bypass) and Jalan Kampung Dalam Kota (crossing over to Jalan Hutan Kampung), near SK Haji Abu Bakar, Alor Setar.

Issue: This intersection has become a high-risk accident zone due to high speeds and heavy vehicle movement.

    1. Speeding Vehicles: Jalan Lepai is a long, straight bypass road. Motorists speed because they do not realize an active intersection lies ahead.
    2. Heavy Vehicles: The road is heavily utilized by massive commercial trailers and lorries daily.
    3. Vulnerable School Children: Young students from the nearby primary school,…

  15. New filter "Older than" should apply for URs with no comments

The new UR filter "last comment time: older than: should apply also to those URs with zero comments (automated comment). This way we could monitor URs with automated comments that have not been answered yet by an editor after x days.

  16. Suggestion: Display Lane Guidance When Driving Without Active Navigation

I would like to suggest a useful improvement for the Waze app, especially for driving without an active navigation route.

Currently, when a user is navigating to a destination and approaches a complex intersection or a multi-lane junction, Waze displays the lane layout and highlights the recommended lane for the route.

My suggestion is to display similar lane information even when the user is driving without active navigation.

When approaching a multi-lane intersection, Waze could show the available lane directions on the screen, for example: left lane for turning left, second lane from the left for left turn or straight,…

  17. Show Google POI uploaded photos in Waze Map Editor (WME)'s Google Places tab

Currently, Waze Map Editor (WME) allows editors to view and edit Google Places (POIs) and submit names for approval. This is an incredibly helpful feature for keeping our map aligned and accurate. However, one crucial piece of data is missing: the user-uploaded photos attached to these Google POIs.

We are requesting the ability to view these Google POI photos directly inside WME (for example, in the Google Place details panel when a Google POI is selected or linked).

Why this is needed (The Value)

    1. Better Visual Verification: Names and locations can sometimes be ambiguous. Being able to see photos of…

  18. A signal and four pedestrian crossings are introduced in the junction of S115 First Industrial street and 18th street. All lanes are one way

After Al khan road has been closed for construction, the junction of S115 First Industrial street and 18 Street has now been converted into signal. Four pedestrian crossings are also introduced. all lanes of 18th street are now one way, all of them now will turn left at Danube Masjid and continue till Al khan road.

  20. Allow saved nested community schedules (not just at the School Zone level)

There are 2 useful ways saved nested community schedules could be used.

    • Exemptions

Currently the only way to apply an exemption schedule is do it in every school zone, if you remember. If we could apply the exemption schedule to the community schedule, then it would automatically apply wherever that community schedule is set on a school zone.

For example, we have a state level exemption schedule for public holidays where schools are not open. This exemption schedule needs to be applied to every school zone in the state. It is easier to maintain one list, than to add those…
