1. Parking Space Locater Assist

   Create a feature for locating a recent or soon to be available Parking space, name of the feature could be " Parking Space Locator Assist". This option would best serve users in a city or metropolitan area. You ever find yourself driving in a congested area, driving around for 20+ minutes just to find a parking space. Or when you are driving trying to find a place to park and noticed that someone else is leaving but you are still too late, someone else is now waiting to pull in! Wouldn’t it be great to have a feature where users of Waze can simply tap a button, broadcasting the coordinates of the last position and any person in a certain radius will be notified that the driver is about to leave. And even better, if the driver has time can wait for the other user to except the invitation to park in the soon to be free parking space.

2. Petrol stations stock update.

   Hello Waze Team!

   I’m currently living in England, 20 miles north from London and because of a perfect storm of events, the last couple of days have been a bit frantic for some people regarding to fuel supply, causing havoc anywhere near the populations where a petrol station is located. As so, I thought about coming up with some kind web app so users could mark if that station has a fuel supply, which kind, and stock or not.
   Throughout my life I’ve seen the same thing happening in different European countries, mostly because of different events such as strikes, but with the exact same consequences for those living nearby these areas, an absolute road-chaos with users driving from pump to pump desperate for fuel, generating massive queues that eventually increase the amount of traffic, consuming even more fuel.
   Considering the amount that of time that it would take to develop the whole system by myself, and knowing that Waze network could implement that in a “click”, I would like to suggest that feature.

3. Waze App - Increase Reports Limit.

   Hi.

   Please, could this be introduced by where the limit for Reports are increased from around 3-4 every few hours to like 20 for example.

   However, after the usual 3-4, the user will stop reciving the points assoicted for that report until the reset timer for points has been reached. As a regular user on the motorways (UK) for many hours 1-way.

   I tend to spot far too many hazards which could do with reporting. But i get blocked for a few hours after a few reports (3-4). Allowing users to keep reporting but limit the point “grinding” would be greatly appreciated!

   I am not too sure in the other regions how common hazards are but here in the UK (well where i am located) the amount of hazards have increased daily and could do with informing the members on the App.

   Maybe this can also be trusted depending on the users contribution level and/or their WME Editor Level?

4. Honda civix EXT

   2018 Honda civic EXT

   RANDOM DISCONNECTS: Random disconnects that report the phone is no longer connected when it is connected. I use a Samsung S20FE. Disconnecting and reconnecting the high-quality USB cable does not help. To isolate whether the issue is the cable, I've tried multiple cables. They all have the same random disconnect issue.

   SCREEN DISPLAY: I've also run into something when the connection is working and I'm using Waze (my favorite GPS app). When I use the right turn signal the screen switches from the GPS display to the side camera, as it should. But when the turn signal ends, the screen does not return to the GPS screen. It usually jumps to the Android Auto menu. This means taking my eyes off the road to use the touch screen to return to Waze. Is there a hidden setting that will force the system to stay on the map or to return to whatever app was shown before activating the right turn signal?

5. improvements for motorbike riders

   Hi, I am a motorcyclist and I see 4 improvements you could do for riders. Some of them are maybe Waze/Android issue, I do not know if it is technically possible, but it would be very practical
   1) we drive on open air, with a mount. When it is sunny, we wear shades so it is quite difficult to read the screen (shades+transparent protection). We have to set the luminosity to the max (drains the battery like hell) and sometimes it is not enough. I often get -30% battery for a 40 min ride. I suggest you propose an optional "high contrast" mode for riders. For instance black, white and grey, to copy LCD display. Optionel night mode (black background, white arrow) even in daytime would help save the battery. It would make our life easier and the drive safer also
   2) very often, I know the general way to my destination like 80% but I need Waze to guide me on the 20% remaining steps. If I set Waze to my destination, put my phone in the mount as I start, then start riding, it will drain the battery for nothing because I already know most of the way. If I put my phone to sleep, I ride, then I have to stop when I am getting close to my destination, take off my gloves, take the phone out, activate it, put it back, put gloves back, then drive. Its a waste of time. So my suggestion is : there should be an automatic "wake my phone/wake Maps from sleeping" when I am getting close to my destination. I could parameter that, when I am in radius 1km or 20km to my arrival, the phone should come back to life. We riders have our hands busy while we ride, like totally busy.
   3) when I am riding, I do not want to be bothered by messages from other apps. Sometimes messages come blocking my view at critical points. Also I do not need, while I am riding, that my phones checks the data of all my apps. On a mount, under the sun, a phone tends to get very hot so I would like to be able to set my phone to only focus on Waze and anything else would be dismissed.
   4) because of the afore mentioned problems, I sometimes use a bluetooth headphone. I set the destination, activate the headphone, put my phone to sleep, then ride, guided by the voice. It saves my battery and prevents the phone from getting too hot. The slight problem of this system is that sometimes, for long periods of time, I have no audio feedback if my phone/Waze is still active. If I could have a voice message, lets say every 5 min if there is no direction change, that "continue, you are on the right way", it would made me feel more secure

6. Bring back the helicopter tank now!

   Dear Waze.. where do you get off? Taking away helicopter take was like taking away freedom from us Americans. How dare you take away that sweet beautiful helicopter tank of mine. Do you know what grinds my gears ways you and your absurd obsession with taking control of my GPS in map needs. Take this as an act of aggression and war will follow. Mess with the bull ha ha you’re about to find out where these horns can go and let me tell your partner I don’t think you’re gonna enjoy it very much. It doesn’t have to be like this Waze we can sign a peace treaty and go back to being a happy couple that only has sex every three months when the babysitter can watch the kids if you can just bring back the helicopter tank please bring back my sweet helicopter tank please Waze I’m begging you. 7. Use the exisitng framework to allow

   "On My Waze" - provide an option for a traveller to notify recipients(loved ones - clients - etc) where they are on their way home for the night or to an appointment.

   Michelle (16, young driver) sets option to notify her parents when passing major landmarks on her way home late after sports practice.

   Notifications reach her parents periodically:
   "Taking highway 385 at exit 27."
   "Got off 385 at exit 25."
   "Stopped at Sharon's house." (drops her off after practice usually)
   "Passing corner market on Fairview Rd"

   Clark (20, College student) - allows him to set notifications to be sent to mother when travelling home for holidays. He sets it a little less verbose than Michelle to notify when leaving major metro areas, but gets more precise as he gets closer to the destination.

   Mindy (NA - Caterer) Sets notifications to be sent to the Maid of Honor for her client to let her know things are moving along and keep the bride calm.

   The gist is an interface/framework to allow passive communication of progress on a voluntary basis. Thereby, keeping parents and concerned parties informed without hazardous texting while driving or the hassle of trying to update multiple recipients continuously responding to the cliché, "how far have you gotten?"

8. Body mass index and cardiorespiratory fitness in MSers: Yes, it matters

   Abstract

   OBJECTIVE:

   This study examined body fatness and its association with cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in persons with multiple sclerosis (pwMS) accounting for disability status.

   MATERIALS AND METHODS:

   This study involved a secondary data analysis from a previous study of 62 pwMS. Body fatness was indirect measured as body mass index (BMI), and CRF was measured as peak oxygen consumption from an incremental exercise test with spirometry. Participants were allocated into 3 different groups based on established BMI categories (ie, normal, overweight, and obese), and data were analyzed using SPSS.

   RESULTS:

   The average BMI was 27.0 (6.7) kg/m2 , and CRF was 19.5 (7.2) mL/kg/min. There was an inverse correlation (pr = -.38 [-.57; -.14]; P = .003) between BMI and CRF controlling for age, sex, disease duration, and disability level. ANCOVA with linear contrast analysis revealed a statistical significant reduction in CRF between groups of different BMI categories; normal weight 20.8 (0.85); overweight 19.8 (1.13); and obese 16.9 (1.73) mL/kg/min; F (2, 55) = 3.33, P = .043; η2 = .11.

   CONCLUSIONS:

   The findings suggest that BMI has a negative impact on CRF in pwMS, with a marked reduction in CRF for those classified as obese compared to those in the normal and overweight category.

9. Better organized CarPlay screen for reporting traffic issues

   Describing traffic issues while driving needs to be done quickly, so the driver isn’t distracted too long. I feel at least 20 buttons should be shown on the screen right away to report conditions, instead of 5 that ‘open’ into related scenarios. So 1st column is the 5 most important police issues, the 2nd column is the 5 most important emergency vehicle issues, the 3rd column is the 5 most important crash or stopped vehicle issues, the 4th column is the 5 most important road surface condition issues, and the 5th column is the 5 most important ‘other’ issues.
   With this sorted visual in place there is no going to subcategories, because all the most important things are displayed on the 1st screen.
   The driver can quickly choose which ‘button’ to select from 1 screen instead of having to go to multiple screens, possibly taking their eyes off the road ahead for long enough to become a driving danger themselves because they are not paying attention to the road navigating extra screens and taking too much time.

10. Health and Safety

    Dear Waze Team,

    I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to offer a suggestion that could significantly enhance the safety of vulnerable road users, including cyclists and pedestrians, through your navigation platform.

    As both a cyclist and a pedestrian, I’m deeply concerned about road safety and believe that integrating cyclist and pedestrian awareness alerts into Waze could make a substantial difference in reducing accidents and fostering a safer road environment for all.

    Specifically, when providing navigation guidance to drivers, incorporating alerts for both cyclists and pedestrians at junctions could help mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with the UK Highway Code’s Rules H2 and H3.

    For cyclists (Rule H3), an alert could be triggered when Waze directs a driver to turn, reminding them to check for cyclists on their inside before making the manoeuvre. Similarly, for pedestrians (Rule H2), an alert could prompt the driver to give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross the road into which or from which they are turning.

    Here are some options for how these alerts could be implemented:

    Visual and Auditory Alerts: Utilise both visual pop-up notifications and auditory prompts to remind drivers to watch out for cyclists and pedestrians when turning.

    Integrated Camera Feature: Leverage vehicle cameras to detect nearby cyclists and pedestrians, providing real-time visual or audio warnings to drivers.

    By integrating these features into Waze, we can promote responsible driving behaviour, increase awareness of vulnerable road users, and ultimately create a safer environment for everyone on the road.

11. Fix the phone overheating issue

    Let me explain the background on this. I've been happily using Waze with AA in my car for several years. All of a sudden, mid Feb 2024, my phone is overheating, sometimes before I even leave my driveway! I added a utility to my phone to troubleshoot and what I discovered is atrocious. This started right around Feb 19th. Whenever I have Waze running in the car, Google Maps is also running in background. If I use Google Maps to navigate, the phone doesn't overheat and Waze doesn't open either. I am already in the Beta group for Android Auto, and I provided them with the details, though that is more like dropping into a black hole. I don't know if the Waze group at Google can help with this, but you'd should be talking to each other. I also have seen posts from several other people who have been having the same problem and it all started around the same time. Where I live there's no normal reason for the overheating, since it's winter here and I'm mostly driving at night. I see no documentation from Waze that would require Google Maps to run when I was using Waze. I would much rather use Waze for my navigation because of all the features it has that Google Maps doesn't. And it becomes a more serious problem, because if the phone overheats then I lose my Pandora music as well, not mention phone calls and alerts. I gave up Sirius XM a year ago due to the outrageous price.
    So, is there a reason you are aware of why Google Maps would have to run if I'm using Waze? Stopping Google Maps is not a viable option.

12. Legyen pontos egyedul is eltudok tevedni

    Taxis vagyok budapesten, az önök által preferált térképet használom. Sajnos térkép hibáiból eredően hatalmas károm származik. Jelen pillanatban taxis társaság fegyelmi eljárás eszközön ellenem. Mivel hatalmas kerülő kell érkezzen a címre és utasai már hatalmas kerülővel érkezem meg célponthoz. Sajnos nagyon komoly kártérítés elé nézhetek taxis társaságom felé és az utolsók felé. Térkép tervezése hatalmas kerülő kell tervezi meg és az ismeretlen helyen vagyok kénytelen vagyok követni. Éjszaka dolgozom azt sem lehet mondani forgalmi dugó miatt tervez kerülök kell. Egyáltalán megtalálja a címet. A két három kilométeres útból gyakran előfordult 15- 20 km es útvonal tervet készített. Akkor természetesen nem követtem. Kisebb tévedések mikor 2-5 kilométert téved sajnos ismeretlen helyen nem veszem észre. Jómagam éjszaka dolgozom. Nem lehet azt mondani azért tervez körbe mert dugó van. A másik fő probléma több kilométert autóztatja utassal is és cím közelében közli megérkeztél. Ez a tévedés akár 500 meter is lehet. Nem egyszer előfordult kedves utolsó ismeretlen helyre utazott ezért hívott taxi és nem tudtam elvinni úti céljához. Az ilyen sorozatos hibákból 2016 nov 29.en fegyelmi tárgyaláson lesz és a tévedés ebből kifolyólag kártérítése fognak kötelezni,vagy elbocsátanak. Mivel térkép telepítésekor csak arra figyelmeztet hogy vegyen figyelembe a közlekedési szabályokat de nem figyelmeztet arra térkép téved és nagyon nagy felületesség gel csak tájékoztatás jellegű. Ezért kérem önöket vegyék fel velem a kapcsolatot és próbáljunk meg megegyezni. Nem szeretnék munka nélkül maradni családom van gyerekeket nevelek. Még egyszer kérem önöket tisztelettel vegyek fel velem a kapcsolatot a taxis társaság felé is tudja igazolni nem szándékosan vittem körbe kerülővel utasainkat. És mikor nem érek oda időre nem az én hanyadssagom. Címfelvételttöl számítva 10 percen belül a megadott címen kell lennem. Tegnap éjjel 2016 november 26 adikán körülbelül 30 percet késtem. Számomra ismeretlen helyen voltam ezért kénytelen voltam az önök által reklámozott preferált térképet használni. Megadott címre körülbelül hat kilométeres kerülővel vitt el úgy a megadott címtől kb 500 meter kozoltemeg erkezt.

    Taxis vagyok budapesten, az önök által preferált térképet használom. Sajnos térkép hibáiból eredően hatalmas károm származik. Jelen pillanatban taxis társaság fegyelmi eljárás eszközön ellenem. Mivel hatalmas kerülő kell érkezzen a címre és utasai már hatalmas kerülővel érkezem meg célponthoz. Sajnos nagyon komoly kártérítés elé nézhetek taxis társaságom felé és az utolsók felé. Térkép tervezése hatalmas kerülő kell tervezi meg és az ismeretlen helyen vagyok kénytelen vagyok követni. Éjszaka dolgozom azt sem lehet mondani forgalmi dugó miatt tervez kerülök kell. Egyáltalán megtalálja a címet. A két három kilométeres útból gyakran előfordult 15- 20 km es útvonal tervet készített. Akkor… more

    I live in Northern Virginia in the Washington DC suburbs. Many of my trips take me around the DC Beltway and on other roads that have "Hot Lanes." The Hot Lanes generally operate next to the regular lanes, but being toll lanes, sometimes move faster, which is why some people use them. 

    Most of the time, I don't use Hot Lanes because most of the time, they don't get me there appreciably faster and are not worth the money. There have, however, been times when I would have liked to have known how much time I could save by using them. The current system (as I understand it) treats these roads as one road, and changes the trip times based on whether I'm avoiding toll roads. The only way I've found to compare Hot Lane-versus-regular lane trip times/costs is to go into the menu>settings>navigation>avoid tolls and change the setting back and forth. That's a lot to try to do while driving. 

    I can turn on "avoid tolls." Two problems with that: 1) if the regular route is going to take an hour longer (this has happened) it would be nice to know that, and 2) if I forget to turn off "avoid tolls" and then go elsewhere in the country, Waze will take me off a toll road that I would be happy to take and instead put me on city streets and/or route me miles out of the way (this has happened).  

    It sure would be nice if Waze treated Hot Lanes and adjacent regular lanes as two different routes and made it easier to choose between them based on understanding the different trip times/costs. To minimize phone fiddling while driving, it would be great if there was an audible choice, e.g., "in half a mile, take the hot/express lanes for $10 to save 20 minutes." Another option I've heard suggested is to be able to set a minimum time savings or some other simple cost/benefit criteria for taking toll roads. At a minimum, for me, having the "avoid tolls" button more accessible would be helpful. 

    I don't know how much of my problem applies to people in other parts of the country/world, but I've heard a lot of complaints from people in the DC area, such that they avoid using navigation apps due to this kind of lack of useful information.
