1. Radar audio warning trigger model

   I don't know if this is a new topic or not, but this is a problem that I've encountered wherein the normal Waze behavior is almost like a bug.

   How it works today
   The visual on screen warning for a Speed camera is based on distance only. I.e it will always show on-screen when the driver is X meters from the camera.
   However, the audio warning for a speed camera only activates if you pass the "detection distance" and are "over speed"

   Problem
   In this specific case, the radar is a 70 km/h radar. The detection distance however is when the driver is still in a 30 zone. Very few drivers will drive above 70 km/h there.
   Also, the Audio warning only triggers once. What I mean by this is that Waze will only trigger the audio warning when both of the following conditions are met simultaneously:

   if the driver enters the detection distance
   and is at over speed.
   

   This means that if the driver after passing the detection distance speeds up to a speed greater than the radar, he will still not receive an audio warning.

   How it should work
   The audio warning should trigger anytime:

   the driver is inside the detection zone
   and is over speed.
   

   The difference here is zone vs distance. The app should play an audio warning as soon as the driver's speed increases past the radar speed and is within the zone preceding the radar. It should also trigger again if the drivers slows down to a speed below the Radar and then back up again while in the zone.

2. Connecting Waze with chat GPT 40 allowing the phone camera system to operate as a dash cam at the same time would provide the ultimate trave

   If you could connect chat GPT 400 with Waze you would have the ultimate travel assistant allowing for hands-free driving assistant I could simply ask Waze to find me the next Kentucky Fried Chicken on my current route with my voice and it would automatically pop up on the screen or eat even if I saw something on the road I was driving past I could ask it what is that. For instance I could say what is the model of that red car that just went past us

6. Speed cameras notification

   The alert should notify 1000m before the actual place. this will give sufficient time for drivers to slowing down the vehicle instead of emergency break.

10. New Speed cameras Lisbon

    There are new speed cameras in Lisbon, 40 until end 2021. It would be helpful if you could advise the locations so we could get used to it before they are active. Now in tests already. Those are now generation radars and can get speed in both ways.

12. Request for Full BMW iDrive 7 Integration (Cluster + HUD Support via CarPlay & Android Auto)

    Hello Waze Team,

    I’m writing as a dedicated Waze user and BMW owner who strongly believes that Waze deserves full integration into the driver’s cockpit — not just the center screen.

    I currently use Waze on a BMW G20 330i xDrive (2021, iDrive 7) with the latest versions of iOS + CarPlay and Android + Android Auto (tested on both platforms). At this time, navigation only appears on the main display, while the instrument cluster and head-up display (HUD) remain inactive — which limits driver comfort, focus, and overall safety.

    I would like to formally request that Waze enable support for showing navigation directions, turn-by-turn prompts, and police/speed-camera alerts directly on the instrument cluster and HUD, similar to how BMW’s native navigation system — and some competitor apps — already do.

    This feature would allow drivers to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel, perfectly aligning with Waze’s mission of safer and smarter driving. Many BMW owners (especially those using iDrive 7 and iDrive 8) are actively asking for this enhancement, and it would represent a significant leap forward for Waze’s ecosystem on both CarPlay and Android Auto.

    Please forward this request to your product development or automotive integration team, and kindly let me know if there’s a roadmap or beta program planned for this functionality.

    Thank you for taking this seriously. I genuinely hope that Waze will soon provide full HUD and cluster integration for BMW drivers worldwide.

13. Wazer statistics make posted speed limits obsolete

    When driving in fog, darkness or on unfamiliar roads I want a warning from Waze, if my speed is greater than (say) the 90th percentile of the Wazer statistical distribution for my position and driving direction.

    I would also like to be alerted if another Wazer near before me drives much slower than I do.

    BACKGROUND

    Guidelines from location- and real-time data on the speed of Wazers should be more safety-relevant than rigidly posted speed limits, constant over both time and long distances.

    Such functions in Waze may contribute considerably to driving safety. In the long run they will hopefully also put an end to the non-scientific police and camera speed supervision.

    Today's punishment of individuals missing a speed sign is hardly significant to safety in normal situations. Through GPS navigators' and drivers' common warnings of police presence, this unfortunate focus on posted speed limits also reduces police efficiency when chasing real criminals.

    Research indicates that a great speed deviation from that of the average traffic flow is more dangerous than a minor violation of the posted speed limit. This is the case also for unusually low speeds.

    === Regression fallacy ===

    Speed cameras have been justified with false claims on their alleged accident reduction. Such overestimations of the safety influence (from reduced local traffic speed and from lowering speed limits as well as from speed cameras) are based on ignorance of the statistical regression effect: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regression_fallacy

14. Make fully customizable alerts

    You guys should make the alerts customizable. For example, I want to get the app to make a sound when I'm approaching a speed camera or something while above the speed limit. Now, if I set the sound as "Alerts" it only makes a sound when there's a speed bump which is useless because there are 6 street signs before every bump! Make a big list of all possible alerts and allow the user to choose what they want to define as alert deserving stuff

16. Business Icons Overlapping Navigation Directions

    What if the icons / markers / commercials for the paying customers / businesses would not cover the navigation directions completely? Nor the icons of "Police", "Speed Camera" and other users' reports?

    I'm keeping the audio set on "Alerts only" and we almost missed a road exit completely masked by a LIDL store icon (we were on a suspended intersection somewhere in Slovenia / Croatia, the store was somehow below us and its icon completely covered the navigation direction). Then it happened again with a speed camera, then a police radar had the same faith...

    Luckily, the alerts are also accompanied by an animated circle which is bigger than a potential overlapping icon marking a business but the navigation arrows are not. So maybe you can do something about this, i.e. by adding some kind of transparency to the commercials or by not rendering them at all (or by giving them a smaller size) if they tend to overlap navigation indications or alerts.

17. Speed is not readable that small. Also put the bloody sign into the box for speed camera so i can finally see the limit!

    Need the sign with the number in the box for speed alert box!! So many times i dont know the limit and the alert doesn't help at all!! Use the space that box is massive! Put the sign in it.

18. Traffic cameras combined with Waze live map for visual context

    Traffic cameras provide visual context for the roadway environment. Humans are visual and like to have visual confirmation. "A picture is worth a 1000 words". Favorite cameras can be included to provide information along a regularly traveled route. This will provide the Wazer with the opportunity to view conditions prior to committing to a route. Traffic cameras can be displayed along alternate routes.Traffic cameras can be enabled when a Wazer is stationary to avoid driver distraction.

20. Alarm sound is needed for radar control!

    It is very important to get an alarm along with the voice warning, at least give the option to users. This is not the case. In other navigation apps it is so!

    Also give the option to only make noise if you are over the speed limit and camera is working, OR always make noise no matter what.

    I hope it comes soon...
