Too many detours off the route and then right back to the same route
We were driving last night using the app and numerous times it wanted us to exit, make 8 or so turns and return to the same route! Very distracting and it was late!

why is there no ambulance car option? and option to show hospitals on map? I am an EMT who uses Waze at work all the time!
Add ambulance icon to car options, and an option to show hospitals, maybe even the closest ER facility to current location! I use Waze all the time at work as an EMT, and while the first suggestion would just be a treat for those, like me, in the EMS field, the second option would have the ability to assuage new EMTs fears of not knowing the closest hospital facility (we cover ALL of Colorado, though mainly Denver metro area, but still a huge area to learn when you're new).

pre-select most commonly used updates into nav screen buttons
Have one main button on the navigation map screen that when pressed dynamically separates into 6 buttons (3 on the left [upper corner, midlevel, lower corner], 3 on the right). This would cut down on the clutter when an update is not needed.
Allow the user to customize these buttons to their most commonly used ones. For me, they would be car on the shoulder, heavy traffic, and hidden cop. If the update was on my side of the road, I would customize these to the right 3 buttons. If they were on the opposite side, I could customize these…

Multiple Entries in the Phone D <irectory.
The initial setup populated my phone directory with duplicates making it now three times larger, separating each Google account. It should only attach itself to the primary account directory and give the option to include or exclude contacts.

Please add the ability to search for closest poi to my current route.
If I am already driving using your app, I would like the ability to search for food, a bank, or a coffee shop not too far off my route. You guys already calculate the time off route but if you add my suggestion it would make your app that much better.

Less ads
I am having trouble because of the amount of ads coming to my screen. I barely can see the way and I need to touch the phone while driving.

Transparent notification and navigation bars
Waze can make both nav and notifications bar of Android transparent. That way we can have a more immersive map app.

iPhone Reporting
It would help if your location could freeze while you're making a report that way the location is more accurate. Now when you make a report your passing the location almost a mile before you get a chance to put in the information

I'm thinking on replacing my car's speedometer with it
I like your app so much, I'm thinking of replacing my car's speedometer with it. Can you recommend a 7"~8~ tablet with GPS that would work well in that role. I will dedicate the tablet for that purpose.

Speed Trap notifications
I'd like to see permanent or semi-permanent notifications for known speed traps. I'd also like to post about said traps so others don't get caught but can't figure out how to drop a notification remotely

Buses live - drivers catch buses too
Use the facility that you have but simply add the bus number that you are on. People can then see wherever their next bus is (live input from WAZE users) or see where the alternatives are. Set up simple: Which city are you in? e.g. Brisbane Australia (stays as the default location setting). Have a button for Buses (a BAZE button). What bus are you on? 180 - and that's it. You may make it that at least 3 people need to enter the number to be valid and it would be good to drop people off if the bus…

Reporting Long Light Cycles
I recently sat at a left turn signal for 4 or 5 cycles. I wanted to report a LONG light so others didn't try to turn there too. Currently I cannot do that.

add slow moving vehicle category
add a category whichwould allow users to identify if there are slow moving vehicles such as semi trucks Amish buggies or farm vehicles on route

Turn off "thank you" notifications!!
I don't like my screen being cluttered with dozens of notifications, and my notification center being filled etc with dozens on unnecessary thank yous!! It makes me want to stop using the app! Please include the ability to TURN THIS OFF!!

Mute voice guidance near home/work
Please have an option to mute the voice guidance in a radius of [X] distance from my home, and/or from work. Alerts should not be muted by this setting.
It's annoying that I have to listen to voice guidance near my home -- I know how to get from my house to the main road, thank you very much! But turning the voice off and on again during the drive (during every drive!) is a nuisance and a safety risk.

Reduce FPS and disable animations to save battery
Some navigation apps save battery by refreshing less often, except around instructions points (ie. turns, exits, etc.). When the user is supposed to simply follow the road for a long time, the refresh rate could be as low as once every 5 seconds.
Waze could also offer an option to disable transition effects (smooth rotation around current position, streets fade in and out, menu animations, etc.).
