Hi,
I love the app use it almost every day!
I have several ideas to improve the Waze app.
• Bring back the police and on road icons, this enables us to see relative distance to reporting
• Allow mobile and directional reporting of police
• Allow inside or outside lane reporting of hazards
• Post reports of police both directions as we have officers who wait in median
• Allow directions to closest officer for emergency use.
• Allow return to normal speed after clearing of congested roadways

screen rotation
Screen rotation. I use Waze on android, and I don't have a phone holder in many of the vehicles I drive for work, so I invert my phone (because the charging cable is plugged in) and put it in the cup holder. The map does not re-orient with the phone rotation, so the map and everything on it is upside down. It's been like this for a long time and I'm kinda getting used to it, but it would be nice to not perform mental gymnastics to figure out what I need to do while I'm also supposed to be…

In-app option to turn off familiarity capping
Give the users the option to always display Speed Cameras and Hazards that familiarity capping would otherwise remove from the display.

Allow Waze to work on iPhone 5
Waze no longer works on iPhone 5 (iOS 10.3.4) since version 4.68. Please allow Waze to work on this phone again.

Connect drivers waze to a passengers waze
Let the passenger to edit the Waze route so that the driver can get it directly from the passengers phone. This will allow the driver to keep driving and having to worry about typing in new stops
on the phone while driving. If you need to find a gas station or somewhere to eat.This will make it a lot easier during longer driving sessions.

Location services
Under Locations in our phones Waze has to be set to Always or Never while apps such as Maps and Lyft has the choices of Never or While Using. I think waze should also only use or location services while we are using the app. We don't need Waze to be tracking our location and wasting our battery every second of the day but only while we are using the app. This can obviously be made possible. If Maps and Lyft allows us this common sense option, then Waze should too.

Please allow Waze to rotate when the phone is upside down this occurred on my old iPhone but when I upgrade that feature was lost. It makes charging and using Waze impossible in my car. Super annoying and pretty much a deal breaker for me.

Various suggestions taken from other systems
Hello everyone,
after a period where I have been a passenger of friends and colleagues ( due to surgery ) I decided to write down what, in my opinion, can be insights to further improve this navigation system.As a first suggestion ( I copy the idea from AmiGo ) is to make the indication of the speed limit and current speed more intuitive and readable by using colors inside the speedometer. The idea of verbally indicating the speed of speed cameras can also be very helpful.

Use the device built-in address book for navigating
Your phones address book probably contains many addresses of all your friends. Waze should be able to navigate to addresses from your contacts directly.

iOS battery is being drained, maybe because of OLED support?
Waze app is crushing my battery. Maybe the ios X update for oled support is doing it but i can watch my battery tick down because of the app. And yes, I have gone so far as to isolate just waze working on the phone and nothing else...it is WAZE draining my battery

Exit Waze when disconnecting from Apple CarPlay
I love Waze for longer journeys, using it with Apple CarPlay. But I don't need it for popping to the shops - i.e. most daily journeys.
However the App starts up on my phone every time I get in the car regardless, and then continues running even after I get out. It really drains my phone battery. I have to remember to close it manually. I can't find a way to stop this behaviour - it is a real pain.
I'm sure it wasn't always like this, but this means I have had to disable Waze on my CarPlay setup.

Improve Waze for all (professional drivers like taxi drivers, truck drivers and bus drivers as well)
Feedback for Waze Improvements (Australia-specific but globally relevant):
1. Map and Speed Limit Accuracy
• Please update maps and speed limit data more frequently, especially in Australia where road rules and limits are often updated.
• Ensure that the speedometer always shows the correct speed limit without disappearing or failing, as this can mislead drivers and cause unintentional speeding.
• Improve reliability so the speedometer never stops working unexpectedly.
2. Audible Alerts and Driver Focus
• Introduce louder and clearer spoken alerts for every speed limit change, so drivers do not have to look at their phone screen.

Launcher not functional
The latest update prevents use on the mobile screen while connected to Android Auto. The button to intentionally exclude Waze from the Android launcher is not functional. The Waze map only works on the car screen (if Waze is included in the launcher). If Waze is not in the launcher, the map does not work on the phone and, regardless of the settings, it refers to Android Auto and only displays line-by-line navigation commands on the phone, not the map. Please restore the original settings and fix the update error!

Detect different bluetooth/headunits for pre-set profile and settings.
As someone who rides a motorcycle and drives I would like to set different vehicle types based on device it is detecting. Like I would like if I connect to my car, no audible alerts and the routes that are best for that vehicle. But should I connect to my helmet communicator I would like if Waze knows that I would need audible alerts and motorcycle routes.

Saved places on web interface or import
It would be great to have a way to add/edit saved places from the web interface or to have some form of importing them.
In case you have to add/edit more places, it’s easier with an actual keyboard and a big screen instead of the phone screen.6 votes -
Road Colouring on Average Speed Check Zone
When driving in an average speed check zone, Waze doesn’t say when you have left it - so can be driving for miles past the end.
Can Waze change the colour or pattern of the road to show drivers when they are in the zone and not just passing the cameras.16 votes -
