Offline map and directions available.
Offline map and directions available for driving abroad without the use of internet (roaming).
Thanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Yes please! I live and vacation in rural areas, and it's no fun to be on a trip, lose cell reception and have the map eventually go blank. I wouldn't even care if it didn't download all possible options, in case I got lost, or try to download the accident reports for the area (though that would be a bonus).
Google Maps now lets you download routes for when/if you lose connectivity. Waze should definitely match this feature! :-)
Thanks

Lots of people want something that works off-line!
I recently was in the mountains missed a turn and got the dreaded "can't connect to routing server" message. Thank goodness for paper maps.
I would suggest that if you KNOW you are going into no-data land, you should be able to pre-fetch enough maps around you to get out of trouble. This would be an OPTION as it would need to use a lot of storage for the duration and would be slower not as comprehensive but would -work-

It is not possible to get a basic map basis and offline data required for operating the Waze doplnobvat online?
You plan and 3D navigation as Garmin or TomTom ?
Navigation lanes , etc. -

Make Waze an offline app not totally dependent on the internet connection even if it is a paid upgrade. Garmin has traffic that doesn't rely on the internet totally....

General roaming tariff outside the EU is ~ 10EUR / Mbyte.
I would not risk to use mobile data roaming on Android devices in those countries, thus I simply not use Waze abroad.

offline maps for driving in place devoid of data connection. This is one function that is a must to make waze completely functional.

When waze calculates a route in a low or no signal area but then acquires a network connection it recalculates. If however the signal drops during recalculation it stops routing altogether. This is a pain when you actually need directions and it keeps happening making you miss a turn. It would be much better if it only stopped offline routing when the calculation is complete and if it fails reverts back to offline automatically.

We know that many regions still do not have network signal quality or non-existent, but need mapping to help travelers who pass by these places.
My suggestion is to do mapping using Waze GPS device data, through the paving tool, like Google does on the History of Customer Location.
Note: We know that GPS does not need to run a mobile network location, just is enabled and device that has the technology. -

I would like a switch that will turn on or off minimal data usage within settings. When I went away for the weekend to Paris (from The Netherlands), the navigationguidance was in French witch is not my native language. I used almost 18mb for the trip. The sugested switch would prohibit Waze from downloading (large) files that are not needed for navigation, when connected to the mobile (roaming) network.

Offline maps of Europe could help. Recently I drive a cross Europe from Uk to Poland and I had lots of problems with waze with no internet abroad. Eventually I had to use Sygic trial

I don't think my previous submission here worked because of some sort of JavaScript assumption that there's only ever one dot in an email domain. Anyway, here's my suggestion again. Waze incorrectly displays the map and recalculated your route when construction on a divided highway diverts you to the other side (I.e. 2 way traffic on one side of the divided highway with a barrier between them). Waze shows you going backwards (scrolls in reverse) and you lose your route so that you no longer can see what your next exit is. So u think waze should decide on the direction to display the map based on the direction you're going instead of on which side of the highway you're on because this is a common construction detour. It should also be smart enough to not recalculate the route.

amazing application. But when you lose the gps like in a tunnel, may be you can let it run with the last speed recorded.

Could have mapped almost 2k miles last week and 2k miles another route later this week. I will have sporadic connection... - its a shame my driving wont fully contribute and I won't log the full miles...

Waze needs to be allowed offline, this means it should keep counting your miles, calculate navigation options, and report map issue reports... these should be stored in the phone and uploaded once online again!
