1. POI tiles during route

   Waze Map do not have feature to show on screen during drive nearest POI on route. Sygic navigation has something like this it shows tiles on top (in android auto mode) which shows nearest restaurants, gas stations, parkings on route with distance.
   This is especialy usefull on long routes when driver need plan breake. I can estimate nearest gas station is 2km away and next is 15km away so I can decide to pullover now or later.

2. Crowdsourced GPS signal degradation / interference alerts

   Crowdsourced detection of areas where GPS/GNSS positioning is degraded, unavailable, or potentially affected by interference.

   Today, Waze does an excellent job using aggregated phone motion data to detect traffic speed, crashes, road hazards, and other conditions. A similar approach could help detect locations where many devices suddenly experience degraded GPS quality. The user-facing alert could be simple and non-alarming, such as: “GPS signal degraded ahead” or “Navigation accuracy may be reduced in this area.”

   This would be useful because when GPS fails or becomes unreliable, users often blame the navigation app. A contextual warning would improve user trust, reduce confusion, and help drivers understand why navigation may temporarily behave poorly. It could also improve safety by reducing the need for drivers to troubleshoot their phones while driving.

   The feature could be implemented passively and privacy-preservingly by aggregating GNSS-health indicators across multiple opted-in devices, rather than relying primarily on manual user reports. Useful indicators could include sudden loss of GNSS fix, degraded estimated accuracy, abnormal satellite C/N0 patterns, AGC changes where available, and disagreement between GNSS, inertial, cellular/Wi-Fi, and map-matched motion. The backend could require multiple devices and temporal/geographic consistency before surfacing any alert, which would help distinguish real GNSS degradation from tunnels, urban canyons, bad phone placement, or individual-device problems.

   This could start as an internal map-quality signal before becoming a public alert. Even without naming the cause as “jamming,” identifying areas of degraded GPS reliability would help improve routing confidence, map matching, safety messaging, and overall navigation reliability.

5. Improve satelite image

   In "Valera, Venezuela" the satelite image of Google is a real mess. I really loved the former images from the waze map. Do something google because your satelite image is not helping me to edit the roads in my city

7. Better WME ranking system

   It is very hard for newcomers in WME to be able to contribute as much as they wanted due to the ranking system that doesn't allow to do much at first. It is very hard to get to at least level 3 which allows to alter some segments in the driving area and it is almost impossible without hunting for missing POIs or stuff like that. There aren't always many editors with higher ranks and sometimes they can get overwhelmed by the editing tasks and opened map problems.
   There should be a better system in place that would allow newcomers to better contribute to the map.
   The system could inherit from programming CVS meaning that anyone should be allowed to make a change no matter for instance the segment level. This change would be just a revision of that segment and would require someone to approve it (like a pull request). Only after approval it becomes permanent change. There are small contributions like changing a turn or connecting a new segment to an existing road that you cannot do as a newcomer.
   By changing the system the work load would be balanced better and everyone will get better chances of getting to higher ranks and experience.

8. Prefill city when using a street name suggestion

   When we currently enter the name of a street, we get autocompletion suggestions based on existing roads in the neighbourhood. It would help quite a bit if the associated city field would also be filled in whenever we use one of these suggested road names. I know that every street has a city set (or none, on purpose) in the underlying data model, so this shouldn't be a big effort to add.

   I'm still contemplating whether I'll write a userscript for this or not. It's not so easy to hook into those functions, if I remember correctly.

   Implementation notes:
   To distinguish between nearby street names that exist in two cities (motorway names, for example, but also local roads can sometimes keep their name between cities), it would be best to also show the city name in the suggestions list. At the moment road names show up several times in the suggestions whenever they exist nearby in more than one city, which can be slightly confusing at first.

   If no city is set for the selected street, the 'none' checkbox for the city should be checked as well. It can of course still be changed afterwards, but I suspect that most of the time this would be most practical.

   This behaviour should only activate if a suggestion has not been clicked or has not been navigated to with the down arrow (or any other means of selecting a suggestion that I'm forgetting here). When just typing in a name, the city should not be set automatically.

   Notes about my mock-up
   An alternative for detailing the city name would be using a comma as separator, like it is done when you're not editing the name. Other alternatives: putting it between brackets or making the font smaller. The last one has the advantage that it takes up less space.
   For the first one I had to decrease the left and right padding of the autocompletion to 15px to prevent the dropdown to be covered by the scroll bar. This can probably be done better.
   For the second one I used these CSS properties: font-size:0.7em; padding-left:5px; font-weight:bold; text-transform:uppercase

9. Selecting a search result shouldn't reset the zoom level

   When using the WME search box to find a road, it would be really nice if WME could leave the current zoom level well alone rather than always resetting it to level 3.

   Even if it just defaulted back to level 4 that'd be an improvement, but jumping back out to 3 means we then always have to zoom back in at least one step if we want to be able to select a street segment. And even at L4, anyone looking to do some work on point places would then need to zoom in one step more before they show up... So really, not altering the zoom level at all would be the best choice IMO.

10. Improvements in segment selection for road closures

    Sometimes it's necessary to select multiple segments to perform a road closure either for MTE or for a conventional closure. After you have several segments selected, you accidentally select a node and all work is lost (the section disappears). I suggest making a modification that prevents the disappearance of the selection of these segments and notifies the editor that you selected a node and it will not be possible to make the respective closure (before or at the moment of trying to save). Obviously the idea is to give you the opportunity to remove the node from the selection and continue with the work.

11. New Place Address

    I'm not sure if it's a minor-bug or intended, but I ask you to take a look:

    Issue regarding Map Editor Beta and Production.

    :arrow: When you find a new place waiting for approval, if you click on the red arrow everything runs smooth, but if you feel the need to click on the yellow arrow to check what's that place is about before approving it (sometimes you can't tell just by the name title), notice it isn't possible to change the address... well maybe it's ok at this point before approving it.

    lease allow localization of address field just as it is done in search results, so it would be possible to have "%{street} %{housenumber}" instead of "%{housenumber} %{street}" for some languages.

13. Drive to Feature on Cartouche

    While editing the map I would like a separate layer so that I can make notes and pin it to areas of the map that I would like to visit. These online notes should only be viewable by the user who made the notes. It would also be necessesary to navigate to these Points of Interest and have the notes pop up so that pictures can be taken of the surrounding so that the Waze map can reflect real world situations out there on the road.

    The Waze notes layer (home computer) and the Android phone should be synced so that these notes can be produced while on the road so that you can remember what the issue was with this specific area.

14. Color-coded according to speed in editor

    A feature that had been good when you are editing speed limits would be to go into a "Edit mode for the speed limit" just as the house number.
    That all roads would be color-coded according to speed. and roads with no speed would be gray, so you can easily see which roads have the limitation and which have not.

    Another thing that would be great is that you can put limits whereever on the road and not just at a crossing. Again, just as the house number.

15. Vehicle restricted closures

    Now: the closures are for all vehicles.

    SUG: possibility of applying a closure for a certain type of vehicle and not for others, for example: closures only for taxis.

17. Parking Lots: Show Payment Types only when needed

    Please consider showing the 11 payment types checkboxes only when the "Cost" dropdown has "Low", "Moderate" or "Expensive" selected.

    This will help you to have consistent information too: For example, what does it mean that a free parking log accepts Credit Cards as a payment type?

18. Suppress Live Map Overlay

    Recently a change to Live Map introduced an overlay and call to action footer with information on how to download the Waze app when the URL contains a permalink to a location.

    While this is great for users that have not yet been introduced to Waze, map editors do not need to see it every time they open Live Map from within WME. Fortunately, if the following query string parameters are appended to the URL, both the overlay and call to action are suppressed:

    Recently a change to Live Map introduced an overlay and call to action footer with information on how to download the Waze app when the URL contains a permalink to a location.

    While this is great for users that have not yet been introduced to Waze, map editors do not need to see it every time they open Live Map from within WME. Fortunately, if the following query string parameters are appended to the URL, both the overlay and call to action are suppressed:

    Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

19. Improvment in Instruction override feature

    As you can see in the picture attached, It would be aWazing to have Instead of naming segments with the direction editors wants their TTS pronounce, have it set in the Voice Prompt Over-ride feature.
