1. Speed cameras / radars notifications on iOS CarPlay only over speed limit.

   Hi there,

   I live in Dubai, where you can go up to 20km/h over the speed limit before the speed camera / radar actually jumps. There is a speed camera / radar each kilometer, so the amount of alerts you get on the CarPlay display is HUGE.

   Also, I saw that you can configure Waze to inform about the speed limit on different speeds and level, like "+5km/h" or similar.

   I would like to suggest the same regarding the speed camera / radar alerts, as I want to get informed but only when / if I go over a certain speed limit. Otherwise, I get an alert every second and I cannot see properly the screen or have to manually cancel them each time (or disable, so makes no sense).

   The idea is to setup a speed limit margin or speed camera / radar margin, so if you drive over that speed, the alert will show.
   Example:
   - speed limit 110km/h
   - speed camera / radar triggers at 131km/h (20 good, 20+1 photo)
   - alerts on, "show in the map", "notify while driving" AND "notify if your speed will trigger".
   - so, if I do 125km/h, only show in the map and everything good. If I go 131km/h, the app will notify and you can slow down.

2. Address links don't work when connected to Android Auto

   The integration with AA continues to be frustratingly limited by the insistence upon making the mobile app unusable while connected.

   After recent updates, I find it nearly impossible to navigate anywhere of I'm driving and connected to Android Auto. When I use the voice search, it correctly identifies what I asked to search for but then lists no results. If I tap an address link from my phone (ie: from a Contact detail view) and open the link with Waze, this integration has broken down and the address never gets passed through to the head unit. I can't search for anything using the deck while in motion because it disables the keyboard. So, basically, if I'm in motion and need directions, the only locations Waze will allow me to navigate to while connected are my presets for Home/Work and my most recents. For anything else, I would need to pull over.

   This isn't practical; it's a horrible user experience; and it's unlikely to be the solution most users will opt for.

   The silly "safety precautions" of limiting interaction on the head unit and doubling down by disabling interaction with the mobile app come from what I would imagine are good intentions: don't encourage distracted driving. My argument against them, though, is that you aren't mitigating that risk: in fact, you're increasing it. People are much less likely to pull off the road just to select an address they already have listed on their phones. They're more likely to simply disconnect AA, let Waze work properly to start navigation, then reconnect AA. Your insistence on making the interaction more tedious and frustrating to use while driving only creates more of a distraction while users are forced to spend even more time not focused on the road.

   Please fix the passthrough so that Waze, while connected to AA, can successfully receive an address and start navigating to it while driving.

   Also, please stop trying to force good driving habits and general behavior on users and stick to making your app work as great as possible.

3. Pile Up Warning

   Recently I avoided a near miss i attribute primarily to Waze giving me the advanced warning of trouble ahead. About a week later is when Texas suffered a 100+ car pile up and I thought wait a minute.

   I'd like to see the ability to report a "pile up" accident. I believe this should activate a push notification to users who have Waze installed, are on that road, and heading in that direction and when I say push, I mean push!
   Have blinking warning, audible voice saying " warning, major pileup ahead!"
   
   "Turn on your hazard lights, cautiously begin to slow down, and exit the freeway if possible."

   This could even be tied into an emergency broadcast system to notify drivers who may not have waze of the danger ahead.

   To prevent abuse, perhaps law enforcement should be provided a way of activating this system. For the public, perhaps require personal information and a warning that activating the system without reason could result in prosecution. Or, require multiple confirming reports of an incident before activation.

4. Police reporting needs to be on main map instead of sub-menu

   All three police reporting buttons need to be displayed on the main map, since these are the three buttons that you'll use the most. Having to click into a sub-menu and find the button that you need while driving is entirely too distracting while driving. It would be much safer if users were able to simply click the 'police visible', 'police hidden', or 'police - other side' buttons, without having to access a sub-menu.

   There are two things that people use Waze for: traffic routing and police reporting. All other things in the reporting sub-menu are extra and can stay hidden.

   All three police reporting buttons need to be displayed on the main map, since these are the three buttons that you'll use the most.    I am a frequent user of your navigation app and truly consider it one of the best available. However, I have a suggestion for a feature that would significantly improve the user experience.

   Currently, during active navigation, the option to view alternative routes is not always available or consistently detailed. Often, I intuitively know a different route that might save time or distance, but the app doesn't provide a easy way to compare.

   1. Consistently offer alternative route options during navigation.

6. School/Teamk/event emoticons. Lost on way to game? See the similarly clad Wazers in team gear!

   Say you're traveling down Interstate 75 headed for Floida A&M University in Tallahassee, but you get lost near a well-known shortcut in Tifton, Georgia. Never fear! Your Waze app shows nearby drivers clad in FAMU gear, and they are all headed in the same direction! Follow them, sort of how you might notice groups of FAMU license plates headed in the same direction. But Waze allows you to look for your fellow FAMUans further down the road! This concept could also work for events/conference, etc. Thanks for considering this idea!

7. Always-Visible Destination in Android Auto Navigation

   I’d like to suggest a feature improvement for Android Auto navigation. Currently, once a destination is selected, the system immediately switches to turn-by-turn directions, and the destination name or address is no longer visible on the screen. This becomes an issue when a wrong destination is accidentally selected, and it’s only realized partway through the drive.

   It would be very helpful if the destination (name and/or address) could be displayed persistently somewhere on the screen—either at the top or bottom—throughout the navigation. This would allow drivers to quickly verify the destination without needing to tap or search through menus, which is unsafe while driving.

   This small addition could significantly improve driving safety and user confidence.

8. Dimming Radio Audio

   I've recently started using Waze especially since installing an Android Auto Headunit on my car. Enjoyed using it over Google maps for the more accurate GPS positioning it has but one big gripe I have using Waze is, I personally use voice navigation on my device due to the fact that my display is setup at the bottom of the car dashboard.

   I always have to look down to see my routes otherwise for turns and exits, hence I rely heavily on voice navigation for cues on when to check my map. Issue I am having is that I also listen to the stock Radio while driving.

   Waze dims my radio audio to something similar to 90% down of the volume. Especially when I am listening to the radio stations or the host. Routes in the suburbs or near the city have alot of turns. Making it very difficult to listen to the radio when it is constantly being dim for the Waze voice navigation.

   I know there is an option to dim the Waze voice navigator but that is not what I am looking for. I want to ability to maintain my radio volume with Waze voice navigation.

   Another complaint, Waze will not let me use the app when connected to android auto even when my car is parked and stationary. I need to disable android auto so that I can tweak Waze's voice navigation volume on the app.

9. Tourist safety suggestion - prompts re staying on the correct side of road

   When tourists travel to a country where they have to drive on a different side of the road it can be potentially dangerous. I am in New Zealand where we drive on the left. Accidents are often caused when tourists mistakenly drift onto the right as they are on auto-pilot, and cause a head-on collision.

   Most of the rental car companies put a "keep left" sticker on the inside of the windscreen to remind drivers but I don't think this enough. My idea is that Waze would create a special "tourist" version of the audio guide that would include prompts for the driver to "keep left". Or in other countries that drive on the right, prompts to "keep right".

   I thought it would be reasonably easy to overlay "keep left/right" prompts into existing directions at regular intervals. The driver would hear something like "keep driving on Main Street for 2 kilometres, remember to stay on the left side of the road". In order for the prompts not to become confusing and mixed up with "turn left" for example, the "keep left" prompts could be in another voice or pitch entirely. They could even be as simple as "[bell tone] keep left" being repeated every few minutes.

   Basically I feel that verbal prompts could very well save lives in reminding tourists to drive on the correct side of the road. Road signs and signs in the windscreen are not distinctive or noticeable enough. I feel that this idea could be implemented quite simply and save lives. It may already be available but I haven't been able to find evidence of that.

    Hi. Love Waze, but this idea is one of three that would take it from good to great for me...

    Problem: It is a dangerous practice to interact with screens and mobile devices while driving a vehicle. In response to safety concerns, laws are increasingly being put in place prohibiting interacting with screens (touching devices) while driving. Some simple voice commands would enable meaningful interaction with Waze in this situation.

    Possible Solutions:
    1) Only while an alert is displayed, enable very simple voice commands to improve the quality of alert (hazard warnings), for example 'Still there' or 'Gone'.
    2) If/when (1) was successfully implemented, move to enabling the identification of new hazards/alerts as a second phase, for example, 'New hazard' then 'pot hole'. This could include a 'Please confirm the identification of a new hazard Yes or No', to which the drive could just respond with 'Yes', 'confirm' or 'no'.

12. North up changes desperately needed

    I am trying to use Waze with the map displayed in the direction I’m actually going, North Up, Because with the map always moving what is actually North to just keep my direction always going towards the top of the screen one loses all perspective on where things are. When one would read a paper map one would always keep the map north up, that way you could always learn your relative position to other places. The problem comes in, when the map is set to north up the position is always in the dead middle of the screen rather than to the left right top or bottom depending on which direction one is traveling. That means you can’t glance and see potential issues ahead of you because you have cut off at least 80 or 90% of the screen. The vehicle should be to the far edge of the screen regardless of which direction one is traveling. Yes, I get it, that means you’re gonna have to move the car, but right now having the car always traveling up the screen destroys all sense of relative location. Please find a way to fix this.

    I suggest adding a predictive driving option to Waze that helps drivers adjust their speed more smoothly before reaching reduced speed zones.
    Currently, Waze shows the reduced speed limit exactly when you reach the zone, which often forces drivers to brake actively. My proposal is that Waze should calculate the optimal point at which I should release the accelerator, allowing the car to coast into the reduced speed limit without using the brakes.
    The system should display an alert such as “Reduce speed to 50 km/h in 300 m” at the right moment for coasting.Additionally, the app could optionally collect driving data to adapt this feature to my specific vehicle’s rolling behavior. A function to create multiple vehicle profiles would be helpful, as different cars decelerate differently. Users could define one default vehicle and switch between profiles easily.Deutsch:

    You are onto something pairing people heading in the same direction. HOWEVER, please find a way to have me input my work schedule so you know when I'm heading to and from the city. 17. Indicator Panel with Arrows and Traffic Directions and Street Names

    Hi guys, I have a suggestion for you developers,
    Could you make as a Show and Hide Option the "Indicator Panel with Arrows and Traffic Directions and Street Names" which is black in color,
    And it's always there on the top left and it's huge and it covers a lot of the nav screen, top left, Could you make it like some sort of show and hide option.
    This Information-Indicative Panel is rarely used and is not suitable to be always present on the display especially during long distances.
    This black Information-Indicator panel is rarely used. If possible, please make the direction arrows AS TRANSPARENT ARROWS ON THE HIGHWAY CONTOURS for the current traffic, but let them also be optional.
    Could you also make the background, text and arrow color as selectable option to implement for users, May it be more successful and attractive Waze.

    I don't know why everyone wants this proposal to be introduced but no one has informed you yet.

    Wenn man auf der Autobahn unterwegs ist, wäre es sehr hilfreich, wenn im blauen Kasten am unteren Bildschirmrand nicht nur die Autobahnnummer, sondern auch die aktuelle Fahrtrichtung angezeigt würde, zum Beispiel „A1 > Hamburg“. Diese zusätzliche Information würde nicht nur die Orientierung während der Fahrt verbessern, sondern könnte im Fall einer Panne oder eines Unfalls auch dabei helfen, den genauen Standort schneller und einfacher zu bestimmen. 19. Make the name of the company featured in the ads more prominent.

    Hi,

    I think Waze is a fantastic product! Thanks for all the efforts that have gone into it!

    I'm often presented with a pop-up when stopped, asking me if I've seen ads for any of the companies whose names are listed on the screen. I feel like 99% of the time, I don't recall seeing any of them.

    I've noticed--and this may be the reason for the above--that often, when ads do pop up, the name of the company being advertised is hard to discern from the rest of the ad. I realize it's a small ad, but if companies want themselves and their products promoted, the ads need to be made differently, so that it's immediately obvious what company is being advertised.

    I'm not a big fan of ads, but I am a big fan of Waze, and if ads help keep Waze going, then I hope that this feedback can help the ads become more profitable to the companies paying for them to be displayed.
