WAZE to Catch Criminals
First as police officer for 35 years I think waze is great and makes our job easier. The goal of every law enforcement agency is (if not shame on them) voluntary compliance with the law. If the mere presence of a police car causes motorists to communicate via waze and slow down, then our job is done without the hazards of a traffic stop!
But my idea is for wazers to help the police get dangerous criminals off the streets. Criminals drive to and from crime scenes and are out in traffic with millions of wazers. Police officers issue Be…

Stop cops from reporting “no longer there”
If a vehicle hasn’t moved for a set time (ie a cop doing a speed trap) don’t let them report “no longer there” or remove the icon. If other wazers are moving on the road, but the one cancelling reports is not, suspend the account. Especially if they are cancelling multiple reports from different wazers in the same area.

PLEASE stop routing people on minor roads
Please stop routing people on minor roads like Norwich St in Milwaukee! Our small, quiet road now has tons of traffic that it never had before (I've been here 20 years) and that it wasn't designed for, to the point that I might look into whether we can get speed bumps, especially since most of the cars are going WAY over our 25 mph speed limit. Keep people on the major roads that were designed for more traffic and that have higher speed limits, please.

Please add stop lights.
Please add stop lights. They help when I'm not driving on the highway and especially when I'm driving in the city. I count how many stop lights I have so I know exactly where to turn and don't feel consistently lost.

Self accident(by impact) detection and reporting automaticaly
Some(maybe many) lives could be saved if Waze could detect accident situation with its user.
It would listen to phone's accelerometer and after huge amplitude of indices form phone accelerometer and rapid, complete stop/non acceleration for about minute, it could ask user/driver for response.
If driver is not responding on phones flashing/signaling/dialog on screen, then big chance that driver is in trouble and Waze could send signal of SOS to closest users and even to local administrators to check out situation. Maybe this feature could be used by local 911/112 as well. If not for immediate rescue then for locating…

local law icons (like "no-turn-on-red")
I travel a lot for work, and never know basic road rules where I'm at. So I always err on the side of caution. Things like "Can I turn right on a red?", better not.
It would be AWESOME if I could drop a very small little overlay with icons of my choosing for (optional overlay please, with checkboxes if I want this particular feature):
- Right-turn-on-red "green-yes / red-no / grey-unknown"
- Passing-on-right-allowed "<same colors>"
- etc. for other 'odd' little region specific things that I'm sure you'll get 100 suggestionsThey could even be triggered overlays by my…

Distance Ruler & Break Reminder
User Problem: When driving long distances, I want to visually see my current progress between two set break points so I can better plan rest stops and manage fatigue.
User Story: As a driver, I want to set a break interval (e.g., every 100 or 200 km), and see a ruler or progress indicator on my navigation map that shows:Where I am now
How far I’ve traveled since my last break
How much distance remains until the next suggested breakFeature Details:
Setting Behavior
Break Interval | Select from predefined (e.g. 50, 100, 200 km)

Optional "Why this destination" so user can add brief voice note that plays when arriving
This should by for optional use and provide the user the option to voice record a brief 30 sec to 1 minute message for why they are traveling to a destination. Examples: Sales rep visiting a location could set s voice prompt that plays upon arrival with their message playback like: who the receptionist is, where they were recommended to park, who they will be meeting with etc..., Example 2: Taking kids to a birthday party message could be left to remind driver of the parents' names, special instructions or reminders. Example 3: running a number of stops and being…

Speed alert has stopped working in Android Auto
Ever since the latest AA UI redesign, I have noticed that the "speed alert" feature has stopped working. I have not tested without AA, so I cannot say if this is specific to that or a general problem.

Add vertical slide feature (navigate / traffic report like)
There are already 2 slide options.
1- If you click the Menu button and slide from left-right you activate the 'Navigate' command
2- If you click the Report button and slide from right-left you activate the 'Traffic report' commandWhat if you implement more 2 slide options, but now vertical (up-down) ?
The actions could be customized by the Wazers or assign a fixed command, for example3- If you click the Menu button and slide from down-up you activate the 'Add a stop' command
4- If you click the Report button and slide from right-left you activate the 'Checkin…5 votes -
Ask users if they are stopping for gas
When unexpectedly exiting the highway, ask users if they are stopping for gas. This would eliminate annoying and distracting rerouting, and direct users to the nearest gas station. 99% of the time, I got off the highway for a reason and don’t immediately want to be directed back on.

Route optimization for manual transmission vehicles (minimize stop-n-go routing)
Allow a user setting for vehicle transmission type. Selecting a "manual transmission" setting would alter the routing engine logic to choose an equal duration or marginally slower route with less stop-n-go traffic (therefore less shifting and holding a manual clutch). Based on traffic speeds and stop signs/lights, routes could be optimized to minimize coming to a complete stop repeatedly.

'Plan a Delivery'
I'm a fast food delivery driver who uses Waze to get around it would be nice to have next to recent, saved places & plan a drive a plan a delivery option where you can quickly add multiple destinations similar to add a stop apart from you can add more than one and it automatically does the nearest locations first, obviously this isn't useful for people not working in delivery so I'd suggest hiding the option by default and have a delivery driver setting to reveal it
Also a must have for delivery drivers is to show the postcode of…

Universal 2nd Factor Authentication (U2F, MFA)
Waze should introduce support for Universal 2nd Factor authentication via authentication app (not SMS) to ensure user data (especially location data) is as secure as possible. More info on support for U2F, 2FA, and USB dongles can be found here:

Proximity routing for Home/Work
Many people use waze on a daily basis as a way to avoid traffic. We know how to get home or to work, and sometimes our work places have multiple entrances. These entrances don't always trigger waze that you have arrived, so even once I'm in the building, suddenly I hear waze trying to route me through the office hallways from my pocket.....
A new feature called "proximity routing" that the user can enable for their "home/work" locations would take care of this problem. Once the driver gets close, waze would indicate you have arrived and go into sleep mode.…

Carplay - ability to pause or stop direction notifications
Waze repeatedly displays notifications when the Carplay display is set to another app. The way they continually pop up interferes with operation of anything else in the Carplay UI
Ex.: I'm sitting at a light where Waze indicates a left turn. While I wait on the light I go to Spotify to queue up a different album. While doing this Waze will repeatedly interrupt by displaying "left turn 0 feet" or similar notifications with no way to stop them.
This behavior is really obnoxious and there should either be a way to permanently stop any particular notification or cap how…
