  1. Login: username error x design flaws

A novice user approached me saying they tried to log into WME, but their password wasn't working.
They said they reset the password several times, but nothing worked...

They sent me a screenshot. See if you guys can figure out the problem.

    Reasons to blame the user:

    1) As soon as the user accesses the page, the phrase "Enter your username and password" appears.

    2) As soon as the user accesses the page, the placeholder "Username" appears in the text entry field.

However, the user entered their email in place of the username. It's the user's fault!

  2. Traffic Indication on UR reports

When dealing with Update Requests, I'm seeing quite a few which has dubious waze navigation instructions where having an indication of the traffic levels at the exact point of the report being made would be quite advantageous.

In this example, was the bad navigation due to traffic levels, or do we have a serious mapping issue? Can't tell with the limited amount of information made available by the UR report.

Having such tools available would help greatly with managing the map

  3. Ability to lock screen while riding

Whilst riding (motorcycle) in the rain, the rain can oftentimes register as accidental touches, causing unintentional actions (panning, changing destination etc).

The option to lock the screen from accidental touches and perhaps a simple press and hold or unlock gesture to re-enable touches would help to prevent accidental/unintentional inputs and would reduce avoidable hassle whilst riding in (already) difficult circumstances

  4. Event edit mode in WME

During Event Mode you only can select segments and you will not be able to edit them. Only RTCs are possible.
You also can select one previous entered event (MTE) --> this MTE will be preselected for RTCs during event mode. Also the name of the RTC will be the same the whole time.
Benefits: You only have to selects the segments, enter date & time and therefore save a lot of time. You also won't be able accidentally to move segments, nodes or POIs.
Also GPS, my area, POI, issue ans script layer will be deselected automatically (as an…

  5. Move GPS layer below segments layer

A way to move the GPS layer below segments layer allowing easier checking segment directions / selecting / adjusting based on GPS layer. Like WME Fix UI Memorial script dues it but native to WME :)

  6. Off road / Unmaintained road should not have the unpaved option

The "Off-road / Unmaintained road" type is almost always unpaved, and in cases where it is paved, it is not to be treated as paved. Thus the "Unpaved" attribute of such a segment is not needed. Moreover, it may sometimes cause an unwanted route when there are some segments that have the unpaved attribute whereas some don't have that attribute.
I suggest removing that attribute from that type of segment.

  7. WME specific report types

Waze map editors can access a wider range of report types on the Waze app, including speed bumps. These reports are listed with their corresponding locations on the Waze map editor website, allowing editors to accurately add speed bumps where they were reported. Other report types include speed cameras, tollbooths, sharp curves, new places, and more.

  10. Multimodal Routing

Traffic navigation isn't limited to cars. Waze could expand to include cycling, walking, and even public transportation options. By incorporating real-time data on bike lanes, pedestrian paths, and bus schedules, Waze could become a one-stop shop for navigating any mode of transportation in a city.

  12. Put a "Select enter street' button in the Closures tab

The button/link exists in the General tab of the left sidebar. Can we please have the same button/link/function duplicated in the Closures tab?

  13. In alerts, add a button to report that there is a fixed speed bump in the road.

In the alerts the user can report, having a button to report that there is a fixed speed bump in the road would be useful.

  15. Move the Triangle reporting icon to the LEFT side of the screen on Car Play to make it easier for the driver reach

    FOR SAFETY REASONS...
Moving the report triangle to the left side of the Car Play screen would make if FAR easier for the DRIVER to report Hazards and other actions.
Currently, having the triangle on the RIGHT side of the screen requires reaching and taking eyes completely off the road to accurately click the icon. This is especially critical on newer vehicles with LARGE screens like Toytota Tundras. Moving the triangle to the Left side of the Screen would enhance safety and be easier to reach.

  16. Add keyboard shortcuts for handling of URs

Another suggestion related to "mark as solved" and "mask as non identified" actions is now in the backlog.
Those actions are frequently made when handling URs, and would deserve shortcuts:
    - "Send" (sending a comment)
    - selecting the comment area (allowing to start typing a comment)
    - closing the window of the UR (perhaps via the ESC key)

  18. Change color of nature from pink to a color that matches the feature

Sometimes when being zoomed in to the map and working with different nature features such as water or forest, it is hard to see what is what. Would it be possible to make water a blue color instead of the pink color and forest green instead of pink?

  19. Automatically create shapes for nature areas such as water or forrest

When adding certain nature-related areas such as water for ponds, lakes, etc., and forests it takes a lot of time and clicking to get them in place. It would be useful if we could point to an area and the map editor looked at that area, e.g., a lake, and then automatically create a shape from the contours of the nature feature. Then we could adjust it manually if needed before saving.

  20. Request to Waze team

    Request to the Waze Team

Please add a feature to Waze that uses OBD2 to provide vehicle speed pulses. Currently, when entering a tunnel, the vehicle stops on the map, so I would like this feature to ensure accurate navigation within tunnels.

In Japan, there are interchanges within tunnels, making accurate navigation difficult without this feature. To improve this, please enable the use of an OBD2 connector to provide speed information even within tunnels.

Additionally, I believe Waze could generate profit by supporting OBD2 and selling Waze-compatible OBD2 devices. It would also be helpful if these OBD2 devices could automatically…
