  1. Remove screen size change

    https://www.waze.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=2293182#p2293182

The WME screen size was changed, causing you to have to scroll up/down to see the full WME screen.

  2. Add new layers for deleted Places and Segments

Currently it's impossible to restore (or even review) the Places and Segments, which were deleted. There are simply no traces left and objects are lost for good. (with their history and complexity)

I suggest to add the new WME layers with deleted Segments and Places.
That would allow the review of what, when (and by whom) were they deleted with a possibility to recover/undelete those objects. (again, incl. all attributes and history).

  3. Use of alternate city names for routing

Several years ago the decision was made to use the postal city as an alternate city name for routing to addresses in rural areas. According to Wazeopedia "Waze founder and CTO Ehud stated in a US meetup that a search algorithm is so much work to build correctly and maintain, that Waze does not want to spend the time, money or energy to build their own, and are happy to stack the Waze matching process on top of the Google search algorithm." As a result, WME editors have spent untold time and energy adding the postal cities to these segments.…

  4. Road Closures History

For a segment, it can be useful to have the history of closures, with start and ending, especially the most recent ones.

This could help in the management of some UR (a closed segment the previous days helps to think that the segment is still closed).

  5. Change Forum Sharing Options object types posted in forum

Currently when an editor uses the Forum Sharing Option to request an unlock, the request ALWAYS says "I would like to be able to edit the following segment(s)." no matter what type of object is selected.

The request should be automatically based on type of object selected

    If segment(s) selected, no change
If venue(s) selected, the request should say "I would like to be able to edit the following venue(s)."
If they have any other type of object selected, the request should say "I would like to be able to edit the following [selected object type]."

  6. Mark segments as "slip lanes" that delay voice instructions

At the moment, ramp segments generally delay voice instructions until you have merged or turned onto the segments at the end of the ramp, such as a freeway or highway.

Australia and some other countries utilise "slip lanes" at some intersections, which is basically a left turn (for countries that drive on the left) that does not use the main intersection.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slip_lane

When a slip lane is mapped on Waze, we usually implement the turn instruction where the driver enters the slip lane, as that is where they need to be told to turn. However, this can mean that Waze…

  7. Temporary downgrade of own editor level

I’d like to suggest in the WME a switch (perhaps in the user control panel) for downgrading the own editor level.

    For example:
If I’m a level 5 Editor, but only want to edit simple streets which are only on level 1, i can switch my own editor level to something lower than 5 for this action. This would prevent myself for accidental editing more important street e.g. highways.
Compare this with an account in the IT… Even if I am an administrator… I shouldn’t be logged in always as an admin but just as a normal user with rights…

  8. Close User reports automatic after seven days with no response

We suffer from the spread of reports on the map, and unfortunately we have to wait for seven days until they are closed. During this, weak reports may come that were previously, then it becomes difficult to close them. If the feature of closing after 7 days is included (in the event that there is no response from reporters) will be useful new for cleaning up the map from useless reports

  9. Filtering Waze Map editor Feed

    Hi.
fi we had a chance to filter all the feeds that we receive in the main page of editor.
This way they looks untidy and unwieldy, the filters may bring it back to life

  10. Point per House Number

Get 1 edit point per HN placed or per 2 HN moved. This brings more drive to do HNs.

  11. All 1-way roads should automatically be A→B

There's no need for 1-way roads to be either A→B or B→A.
They should only be able to be A→B.

This will solve a lot of issues us editors encounter, for example when adding road closures.
I saw another suggestion here to apply A→B closure also on B→A segments, but it would be much better to just get rid of B→A segments.

Let me know if there are any questions.

  12. add RTC details to segment history in WME

Currently in WME segment history we can see that a closure was added and when it was added, but It doesn't contain any details about the duration of the closure itself. If a closure is manually deleted by an editor I believe that also shows up in the history, but when a closure expires naturally that is not captured.

It would be very useful if there was data about the actual closure itself. I'd like to at the very least be able to see when the RTC was scheduled to begin and end. This would help when there are URs…

  13. No feedback provided if permalink is unable to select items

Currently there is no feedback given if one or more items are not selected when opening a permalink (i.e segments, places, URs, etc.).

For instance, I have a document with PLs of segments that are always closed during events (such as stadiums). If a segment ID is changed and therefore no longer linked in the PL, I have no way of easily knowing this.

Please consider providing some sort of warning if WME is unable to locate all the linked items.

  14. Allow a specific path in a junction box to be Private/access only

If we have one-way access-only restrictions, it's impossible to map this if other routes are available.

Looking at the situation in the following graphic:
    https://imgur.com/cJEtlk2

There's no way to get to some of the streets without using the one road that's open to all traffic.

Having the ability to set a Private Road type to a particular route in a junction box will help resolve this situation.

  15. Add Place setting to force arrival on drive side of road

Please add a normally-off setting in Place entry points to force arrivals to be on the drive-side of the roadway. In urban areas it is common to have drop-off/pick-up or valet areas in front of hotels and similar places which cannot be accessed legally via a U-turn.

  16. Add Driveway Road Type

I'm Suggesting the Addition of a "Driveway" road type that can be added for long driveways for 1 house. Something can be shown for routing to the address using RPPs but not shown on the map as another road.

  17. set none as default when selecting an event for real-time closures

Most of the closures I add to the map (95%) need no traffic event associated with them because this is a minor use case.

Now I still have to click the event field and select none manually every single time which takes unnecessary effort and time. In the meantime I could have added other closures.

Therefore,, it would be a huge improvement if none was pre-selected.

  18. TR-panel shouldn't cover the TR-arrows

I've the impression that the behavior of the TR panel is changed. The panel remains longer visible after clicking one of the TR arrows. Nice in certain circumstances. Not so nice if you want to set all TR arrows of a crossing and some of the arrows are covered by the panel.

    Suggestion:
Place the panel a bit further away from the crossing, making all TR arrows reachable.
The little triangle pointing to the selected arrow could be lengthened.

  20. Reopen Update Request

A key could be added, available for a certain period of time from the closing of the UR (e.g. 1d, 6h, 30min), to be able to reopen it and change its status, it is useful when a UR is closed by mistake (if the key is displayed for a few minutes after closing) or if the user replies or adds details after closing (if viewed for a few hours after closing)
The button could only be made visible to those who commented on that issue first or otherwise participated in the conversation.
