  5. Waze Map Editor rework

Enhance the Waze Map Editor to emulate the user-friendly interface and intuitive features recently introduced in the revamped Google Maps road editor. The current design and user interactions within the Waze Map Editor, particularly when adding new roads, can be quite hard.

  6. 3D Building View, Compass to CarPlay, Stop Lights and Stop Signs

I would like to see Waze add 3D building views and Stoplights and stop signs, and allow compass to be shown in Carplay.

  7. Do not allow user selection on buttons

Buttons in WME (UR, PUR, etc.) should not allow the user to select the text. There is no functional use for editors to be able to select this text and attempting to click can result in the text being selected instead of registering a click on the button

    CSS:
    user-select: none;

  8. Add a keyboard shortcut to toggle the Issues Layer

The new issues layer is not linked with a keyboard shortcut to toggle it on/off, at it is the case for other layers like roads, place, closure,....

This would really help, especially for koifish suggestion, so we can quickly toggle on/off the suggestion and see what's under it on the image, or even if there is not a already existing segment hidden by suggestion.

  9. Change URL on edits link from zoom=3 to zoomLevel=19

At this time, from the recent edits of a user is quite zoomed out, and could do with being zoomed in a bit. However, the URL uses zoom instead of zoomLevel, which means either a bit of typing or having to manually search the requested edit.

For example, starting at https://www.waze.com/en-GB/user/editor/BeRoWaz I click edit and the URL looks something like:
    https://www.waze.com/editor?lon=-0.13972619910350798&lat=51.52628621696506&zoom=3

I have to manually change that URL to something like:
    https://www.waze.com/editor?lon=-0.13972619910350798&lat=51.52628621696506&zoomLevel=19

The request is that the URL is edited to be zoomLevel=19 instead of zoom=3

  10. When adding hazards, log GPS coordinates when click on the yellow triangle

At the moment, the location of a hazard is logged when the final tap is made (i.e. Hazard > Hazard > Vehicle on shoulder) - can the location not be changed so that it's logged when the first tap is made on the hazard triangle - it will make locations of hazards more accurate as now it can be half a mile down the road by the time the final tap is made...

  11. Make route color in Apple CarPlay adjustable

I have a problem with the contrast of the map when using Apple CarPlay. On my iPhone the contrast is excellent and the route I have to follow is easy to distinguish from the rest on the map.
On the display in the car, the contrast between the route to be followed and the other map elements appears to be very poor. This means you have to pay close attention to which line on the map is your route. As a result, attention is diverted too much from the road.
My proposal is to make the colors of the route…

  12. Add an alert feature for vehicle driving in wrong direction on highway

    Hi,

Recently in my neighborhood there was an incident where a southbound vehicle travelled on a northbound lane which resulted in a fatal accident. I have not been able to stop thinking about this incident.

When this incident occurred, there were several calls made to 911 by commuters who noticed the vehicle driving on the wrong side. Is it possible that Waze could tie up with 911 or capture this information is some way and get an alert out to other commuters who are unaware of such a vehicle? Although this would not prevent this type of incident, it would…

  13. Correction- Brazil

In Brazil, using English directions, many highways are designated as "SP-###", which stands for "SãoPaulo". The audio direction is calling out ALL SP highways as "Sulfur mono Phosphide" which is a chemical formula abbreviation S P. Every time an SP hwy is called out, she literally says "sulfur mono phosphide" each time, rather than São Paulo, or simply SP. Needs correction. Very annoying 😑

  14. Login: username error x design flaws

A novice user approached me saying they tried to log into WME, but their password wasn't working.
They said they reset the password several times, but nothing worked...

They sent me a screenshot. See if you guys can figure out the problem.

    https://i.imgur.com/JwfFoRz.jpeg

    Reasons to blame the user:

    1) As soon as the user accesses the page, the phrase "Enter your username and password" appears.

    2) As soon as the user accesses the page, the placeholder "Username" appears in the text entry field.

However, the user entered their email in place of the username. It's the user's fault!

    Reasons to…

  15. Traffic Indication on UR reports

When dealing with Update Requests, I'm seeing quite a few which has dubious waze navigation instructions where having an indication of the traffic levels at the exact point of the report being made would be quite advantageous.

In this example, was the bad navigation due to traffic levels, or do we have a serious mapping issue? Can't tell with the limited amount of information made available by the UR report.

Having such tools available would help greatly with managing the map

  16. Ability to lock screen while riding

Whilst riding (motorcycle) in the rain, the rain can oftentimes register as accidental touches, causing unintentional actions (panning, changing destination etc).

The option to lock the screen from accidental touches and perhaps a simple press and hold or unlock gesture to re-enable touches would help to prevent accidental/unintentional inputs and would reduce avoidable hassle whilst riding in (already) difficult circumstances

  17. Event edit mode in WME

During Event Mode you only can select segments and you will not be able to edit them. Only RTCs are possible.
You also can select one previous entered event (MTE) --> this MTE will be preselected for RTCs during event mode. Also the name of the RTC will be the same the whole time.
Benefits: You only have to selects the segments, enter date & time and therefore save a lot of time. You also won't be able accidentally to move segments, nodes or POIs.
Also GPS, my area, POI, issue ans script layer will be deselected automatically (as an…

  18. Add checkboxes to flag unusable/inaccessible gas stations

Editors occasionally find angry URs from drivers who couldn't use or reach stations listed in their gas-station finder. For example, a substantial fraction of drivers -- the majority? -- cannot use non-gasoline fuel, cardlocked stations, military-only stations, or private stations located inside secure installations. Many cannot use members-only stations, such as Costco in the US.

One way to prevent these misroutings would be to add checkboxes for limited-audience gas stations, for example as follows. The app could then let drivers opt in as desired.

In WME, the list might read:
    - Military only
    - Members only
    - Non-gasoline fuels only…

  19. WME specific report types

Waze map editors can access a wider range of report types on the Waze app, including speed bumps. These reports are listed with their corresponding locations on the Waze map editor website, allowing editors to accurately add speed bumps where they were reported. Other report types include speed cameras, tollbooths, sharp curves, new places, and more.
