None as default for street and city in new segments
Submitted on behalf of the IL community: Why isn't a default value of "no street", "no city" entered in the address field of a new segment? New editors don't always fill out the address field and it remains "no address", creating a need to contact them and explain to them how to choose "no" for the street name.

Improve House Numbers Editing Interface Clarity
Since the version 2.272, the HN interface has become visually overloaded mainly on cross roads. In the previous version, entering house numbers mode would visually isolate the numbers belonging only to the selected street. This behavior was much more intuitive and provided a cleaner, distraction-free environment for editing.
We suggest restoring this functionality - either by default or as an optional toggle - so that only the house numbers from the selected street are shown during editing. This change would significantly improve clarity, reduce errors, and enhance the overall editing experience.
Thank you for your consideration.

Allow for polygons in major traffic events to be bigger than 20km
Waze Map Editor doesn't allow a polygon bigger than 20km to be used for a Major Traffic Event.
Example: Attempting to create an MTE for Twin Cities Marathon that only targets a 0.06mi buffer around the route itself, so it only alerts affected drivers.

Feature Proposal: Visual Markers for Start and End of Average Speed Zones
Dear Waze Team,
We are writing to you on behalf of the community of volunteer map editors and Waze app users in the Czech Republic. We would like to propose a new feature that, in our opinion, would significantly refine and clarify the display of average speed camera zones on the map.
Currently, we lack an effective way to visually mark the precise start and end points of an average speed zone on the map. We therefore propose two possible solutions:
- A New Icon with No Sound Alert: We propose the introduction of a new, non-audible icon that editors could…

MTE: exclude segments
It'd be great if there would be an option to exclude certain segments from MTEs.
Either have the MTE snap to a certain elevation level (e.g. exclude underground highway tunnels, or elevated highways,) or exclude certain road categories, such as currently done in Permanent Hazards.41 votes -
Ensure that permanent hazards and cameras are selected before they can be relocated
As shown in the above video, it's far too easy for a PH or camera to be moved accidentally when panning around the map. Hit a PH while panning, and it can be moved half way across the screen.
Please make it so they have to be selected before they're above to be relocated, just like other map elements.

Highway shields instead of plain numbers in Livemap and WME
In the Waze Map Editor and in Livemap, highways are currently identified only by “badges” that display the route numbers, without their alphabetical prefixes.
It would be very helpful to update these highway badges in both WME and Livemap to use the highway shield standard that already exists in the app.
This change would not only improve clarity, but also promote visual consistency of highway shields across all Waze platforms.

Add start/end for average speed zones in WME and take them into account in the app
We need two new PH camera types for average speed zone start and end detection or a similar approach, which would allow the editors to map the start and end of average speed sections on top of the existing flag for the segments. The cameras would serve the following functions:
Indicate the start of a zone or a section in the zone - to be used for the alerts in the app instead of the segment flag. This would improve the accuracy and the experience for drivers who join the zone/section in the middle, including in residential areas where the…

Drag-and-Drop Layer Ordering in WME
Hello,
I would like to suggest a UI improvement in the Waze Map Editor WME.
Previously years in WME, editors could reorder map layers by dragging them in the layers panel using drag handles, allowing layers such as Cities, GPS Points, and Roads to be placed in any order:
https://ibb.co/d0X1FCfJThis feature made it much easier to keep GPS points below roads so they did not obscure the map while editing. With recent changes, this option is no longer available.
I propose restoring custom layer ordering to improve map clarity and usability without relying on scripts or third-party tools.(During…

Ability to add RTCs to new segments
It would be useful to be able to add RTCs to newly added segments. Without the segment(s) included in the current tile build, the closure wouldn't be "real time" but would allow for applying the closure immediately after the tile build finishes. A disclaimer could be (should be) displayed that the closure will not go live in the app until the tile build finishes. This could allow us to more efficiently construct roads ahead of their opening so that the RTC is in place for real time opening. It could also allow for cutting segments for upcoming construction (bridges, culverts)…

Add new layer with Road Signs (generated from Street View)
Use AI models to identify Road Signs from existing Street View images, and surface them in WME as a new layer.
Road sign examples:
- Speed limits
- Stop/Give way
- No entry
- Prohibited turns
- Sharp bends
- Lanes mergingIdeally this new layer should come with sub-layers and allow editors to show/hide on demand (similar to how Hazards currently appear in WME). Sub-layers could be groups - for example:
- Warnings
- Speed limits
- Orders

Filter GPS tracks by vehicle type: private, taxi, motorcycle
The GPS layer should have checkmarks where we could choose the vehicle type of the GPS tracks we want to see.
This would be great for determining what type of vehicle is using a particular road, which in turn would be useful for deciding what road restrictions a road should have.85 votes -
Show Where Community Schedules Are Used
In the Community Schedules section of the Waze Map Editor, please make the "Used In" count clickable or provide a way to show a list of school zones using a specific schedule. Currently, it only shows a number, not the actual locations. Recently, I was trying to find a school zone with an incorrect schedule so I could remove it and then delete the Community Schedule, but I couldn’t locate it even after searching an entire province and four major cities.

Add 'Custom' or 'Other' category for Permanent Hazards to cover undefined road conditions
Expand the Permanent Hazard categories with a "Custom/Other" option to allow editors to flag segments or points with unique, life-saving warnings that don't fit existing labels—such as low-hanging branches, flood-prone causeways, or unexpected dead ends—ensuring the map stays accurate and safe for every type of vehicle and terrain. A short description (e.g. 3 words) can describe the Hazard

Different speed limits for School zone Polygon depending on Entry Point
When creating School zones, i encounter the weird situation where the same segment has 2 different speeds, for example: when you go Southbound is 25mph school zone and for the same street but going Northbound the speeed is 15mph. in this case we will use the lowest speed but this wont be accurate, as the alert is telling users that the School zone is 15mph, mean while they going Southbound where the School sign shows 25mph, so this would create URs, complaining about the proper speed for the Soutbound lane, and this is what this suggestions is intended for so…

Draw Bridge Traffic Controls
My suggestion is Draw Bridge Traffic Control as a Perm Hazzard in WME
Awareness need for Draw Bridge control ahead that could engage their Traffic Light or Swing Arms to stop traffic.
The icon should be different for a Draw Bridge than the usual Traffic Light icon.In more words:
We have RRC and now rolling out Traffic Lights. RRC can be plain, can have Traffic Lights, and can have Swing Arms. Draw Bridge controls pose the same problem. But in this case, they usually have both Traffic Lights and Swing Arms or some other blocks. No difference than a…

Selection of the period of GPS history
As the editor, I would like to have an impact on the length of the GPS track history.
Sometimes you need a short history to catch events, and sometimes as long as possible to check the traffic density or the correctness of the road.

Improved Notifications in WME
I suggest adding in WME notifications to improve tracking of URs and map notes:
- Followed URs: Receive notifications directly in WME (not only on the mobile app) when there are updates or new replies.
- Followed map notes: Receive notifications inside WME (not only by email) when new comments are added to notes I am following.
These improvements would make it easier to stay updated, respond faster, and enhance community collaboration without relying only on email or the mobile app.

Suggestion: Expand “School Zones” into a Broader “Sensitive Areas” System
Waze already has a great and effective feature: School Zones.
Instead of creating new isolated features, I’d like to suggest expanding this existing model into a broader category called “Sensitive Areas.”
The idea is to reuse the same zone logic (visual boundary + contextual alert) and apply it to other high-attention environments.
Possible New Zone Types:
- Hospital Areas
Frequent ambulance traffic
High pedestrian flow
Need for increased driver awareness
Example alert:
“You are entering a hospital area.”
- Flood-Prone Areas
Roads with recurring flooding history
Could trigger alerts during heavy rain
Prevent vehicle damage and improve routing trust
Example alert:
“This…

Add In Car notification for Map Issues Request
With prevalence of In Car integration for Waze the large number of Map Issue being reported is done via Android Auto or Car Play.
When editors or as of now automated ping requests additional information there is no notification to the User through the In Car integration that this has occurred the user will need to check email through which they can't reply or the app, which most in car users don't open.
Can we have the notification for the user in car and what would be even more helpful is to give user ability to reply via voice to…
