UPDATE SECTION: Warning on the route
Currently, if we are on a highway with 2, 3 or more strips per sense, and an accident is reported, although the road is crowded, we do not know which band to fall in to avoid the accident.
After the warning buttons like: accident, hole, works, etc
Show the selection of the band on which the warning is placed
Let's have options, three lanes.
This will help us whether we are on a road with a band, or that we are on a 5-lane highway

Show Number of Tolls on Route (Dubai - Salik)
As a daily Waze user in Dubai, UAE, I’d like to suggest a highly practical feature for local drivers:
Please show the total number of Salik tolls, estimated toll cost, and approximate fuel cost before starting navigation.
Right now, Waze only warns that “this route has tolls,” but doesn’t show how many or how much they’ll cost. In Dubai, every Salik gate costs AED 4, and it would really help to display something like:🛣️ This route has 3 Salik tolls (AED 12 total)
⛽ Estimated fuel cost: AED 10

Feedback on the deviation from suggested route
Instead of asking riders to stop and report, like when they take a detour. Why cant we ask for a feedback for diverting from the suggested route.
Also a one tap button to report, which we can detail out at the end of the journey.

Route with less traffic even if it takes longer
I hate stop and go traffic. I don't mind a longer travel if it means avoiding stop and go traffic.
Please add option to take alternate route that avoids heavy traffic even if it takes like 10 minutes longer. User should be able to set how much longer.

Improve display for alternate routs
When alternate routs are displayed, the route description is displayed in small, grey, hard to read font. A larger and darker font would help.
This option of alternate routs is useful during drive to conclude if a suggested "exotic" route really save significant time.6 votes -
Share route color band needs to be in different color with traffic color band.
The current share route color is green which is the same as none congested traffic color band. The same color bands created confusion to the user. I really can’t understand why this kind of mistake not being picked up by the UI designer. Please fix it asap!

Personalized routes
Would be nice to be able to select which routes are more preferable in terms of time/length/convenience. Example: prefer long route vs traffic jam, or faster route vs shortest, or hard faster route vs nice longer road.
Basically allow to choose what's more important - time, money (gas), complexity (novice drivers prefer less crowded roads), maybe even "nice view" coefficient, and adjust the way Waze calculates the route for the individual.6 votes -
Route through road closures
During last week Verizon had to support the first responders was satellite assets for their communications. We were able to go through road closures. I would like the ability to turn off the reroute around road closures so that the people that can actually go through the road closures can be routed to their destination lot faster because of Waze and other map programs we could not rout ourselves to the locations that we needed to go to, I am Sure that the mini first responders that were at the Ruidoso Fire had the same issue

Allow setting a maximum number of toll gates in route planning
Dear Waze Product Team,
I have a suggestion that would greatly benefit users travelling in toll-gated cities like Dubai.
Feature: Allow users to specify a maximum number of Salik toll gates they are okay with during a route search.
For example: “Avoid more than 2 Salik gates”
Waze would then show routes that meet this preference, while also displaying the number of Salik gates per route.
This feature would help users:
Control toll expenses and plan budgets.
Avoid surprises from unexpected toll gates.
Choose routes tailored to personal priorities (shortest time vs. fewer tolls).

Prevent route popup when using android auto
Route popup always appears on start up. This is not always wanted as it hogs up the screen and each journey does not require a defined destination.
Adding an option to turn on/off on start up would be nice.

It would be nice to have a sound mode option that only makes a sound if there is a change in route ahead.

Route Suggestions are not the BEST! Have thubms UP, when WAZE does a good job.
On some days, Waze suggests some really amazing detours and it saves a lot of GAS, as the vehicle is constantly moving. Also, the route saves you time. At other times, WAZE take you straight into Traffic or to a route, with building up traffic, and then asks "Are you stuck in Traffic". Really !!!. You told me to go there.
There should be a way to give WAZE thumbs up, for saving time. and Thumbs DOWN for suggesting a route with more traffic with no options for detour.

adding second rout icon that show the next best route and the time will take
we as Humans always feel that the neighbor grass is greener and the route we took is not really the best one.
my idea is to add an icon showing the best second route at a high level with time to the destination. sometimes for a couple of more minutes but better road I will prefer changing my way ....

Automatic Alternative Routes
Give automatic alternative routes. I like Waze but I use Google maps because of the automatic alternative routes choices. Google maps can also calculate a route if I make a wrong turn. I am in my car as part of my job and I need this option for traffic jams, accidents, etc.

Minimum time buffer for changing routes
Please, please build in a minimum time 'buffer' under which Waze would not change the selected route. For example, if I put 10 minutes in the buffer, any route change which would save less than 10 mins.would not be made.

Samsung back button [ < ] closes app instead of cancelling route.
Please add android support for device's back button so that it cancels the current route instead of confirming if the app should exit.

Make alternative routes tappable directly on the map like GMaps.
Hoping for tappable alternative routes on the map, which also shows time difference from the suggested route. This was a feature I liked a lot in GMaps.

Localized Highway Shields (State & County Routes, etc)
In the U.S., each state has its own highway route number shield. Some states, like West Virginia, also have county route shields that differ from the state route shields. In Pennsylvania, a route like Route 28 would show the Keystone with a 28 on top of it.
A lot of effort is taken in WME to ensure the road names and turn-by-turn instructions match signage. Drivers would benefit by having the same highway shields in their Waze app as they will see on the highway signage as they drive.
