Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2023 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

Agreed. Waze can already use geo-location data for both garbage trucks and snowplows should a partner agency want to feed that data back for integration. Something similar might be needed in this case where a school could provide lat/long points where bust stops happen and geo-location sensors transmitting school bus location back to school admins could be paired with that data so if a bus got close to a stop point it would trigger an in-app alert. Alternatively a cellular device that can relay when a bus stop sign swings out would make sense to trigger an alert. This is how snowplows that are in a feed reach the app so when a plow blade is up (location isn't shown) but when "Plow Down" status is detected it indicates a snow plow is actively plowing. Having that same logic might work assuming you could get the feed to function rapidly enough to transmit the stopping bus and present it in the app.
