Add friends without using social network
It would be good to have a way of adding frineds without having to be a member of Facebook or another social network.

Add the old eta system back. Facebook is useless for local friends that I am actually friends with. Two very different contact lists and not everyone uses Facebook AKA steal all your data and sell it to the highest bidder-book. This is so moronic the person that sold out for Facebook should be fired.

... I know, this is Facebook too, but it is fairly easier and much more stable than using Waze. -

How can I let family track my location with out sending ETA (driving) and also with out letting facebook know (dont want to get robbed while out of town)?

Sending ETA to my wife and kids was your #1 feature.
I don't use and will never use facebook!
Does this mean I should not use waze?
Remove this requirement, return my friends and re-enable the ETA feature to non-facebook users. -

Yes!! Agree with everyone here - the best feature of Waze was sending ETA to friends through contacts. I don't want to connect to Facebook, I don't need to see what my friends in other countries are doing on Waze. I need to connect to people NEAR me. Bring back this feature please!!!

This is ridiculous. I don't have a Facebook account and never will. There are a lot of other IT workers like me that feel the same. You're shooting yourself in the foot in a large way with this change.

Facebook is good for keeping in touch with those who don't live nearby, Waze friends is good for sending ETA's and sharing meeting points for people who DO live nearby. I don't have my geographically close friends/family on facebook, and I don't need my friends in other countries on Waze. Two very different contact lists

I’m totally confused. Waze you change director of marketing? I never has Facebook and I don’t want it! I need add friends from my phone contacts. Please give it back to old functionality. And don’t pay your people for upgrades like this.
