2 votesThank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze offers HOV routing for taxis. To change your vehicle type go to Settings > Vehicle type. There are currently no plans to add more HOV options.

police: trailing/leading (in motion vs stationary)
Reports of stationary police are nice, but reporting highway patrol on the prowl with that feature is untenable.
Please consider a feature to report actively pacing highway patrol with modifier for leading (ahead of officer), or trailing (behind officer).
There should be an option to anonymize the report should one be traveling WITH- or accelerating AWAY from- the highway patrol at speeds exceeding posted limits.

Speed up the opening page
App lacks responsiveness when first open. This has gotten worst over time.
When open. I want to select or enter location, but WAZE is none responsive “tapping on screen has no effect”. This all happens during initial entry.

More options for changing distance units
Having the map directions/ETA distance units option as well as the speed limit option. For example, the map directions/ETA in kms and then showing the speed limit in miles.
This would be useful for someone driving out of country to be aware of the speed limit while maintaining their preferred units for the directions.
I am a Canadian living in the US therefore am driving in miles/speed limit is in miles but I have a better sense of distance in kms.8 votes -
Mph and metres for directions.
It’s very simple. Two toggle options. To change the speed unit to mph for the speed limit but be able to keep the directions in metres for those shorter turnings and directions in town. In England we use mph and how many miles to but after that we commonly talk about metres. So I am asking for another option so that people can customise the speed limit alerts and the distance to alerts.

MORE navigation options, in addition to shorter time or distance
I would LOVE for waze to have multiple options for routes. For instance :
Standard options:
- shortest distance
- shortest time
Standard avoids :
- avoid toll roads
- avoid highwaysNew ones:
- least turns
- least traffic lights ;New avoiding routes:
- avoid construction routes
- avoid one lane streets

Enable Speech-to-Text for Map Update Requests While Driving (via Android Auto and CarPlay)
I would like to suggest an improvement to Waze that would allow users to fill out map update requests (URs) using speech-to-text while driving, particularly when connected through Android Auto or CarPlay.
Currently, when users select a map update option (such as "Incorrect address," "Missing road," or "Speed limit") while driving, there is no way to add a description of the issue. This limits the ability to provide detailed reports and often results in incomplete information being submitted. With speech-to-text functionality, users could quickly and safely dictate descriptions of the problem without having to stop or manually type anything.

Stay on Major Road Option, Longer Distance, Faster Time
Give a route option to stay on MAJOR roads, state roads and highways, and choice of a slightly longer distance, but shorter time driving. Waze always takes me off the interstate or major state road to save a few miles off of my route, but in doing so I go through every stop sign, speed table, neighborhood and school zone possible. Sure it saved me a couple of miles, but added loads of frustrating time to my drive, increased gas usage and increased wear and tear on my car.

Option for reporting closed roads in map editor with start and end time
During big events many roads can be closed. It would be great if map editors (maybe only lvl2+) could report this directly in the map editor with a given start time and end time.

Upcoming driver-based alerts bar below navigation
I would like to request a features which enables the users to show or hide a bar which contains the upcoming X driver-based alerts like hazards, police traps, etc. It could be switched on or off from the settings and its height should be like the "and then navigation". It would show like: Police 200m, Hazard 1.4km. So the user would know the upcoming alerts. It would help to know the polices and hazards in advance, so you don't have to check or scroll while driving. Thanks.

Add reporting by voice , and place speed in smaller box middle of screen, make top navigation arrows box smaller

Android Auto temp and time remaining
Hi - I am glad to see the Waze split screen on Android Auto. Could you please add back the trip time remaining? Right now, it just shows time of arrival and miles remaining. Also, can you add back temperature? Thanks!

Also, don't allow a single user to remove a police icon. It's too easy for the police to click "not there" themselves on a dummy account and it disappears.

Add "Construction" to Hazards > Shoulder
I often see shoulder construction which impacts highway speed, but can only report as either Vehicle stopped on shoulder or On Road > Construction

The 'Leave Later' option should have 5-minute time increments. Most of the time, 15-minute increments is too much.

Show potential variance in route time
It seems that Waze picks the best route at the time navigation starts.
With all the timing and route information that Waze and Google collects, it should be easy to calculate a good variance for the time of day.
It might be nice if Waze could display a midspread or "middle 50%" time, i.e. the time estimate for 50% of all drivers on that route at that time of day.
So maybe below the estimated arrival of "9:02", it would show "(9:00 - 9:15)"
It'd be even better if it took this into consideration when routing, like preferring a…

You can see there is or there isn't police car, but policescan radar not all wazers see, because it is small, night time, put near trees, or in the back. I think if somebody mark hidden police, and other wazers can't unmark it 4-6hours it will be better

Waze powered social speed alert standalone device for car with data built in
Speed camera warning devices are always out of date and don’t warn of police sat by the road or mobile vans. I would like a standalone device connected to the internet and with an audio and I visual warning in a discreet package.
