  1. Add “Speed bump” as a map error report option

Add “Speed bump” as a map error report option

It would be useful to allow users to report speed bumps as a map error instead of only as a general hazard.

Currently, speed bumps are often missing or inconsistently mapped, and reporting them through broad categories reduces accuracy and slows down data correction.

    Proposed feature:

    • Add “Speed bump missing” or “Incorrect speed bump” under Map error reports
    • Allow users to pin the exact location on the map
    • Optional details (type, size, visibility)

    Benefits:

    • more precise map data
    • faster correction of missing road features
    • improved routing accuracy and driver awareness

  2. Flag Waze segments for addition to Google Maps

If an editor adds roads to Waze and sees they aren't in Google Maps, we have to add them using the Google Maps interface. This does not include access to additional imagery which can make it easier to make the updates.

With the increased data exchange between Waze and Google, it makes sense to have a button to flag sections of the Waze map for incorporation of high priority changes rather than having to map the area twice.

  3. Drag-and-Drop Layer Ordering in WME

    Hello,

I would like to suggest a UI improvement in the Waze Map Editor WME.
Previously years in WME, editors could reorder map layers by dragging them in the layers panel using drag handles, allowing layers such as Cities, GPS Points, and Roads to be placed in any order:
    https://ibb.co/d0X1FCfJ

This feature made it much easier to keep GPS points below roads so they did not obscure the map while editing. With recent changes, this option is no longer available.
I propose restoring custom layer ordering to improve map clarity and usability without relying on scripts or third-party tools.

  4. Highway shields instead of plain numbers in Livemap and WME

In the Waze Map Editor and in Livemap, highways are currently identified only by “badges” that display the route numbers, without their alphabetical prefixes.

It would be very helpful to update these highway badges in both WME and Livemap to use the highway shield standard that already exists in the app.

This change would not only improve clarity, but also promote visual consistency of highway shields across all Waze platforms.

  5. Add 'Custom' or 'Other' category for Permanent Hazards to cover undefined road conditions

Expand the Permanent Hazard categories with a "Custom/Other" option to allow editors to flag segments or points with unique, life-saving warnings that don't fit existing labels—such as low-hanging branches, flood-prone causeways, or unexpected dead ends—ensuring the map stays accurate and safe for every type of vehicle and terrain. A short description (e.g. 3 words) can describe the Hazard

  6. New camera type: Illegal turn

The number of camera type have been increased lately which is good, but I miss an 'Illegal turn' camera type. Since we have red light cameras and stop sign cameras we also need an illegal turn one. These monitor wheter you make and illegal turn or in a multi-lane intersection you violate your lane's instructions (turn right from a straight only lane etc.)
I think these, just like the red light camers and bus lanes cameras are international.

  7. Add start/end for average speed zones in WME and take them into account in the app

We need two new PH camera types for average speed zone start and end detection or a similar approach, which would allow the editors to map the start and end of average speed sections on top of the existing flag for the segments. The cameras would serve the following functions:

    1. Indicate the start of a zone or a section in the zone - to be used for the alerts in the app instead of the segment flag. This would improve the accuracy and the experience for drivers who join the zone/section in the middle, including in residential areas where the…

  8. Map Display - Hotels

Would be helpful for Waze to display on cell/vehicle map area hotels, just like you do with filling stations. Garmin does it.

Justification: It's troublesome having to stop the vehicle on the side of the road just to search the web for local hotel locations while on a road trip. Quite time consuming.

  9. Live Municipality Display & "Now Entering" Border Alerts

Add a small, dynamic UI element (at the top or bottom of the map) that constantly displays the name of the current city or municipality the driver is in.

    How it works:
When a driver crosses a municipal border, the app triggers a subtle chime and a brief notification: "Welcome to [City Name]".

    Why it’s a game-changer:

Driver Awareness: Prevents drivers from accidentally wandering into unintended or unfamiliar cities.

Situational Context: It’s simply helpful and engaging to always know exactly whose municipal jurisdiction you are driving through.

Safety & Enforcement: Highly beneficial for law enforcement, emergency services, and reporting incidents,…

  10. Poderia colocar um Pop-up igual a do google Maps. Isso é muito útil

Poderia colocar uma opção para deixar em pop-up ou janela flutuante para quando saimos do waze ele continua aberto no canto da tela pequeno. Tipo como é no google maps. Se podesse eu colocava um print aqui como exemplo.

  12. Add Permanent Hazard for Causeways (Fords / Dangerous Dips)

I would like to request the addition of a permanent hazard type in the Waze Map Editor for Causeways (Fords / Dangerous Dips).

In many developing countries, mountainous regions, and jungle areas (such as in Nepal), national highways and rural roads frequently cross seasonal rivers or streams via causeways rather than bridges. These sections of the road are prone to sudden water accumulation, standard flooding, and severe dips that can damage vehicles or pose a significant safety risk to drivers who are unfamiliar with the terrain.

Currently, local traffic authorities recognize these as permanent, high-risk road features. For example, Nepal…

On the display on Hyundai android auto (2025 Tucson) the hazard notification button would better put on the lower left of the screen as opposed to the right. it would be less distracting.

  14. Add a flag to RTC to warn about the approaching final date

An editor should be able to "subscribe" to a specific RTC in order to receive a note message when the RTC is approaching its final date or is cancelled before the final date.

  15. Editor drop pin on app

It would be great if Editors could have a "pin" button on the app drive screen. Sometimes when driving I come across a map error or some feature not existing on the map that would be good to add (like new speedbumps, changes in speed limits etc).

At the moment Editors would either have to wait for someone else to report the change, or they need to log a General map error, which takes a few screens to complete on the app. This is quite a dangerous situation as your eyes will not be on the road but trying to…

  16. URs: Simple reply form to provide more detail

As most editors will attest to, the rate of receiving follow-up details from users who submit URs is still very low. When we follow up and ask for further details, I'm sure many users click on the 'View Report' button in the e-mail intending to reply, but are then put off by the fact that they have to go through a clumsy process of logging in to a WME interface they probably haven't used before (which is not optimised for mobile phones, and if they haven't previously logged in to WME they have to go through two layers of security…

  17. Bumpstops missing

Here in Mexico we have a lot of speed bumps ("topes") that are poorly marked by the authorities — often unpainted and with no warning sign.

It would be really helpful to have a dedicated icon to report the position of a speed bump missing, so drivers get an alert in advance, can brake in time, and avoid damaging their vehicle.

  18. Better fitted screen icons when reporting road issues using Android Auto.

    Hello Waze experts!

My suggestion is to resize the icons that appear when reporting an issue.

When I need to report a pothole or an object on the road, for example, some icons fall outside the visible area of the screen. This makes reporting harder and takes my attention off the road for longer than it should.

My proposal is to use smaller icons so that all options fit on a single screen.
