  1. improve directions for intersection of Avenue Road and Glencairn Avenue, Toronto, Ontario

Traffic is not allowed to cross Avenue Road on Glencairn Ave., or to turn left - for both eastbound and westbound traffic. There have been many accidents at this site and signs are posted. Yet Waze sends vehicles across Avenue road in a manner that is contrary to local road laws. There is no light or stop sign at this intersection; traffic on Avenue Road is through traffic and not required to stop. Please stop sending vehicles across Avenue Road when they are traveling on Glencairn Ave. in Toronto, Ontario. The accidents cost all of us time and money.

  2. Provide traffic jam alerts 2-5 miles prior to the problem by sending a verbal or written message, or by turning the road red.

  3. Bug in when driving using Navigate adjusting "Avoid Highways and Tolls"

I think that if I am using the Navigate, but then decide to turn on or off the Navigation settings (Settings > Navigation) "Avoid Toll Roads & Avoid Major Highways, it should address this when it refreshes your route, but it does not. I have to completely Stop navigation and restart.

  4. Preferred Roads

Preferred Roads would allow a user to specify a list of roads they are more familiar with and prefer to take where possible, whether manually, or automatically through repetitive driving habits.

If a new route might save me 2 mins I don't care. I would still prefer to use my most familiar roads. If there is an accident and I should avoid to save 10 mins, then it could utilize less familiar roads.

Along the same lines, another collection of roads could be considered roads to avoid. This is different to avoiding Toll road

  5. Use road posted speed limits plus user speeds for in route algorythim

This will help find a better route based on posted speed. Also if we could calculate average speed of wayze users in a route area to help adjust for traffic. as in this road has a posting of 50 MPH but average user speed is 25 this equals bad traffic and should re-route to a road that is 35MP with little to no traffic. to set aside from others who do this allow a setting to limite the number of in route routing adjustments. Some may become overwhelmed with to many re-directions on the fly.

    The direct route is not…

  6. Avoid stop signs! Sometimes is faster the paraller road, because it has a few stops signs!!

I know that waze finds the fastest route, but sometime that street has a lot of Stop signs, and the parallel street doesnt have any, so is faster!! Maybe for a future you could add the stop signs to the maps!! For you to take note: In Costa Rica there isn't 4 stop ways or 3 stop way, in an intersection, here there is always a road who has the way, and the other has the stop sign. Srry for my english, isnt my native language!!

  7. Android Auto 2019 GUI - add speed display/warning/ road incidentsin footer

When no destination is set and Waze map is not selected, the footer only displays the Waze icon and leaves a large empty area -> additional minimized information can be added: road incident or current speed/overspeed information

  8. Why is the road works warning now a generic ‘Hazard’?

It’s important to give warnings as specific as possible so a driver concentrates on the road rather than studying a screen to find out what’s up. Forcing me to divert my attention to phone or display screen is downright dangerous. Please revert to specific warnings in the interest of road safety.

  9. report on a road I'm not on

I would like to be able to report activity that I'm not necessarily in the middle of. For example, I just exited a parkway right before massive traffic which was being caused by an accident with a lot of police activity, but because I didn't stay on the road I'm not able to report it to help others.

  10. Vehicle and road type selection

I own car and motorcycle. I can only select one vehicle. While in car I don't want to go through unpaved roads. But while on my bike I'd love to be sent to my destination over unpaved roads. If there was a way to select 2 vehicles and customize the route for each. That would be a cherry on the cake. Then when starting a GPS guidance you could choose weather to use a car or bike route.

  11. Treat roads with RTC as routable pedestrian path

Right now, when trying to route to a destination on a closed road, it's pretty much like the road no longer exists and Waze will route to the nearest open road.

Sometimes, this means that users will be routed somewhere completely different, like to the middle of a highway, to the other side of a raildroad track into a completely different neighbourhood, etc.

Segments with RTCs on them should be treated as a routable pedestrian path: route the driver to the closest entry point.

  13. Enhance Route Planning with Flexible Toll/Vignette Options and Reminder Features

Introducing customizable toll and vignette options, along with reminder settings for expirations and automatic removal of expired passes, would greatly improve user satisfaction and navigation accuracy.

Many countries offer various toll and vignette options based on different time durations (e.g., 1 day, 10 days, 1 month). By allowing users to select these flexible options in Waze, navigation would cater to their specific travel plans, preventing unnecessary detours away from toll roads or vignettes.

Additionally, incorporating a reminder feature would enable users to set alerts for upcoming toll and vignette expirations (e.g., 1, 2, 3, or 7 days in advance).…

  14. Display number of Waze users ahead of you on the same road.

This will give the Waze user an indication on the quality of the time sensitive Police/Crash/Hazard/Camera information.
It gives me a comfortable feeling when there are no reports on my current road and I see that there are 5 users ahead of me.
In this image you can see they already do it in the flitsmeister.nl app: https://photos.app.goo.gl/X293cQGSuz4VNxxe8

  15. Filter all reporting except police and road hazards

WAZE constantly audio alerts when riding down Lobethal Rd (Adelaide, South Australia):

    www.google.com.au/maps/@-34.9413414,138.768338,696m/data=!3m1!1e3

I am not sure why it is alerting. Quick visual glances of the WAZE display reveals nothing. The constant alerting makes the audio warning feature useless as it becomes oblivious. It would be good to filter out all alerts except police and road hazards.

  16. Avoid Small Road : Especially on car, we prefer bigger road, which will provide less accident risk, altought the distance increase.

Especially on car, we prefer bigger road, which will provide less accident risk, altought the distance and traffic could increase. Some of us aren't that expert drivers, and some of us also using luxury cars that we need to reduce accident probability at all

  17. Add ERP timing into Singapore Map

It will be better if routing can include erp/toll timing automatically. if user set to avoid erp/toll, but the timing of specific erp/toll is already over, then there is no need to avoid that route! So in this sense, route calculated from point A to point B will include erp/toll if the erp/toll on that route is already off, and it's calculated based on shortest road. If it's not, then will continue to navigate from A to B using the avoid erp/toll options automatically.

  18. Rideshare Pickup and Dropoff on Right Side of Road

I use Waze for rideshare, and would be great to have an option in taxi mode to be routed where I drop off or pick up a passenger on the right side of the road. This would be a good option as long as it doesn’t take me too far out of the way. I guess in some countries the left side may be preferred.

  19. Directions should use only actual destination, not full road sign text

Sometimes a road sign lists two different destinations. Waze reads the whole content of the sign and not just my destination. This makes me unsure if I'm on the right route.

  20. Move the "Vehicule on shoulder of the road" reporting icon direct on the first page"

Since 90% of the reporting are 'Vehicule on shoulder of the road", why not move it straight on the first page of the reporting procedure. It would cut the number of clicks by 3 ! (Danger/Side road/vehicule stand still)
