Expand character limit for the name of an MTE
Currently the character limit for the name of an MTE is 25. Common MTE names often come very close or exceed 25 characters, such as "Electric Ave Bridge Replacement" (31 characters). It would be helpful to have the character count increased, possibly by another 10-20 or more.
73 votesGreat timing! We’re currently working on expanding the character limit for the name of an MTE. Keep an eye out for updates on the WME.

Mark gas station brands as "Top Tier"
When refueling, many drivers are much more interested in fuel quality than in the specific brand. But at present, the Waze gas-station finder offers no means to limit searches by fuel quality.
Waze can solve this problem by supporting the identification of brands selling "Top Tier" gasoline. "Top Tier" is a consortium of vehicle manufacturers that approves certain gasoline brands as preferred for their engine designs (toptiergas.com).
"Top Tier" designation is associated with all stations selling certain brands and not with any individual station. I'm not sure what mechanism to suggest for Waze to support editing a brand-wide feature like…

Issue Tracker Saved Filter: Should be able to modify/edit an already saved filter
I should be able to modify or edit an already saved search.
When saving a new filter, a dropdown of saved searches should be displayed, and if one is selected, an overwrite warning should appear. This should be alongside a "create new filter" option.

Roads with permits for residents only
Very often there are streets that can only be used by residents.
It would be useful to be able to set the segments on the WME "residents only".
This way only those who add their home address on those streets in to the app will be able to use them.
It is different from editing a road as private, because it would only allow access to residents, whereas now if you search for a destination on a private road everyone can access it.37 votesThanks for your feedback. Manage closures in the Issue Tracker menu
Live closures are one of the most important contributions that editors can make to the Waze map
The functionality of viewing past closures on the map has recently been added, which adds complexity to the view.
This suggestion involves managing closures from the Issue Tracker, allowing you to filter those that have been completed, those that are about to expire, or those within a period of time; or by zones in the same way as the UR, PUR or MP
I guess this sug includes this one: https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59225-map-editor-suggestions/suggestions/47514620-show-only-active-closures and this one https://waze.uservoice.com/forums/59225-map-editor-suggestions/suggestions/45584869-move-closures-history-to-the-closures-tab156 votesThanks for submitting a suggestion! Closures will likely not be part of the Issue Tracker but we are looking into other solutions.

Make U-turn segment length shorter to 10m.
In India it's very difficult to create U-turns with segment lengths greater than 16m.
Please make it 10m or between 10m and 16m.Thanks.

Add general destination information to URs
URs have been improved by adding more information in WME 2.206, and it would be nice to continue to add information that doesn't jeopardize the privacy of the reporter.
My idea would be to add information on how the stop point of a user's route was obtained - whether it be a house number, house number interpolation, RPP, Google address, Waze place, Google place, etc. Specifics on the geographic location wouldn't be needed, it would just be very beneficial to know how the stop point was chosen. We get a lot of URs complaining about navigation ending at the wrong…

Flagging matches with permanently closed venues
With the "Enhanced Matching" between Waze and Google venues going live, some Waze venues are matched with 'Permanently closed' place from Google Maps.
While these are accurate matches, we won't know these places are permanently closed until an editor interacts with the place or a user reports it to us.
My suggestion is to flag such matches to be reviewed by editors. A PUR or something like that.

Allow editing TBR of segments covered by Junction Boxes
If a segment is fully or partially covered with a JB, we cannot add, remove or modify time-base restrictions for it. The only way to do that today is to delete JB, to edit TBR, and then to create JB anew. This limitation seems excessive.

Issue Tracker: Stop defaulting to All Issues - remember last saved filter selected
If you don't have a Pinned Save Filter, Waze should remember the last Save Filter selected rather than reverting back to "All Issues".
If I'm working on a Saved Filter, and need to refresh, it's more than likely I want to continue working on that same filter afterwards.

Default new users in US and UK to Imperial units
Since the wonderful new Edit Suggestions tool has been released, we have seen many (too many) suggestions from well-meaning users in the US to change speed limits to values like 16 or 31 mph. Obviously these users were set by default to use metric units without realizing it.
If a user tries to edit using the WME for the first time in a country that uses Imperial speed limits (which I believe is only the US, UK, Anguilla, Antigua, Barbados, and the Cayman Islands), their units should automatically be set to Imperial by default.
52 votesGreat timing! We're currently working on defaulting new users in the US and UK to Imperial units. Keep an eye out for updates on the WME.

Display router-enabled U-turns as always green
WME displays some U-turn restrictions as red when routing will treat them as green. This is VERY confusing.
Specifically, we are told that when a driver following a Street roadway type reaches a junction node to a Parking Lot Road, the Waze router is allowed to offer a U-turn at that junction node -- REGARDLESS of the U-turn setting displayed by WME (we are also told this is true of Street/Private Road junction nodes as well -- and perhaps others?).
WME should not show editors red turn restrictions when in fact drivers will experience green turn restrictions. This can lead…

Allow combining chargers when merging EVCS
When merging EVCS, give users the option to include both sets of chargers. For some reason, some networks (ahem, ChargePoint) sometimes list multiple charger sites in the same parking lot or garage. If we try to merge them, we have to select one or the other set of chargers. Please add an option to include both sets.

UR User Preference Panel - Combine passes/permits into expendable list
Since User Preferences have been introduced into User Reports, solving URs has become much easier. One drawback is that the list can be extremely long if a user has many passes or permits, forcing the input field well off the bottom of the screen. One example found recently has 722 passes, as shown in this video:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/15iVQMdq9muJoGqItdFZ26Ctx031hu2sY/view?usp=drive_link
Our suggestion is that passes are combined into one initial entry - "added passes", and there is an option to select it, which opens up the list.

Parking lot type (motorcycles-only, cars-only, both)
It's very common, at least in Colombia, parking lots only for motorcycles and it's really dissapointing to arrive at a parking lot suggested by Waze, and realize that it's a motorcycle-only parking lot and you're driving a car.
Please add a new property in WME to choose the type of parking lot: motorcycles-only, cars-only, or both, and add a new feature in app to filter by parking lot type.51 votesThanks for your feedback. At this time, this doesn't fit on our roadmap, but we'll keep it in mind for future product planning.

Temporary real-time traffic regulations override
Police frequently implement temporary local traffic regulations, such as diverting vehicles through bus lanes or HOV lanes. On Waze, these segments are typically mapped with Time-Based Restrictions (TBRs) to prevent routing through them. However, these areas are usually pre-mapped. I propose creating a new entity within WME that can be toggled in real-time to override existing TBRs, allowing for more accurate routing based on live traffic conditions

Enable merging residential places
Today we cannot directly merge two residential places (or merge a residential place into a public one). There is a workaround: convert residential places to public ones, save them, merge, then convert back to residential if needed. Why not allow merging the direct way?

Issue Tracker - add filter by Language
Now that the Language setting is attached to URs, it would be very beneficial in terms of efficiency to have the ability to filter by language in the Issue Tracker.
The filter should allow editors to select one or more languages and either include or exclude the selection.
For example:
1. include: English + French + Greek
2. exclude: Greek12 votes -
issue tracker: add new area filter - "My editable areas"
For new editors, without a managed area the current Area filters don't allow them to see everything they have editing rights to manage. There should be an additional "My editable areas" option that filters aligned to the Editable Areas layer.
