sound alert for new route
I use my waze on my daily drive, and occasionally when there is a traffic accident, I get re-routed. The problem is that I don't see the little pop-up that says, there's a better route every time. And I end up missing a faster route and being stuck in traffic. A sound alert to tell me I'm re-routed would really help this problem.

Poder definir una ruta para que no pases por seguridad. Ej. Sabemos que tal Avenida es muy insegura y quiero configurar para que el Waze no pase por allá. o Definir una zona que el Waze siempre vá a alertar o desviar por completo el trayecto.

Update app iPhone pic & FAQ
Just like the post "iPhone User Manual WiKi" you need to update the screenshot AND FAQ dealing with "Menu." There is NO "Menu Button" on iPhone 6, it is accessed via swipe left boarder.

Increase the contrast / Change colors at the top + Larger alert when route changes
A couple of times I missed the change of route because the alert it too minimal. I drive with no waze sound, so I do not hear the change. I think this is a critical improvement because of the time you can loose when you miss the change. Thanks!

Add the capability to request assistance when you are the "vehicle on the side or the road"
Many times when driving and passing vehicles that are stopped on the side of the road, i am often inclined to stop and offer assistance. Many times i have stopped just to find out it is something I can not assist with or something for which they already have help on the way for. It would be nice if you have to pull over, you can self report the vehicle on the side of the road and specify if you could use some assistance or not. Like: need help changing a tire, engine trouble, don't have a phone-need a tow,…

Allow developers to add their own created voices to the database and sell their creations on the open market with Waze taking a portion of the profits.

Stop using the word "Accident" completely.
Crashes are not accidents. The NHTSA has stopped using the word accident in all communications. So have many state highway patrols, and local police. So has the medical profession. Please stop using "accident" on Waze, and instead use crash or collision. Accidents are quite rare, and the word is far to subjective to be using like this.

It would be awesome if waze could call for local help when a car is stopped on the side of the road for a confirmed significant length of time, say 30 minutes?

Record traffic warnings
How about the option to record our warnings? "There's a large piece of wood in the center lane." "There's an eighteen-wheeler on the right shoulder." "Everyone has to move to the left lane to go around construction."
Then, Waze would notify us - "Hazard reported one-half mile ahead - [playback recorded warning]."
Two things would be accomplished - the warning would be very specific, and it would require less attention diverted from driving.6 votes -

Show the first / last entrance / exit to a toll pay road if you have a sticker for it e.g. in Hungary.

Commuter tips & tricks
How about using everyones experience in commuting to add tips that pop up while driving a route? example: use the left lane at this intersection to get through faster, or temporary construction right lane closed etc. Utilize the knowledge of people that drive these routes everyday and their daily experience and observations on the route they drive every day.

Keep Waze on top of Lock Screen
This is an option to keep waze on top of the lock screen because I shut the screen off during my commute to save battery and when I press the button to turn it on, it still requires me to unlock my phone before getting back to the Waze navigation screen
95 votesPlease use battery saver mode for such cases. It won’t drain your battery that much, while you’ll still be able to access Waze by a single tap on screen.

To add "you have reached your deatantion
Waze can prevent death by simply adding to the navigation voice "you have reached your destantion and don't forget anything".

App starts in dashboard menu
It would be useful if the app, once opened, went to a dashboard or menu which allows selection of one of many options. Currently it opens right to the map and suggests where I might be going based on previous habits. I would rather have that option available along with other options such as a general search, favorites, home, work, gas, etc. This could easily be done with 6 or so large icons to keep the screen clean. This would also avoid the need to multiple selection when going somewhere other than the defaul that's pops up on the screen.

Give us a target speed in traffic jams to help Waze users optimize average throughput
I recently read this article: http://www.bbc.com/autos/story/20160428-how-ai-will-solve-traffic-part-one
It talks about how going slower and keeping more space between your car and other cars can actually improve the flow of traffic when it's all jammed up. It also explains how autonomous cars will make this work much better, but also indicates that we can help improve things now by changing our driving behavior.
The article also explains how the highway patrol sometimes sends cars through traffic jams on the highway to break it up and re-channelize it.
