Alerts now Overlap Turn-by-Turn
The on-screen messaging has become very large in the new Android Auto UI - Turn-by-Turn is big, buttons across the top overlay the map...
When an alert comes on the screen now, it is also quite large but the problem is that it's positioned over some turn-by-turn info that you may really need at that moment in time.
Can you reposition the alert or make it smaller, or give us an option to use Medium font for the UI instead of jumbo? I get that it's easier to glance at when driving, but we need to see the really important…1 vote -

Hi Waze team,
I hope you're doing well. I'd love to suggest a feature that I've found useful in other navigation systems like TomTom AmiGo. It calculates the driver's personal average speed when passing through average speed camera zones. This speed is displayed on-screen and also read out aloud upon exit, ensuring drivers stay aware without having to constantly check their screens.
Adding this to Waze would be a fantastic way to enhance driver awareness and road safety. I hope you'll consider incorporating this functionality into your app.

Wildlife
Within the hazards section there should be a report button for wildlife helping warn motorists to remain vigilant, which when reported also sends an alert to the respective wildlife protection agency in that region to send a dispatch to prevent the animal from causing an accident and becoming injured. This would be extremely useful in Australia as we have an abundance of wildlife that resides near our roads .

Toll amount display should adjust as you go along trip. Just like distance and time.
I live in an area of Florida (US) that has toll roads everywhere, It would be nice if as you pass a toll, the toll amount displayed would adjust to what amount remains as opposed to the unchanged toll total for the trip. Just like Time and mileage adjust so you know whats left. It is much more informative to know how much you have left to help decide if getting off a toll road makes sense or not.

"Favorite" Hazard Button on Main Screen
ADD single-push hazard button on main screen that activates "Vehicle Stopped on Shoulder Ahead," which has to be the NO. 1 hazard all drivers face and encounter.
Pressing 5 buttons to alert others of a "Vehicle Stopped on Shoulder Ahead" is a hazard itself. Now, we click the "Alert" button, then we click the "Hazard" button, then we click the "Shoulder" button, then we click the "Vehicle Stopped" button, then we click the "Send" button.
On my bi-weekly 3-hour trips, I go through that routine 20 times per trip. Clicking 5 buttons for ANYTHING discourages people from using…

Introduce a new routing option for CO2 reduction
Provide a new navigation option that reduces the CO2 emissions in a typical combustion engine vehicle. Possibly balancing speed vs. distance this can be optimized.

Push local "Amber Alerts" from authorities to all user in specific city or county.
Help with the quicker relay of this important information from the authorities to every user on the road in a specific area...help recover stolen or lost kids in danger!!

Sound alert on/off toggle for re-routing notifications
I am a professional heavy vehicle driver and use Waze constantly. As only one additional stop is allowed, I take numerous side trips off my set designated route. The constant rerouting sound is quite annoying and personally, I dont need to be notified audibly that I am leaving the nominated route and would like the option to turn it off when not needed.

Waze seems to find destination that are in other countries. Please allow setting of limits on the distance and/or locations. I am in Canada and I've gotten destinations in England. I drive a car, not a boat.

I would love to have speed limits added to the app. It would help avoid traps. Because knowing a cop is ahead doesn't help Without it
I would love to see the speed limit added to the app with an alert letting you know it is about to change! Because knowing a cop is ahead doesn't no good if there is a speed cage over a hill and the cop is setting there! There are traps set up like this all over. And this would eleminate small town traps.

Fade music on alerts/notifications/Turn-by-Turn
It would be really nice if Waze faded music during audio events (not pause.. pause is a little bit jerky and makes you lose the music beat)
I use my phone (Android) as a Media Center on my car, it controls the audio and video on it. I play music using it (outstanding equalizer settings and audio effects), and the fade function is really necessary so I don't keep distracting looking for corners on GPS.
Also, on my own opinion, fading looks real classy and professional.Original Google Maps' software does that fading, but I don't want to go back…

"THANK YOU" banner never goes away after posting alert, unless you restart the app.

Adding Roadside Animal detection system to Waze as a feature will help reduce animal roadkill problem.
Roadside Animal Detection (RADAR) systems – A computerized signs with flashing light stripped when an animal breaks a light beam . These can reduce collisions with large animals. These alerts and captured images can also be sent to different GPS apps like Waze, so that drivers coming by on that road can be alerted through their GPS apps and slow down when crossing that area.

Some bugs encountered with the application
I use Waze very frequently for my work. Both as a GPS and as an assistant for road hazards.
I've noticed a few anomalies in Android Auto.When I approach a speed camera, Waze informs me about it and the distance. As soon as I have passed the zone, the "Speed camera" indication remains on the screen and Waze does not provide any other information.
I have taken some pictures of the problem encountered. If you want them, let me know where I should send them.Thank you.

Average speed zone label covers up the speed limit
When you enter an average speed zone, the green bar on the left appears. Also a label appears at the bottom showing what distance the zone covers. Annoyingly this label covers up the current speed limit badge, so you can't see what the limit is until the label disappears or moves up far enough.

Estimated Time not shown before clicking Go Now
When you enter the Where To, it gives the distance but NOT the estimated driving time. You only see the time when you click Go Now which starts the actual navigation when all I want to know is how long it would take to get there so I can know to plan ahead eg for making appointments.

Add mobile radar button that are fixed on the tripod.
Some police in certain countries use this method. They are used at highway exits where the speed must be reduced suddenly. This tripod is very difficult to notice, but the police can see everything from a distance. The same in the case of drones.3 votes -
Add Parking Lot Available Button
When you're starting a trip and leaving a public parking lot, you can use the button to alert every user being nearby the parking lot or ending his trip nearby the parkin lot

Map scale indicator
Have you ever wondered how many miles long that traffic jam is up ahead? I sure have, but Waze gives no indication of distances on a map. How about one of the little bars that indicates the scale of the current map view - you know 1 inch equals a mile, etc.

COVID testing center wait time, traffic
I was trying to get covid test for my daughter this weekend and couldn't find out what places didn't have a wait line. Like traffic, I thought this would be a good opportunity for Waze to have people add a Covid testing alert or comment at a site to let others know the wait times. Or for Waze to recognize how many people are heading there? This would be a huge relief to people during this stressful time.
