Map & Command more like Google!
PLEASE READ & VOTE!!
Instead of “Turn right / left in .1 miles” (esp. for in-town and city driving) change to Google-like commands (e.g.- “At the next light / stop sign, turn right/left) and SHOW Device - light or sign at corners - on the map, as such - sign or light).
Doing so also helps to know HOW MANY lights or signs remain between you and your next turn.
It’s impractical to watch your mileage in these conditions. It’s more “natural” - as when someone is telling you directions in the passenger seat - to look for the next…3 votes -
Less talking for directions
No app has it but I would like less talking during navigation and an option to leave the screen off when announcing directions. I ride a motorcycle a lot and any way to save phone power the better but it would be nice if maybe 10 feet before turn or exit it announced it once without turning on screen and draining battery and constantly repeating the same direction in annoying detail. Just once take exit whatever west or East or right or left once. Not an ongoing detail if how to turn out gettin the right lane.

The new feature showing how many lanes are exiting needs improvement.
The new feature showing how many lanes are exiting needs improvement. It should be incorporated into the first icon which indicates a turn. If the exit has 2 lanes, there should be two turn icons next to each other, three lanes exiting, three icons next to each other, etc.. The most recent feature only turns up 0.6 miles ahead of the exit which is sometimes not enough time on a fast moving highway to change lanes and it uses up too much space at the top of the screen.

Street Name Display Optional
Hello,
I’d like to suggest an improvement to the navigation interface in Waze. Currently, street names are displayed systematically, which can clutter the screen and reduce the clarity of essential guidance elements (arrows, distances, lane instructions).
I propose adding an option to:
- disable the automatic display of street names during navigation;
- or limit their appearance to the immediate vicinity of the destination, where this information is truly useful for identifying the final location. This would allow for a cleaner, more readable interface and reduce distractions, especially in dense urban environments.
Thank you for your continued work and attention…

Automatic rerouting improvement
When creating a route on a highway with both "cars only" part and "trucks and buses" part Waze often leads me on the "trucks and buses" part of the highway for no reason (even though it's clearly stated in the settings that I drive a private car, not a truck or a bus). For example on I-95 highway in the north-eastern US.
Now when I'm aware of this problem I ignore Waze's directions and take the "cars only" part of the highway. It's faster in 99% of the cases.
However, for the next 30 miles (or even more) Waze suggests…4 votes -
How would you report a hazard in the road later when it is safe to do so. There was a chain on my exit lane and not a convenient time to pos
Be able to touch your route and post a hazard (chain in the road) after you have stopped at a later time and it is safe to post.

Зміна часу голосового сповіщення про повороти та зміну полоси
After the latest app update, the voice notifications for upcoming turns or lane changes started being announced much earlier than in the previous version.
In particular, the first turn notifications now begin as far as 1.5 kilometers before the actual turn, even on rural roads, which is inappropriate.
Previously, the notifications worked correctly and were announced shortly before the required turn or lane change (approximately 50 meters in urban areas), which allowed the driver to rely on voice guidance without being distracted by constantly checking the navigation screen.
The current change in notification distances creates a traffic safety risk, especially…1 vote -
Link address from other apps
Most functional Waze yet! Navigation seems spot on and not obtrusive like Google's offering. Main thing is Waze is really accurate! Google Maps loses its way and gets me lost! Like the fresh look of Waze. Loads really fast on Note 4 Marshmallow. Love the send ETA so people I choose can monitor my drive in real time!
Few wish list items and believe me, not trying to turn Waze into Google Maps! So just the essentials..
Could use lane assist.
Need to get links from Yelp, Google Now, and other websites to share the actual destination not unknown street…

Enable drawing polygon areas Where Closures Cannot Be Applied
Use-case:
There is a bridge under construction where only one direction is open at a time, controlled by traffic lights. Currently, Waze often shows it as closed, even though cars are just waiting for the light to change.
Proposal:
Add a feature in WME to draw a polygon-shaped area where closures cannot be applied — useful for cases like temporary one-lane bridges with traffic lights, where Waze should display a queue instead of a closure.

You need to give a FUK!
You can make your product safer, if you just gave a FUK! Meaning, "Frequently Used Keys"! I LOVE your product! I live by it when I drive! I report as much as I can to make Waze as accurate as possible!
I tend to report alot of cars broken down on the side of the road. Yellow dot, hazard, car broken, on the shoulder. 4 keys to push to report something so common!?! So why not have FUKs to make reporting easier, quicker, and safer? Whereas, I only hit ONE key to report something I report often?

Prioritize travel time vs. always suggesting the express lanes on the highway
Waze always suggests the Express lanes, regardless of which set of lanes (Express or Collector) are moving faster between the next cross-over point. Every time I get on the highway, Waze directs me to the Express lanes. Many times, the collectors are moving faster than the express lanes, so I do not understand why Waze keeps directing to the express lanes. Waze should prioritize travel time and should only suggest the express when the travel time is shorter (i.e. when the express is moving faster than the collectors), and when the express makes sense based…

Vehicle on hard shoulder
Perhaps the wording of "Vehicle on hard shoulder" could be changed to "Broken down vehicle obstruction" or something else similar. This way it is only added when a vehicle is in a live lane. I find a lot of people add this report when the vehicle is not in the way, sometimes just in a layby even. There is no need for the report and just causes unnecessary traffic delays. It would be the same as saying "Lamppost ahead" if it's not in the road or obstructing traffic, then I feel the report is more of a distraction than…

Flag when route contains tolls
Yesterday I was going from Kfar Saba to Tel Aviv in the morning and the route ended costing me over a 150 NIS.
I often use Waze and trust it so I put in the address and followed the route. At some point I realized that it was taking me to Road 6 (which I didn't want to take because I am with a rental car at the moment and they charge extra) it was too late to turn back at that point so I proceeded. Only to discover that the route was now taking me to the fast lane…

User preferences for level of detail in turn instructions
I keep my audio set to "Alerts only" and am familiar with my metro area's turns and continuations and, when I preview my route's turns, I like for the list of instructions to be as concise as possible. I like that "View Only" instructions don't show up in that route preview.
But, for a turn instruction to be spoken, it must also be included in that list of instructions. This makes it more difficult for me to distinguish the key turns on my route; it may also be an unnecessary level of detail for other drivers who are already familiar…

I want to point outthat vehicle type setting can potentially miscalculate traffic flows. A few days back, during heavy rain, waze was showing the route to be congested, when in fact traffic was smooth flowing, albeit at a slightly slower speed due to heavy rain showers.
In Malaysia, when it rains, motor cyclists take shelter under flyovers and bridges. Therefore, if their waze was on, it would make your app think traffic is at a standstill.
Another issue with motorcycles is, in Malaysia, Lane Splitting is not an offence, and most times, during slow traffic, motorcyclists travel at much higher…

Ability to Add a "Gate" to a segment of roadway on Waze Map Editor, then include Definitions of that Gate, such as, Restrictions of Entry (Guests-only, Guests and Residents, Residents-only, Construction-only, All Types Available Access), Restrictions of Roadway (Narrow Road, Unpaved Road, Separate Lane for Guests, etc.), and Times of Guest Availability (Primarily for Gated Communities that employ staff and have to revolve around Holidays, Night Time Restriction Hours, etc.).
I'm a Spark Delivery Driver for the Jasper, GA area and roughly 80% of the gates that I encounter are Private Resident Gates with 20% of them being Gated Community…

Environmental Related Hazards
There should be a hazard option to report any weather conditions like any objects on fire that are on the road or on the shoulder. I suggest this as I was just on the QEW and there was a grass fire that had cause heavy traffic and I went to report it and there was no option to. I feel if there were more environmental related hazards that could be available for reporting, it will not only inform other drivers of the situation so that they can navigate out of the way to prevent less of a traffic jam and…

Add Completely Custom Routes
I would like the option to draw my own route. I often use Waze, not just to get places I've never been, but to time my arrival to places locally and be alerted to traffic incidents.
Overall I love Waze, but I can't use it much because it wants to "optimize" my route, which often takes me straight through dangerous construction areas (single lane concrete barrier interstate death chutes). We have a ton of construction in my area right now on almost every major road. I don't want to avoid all highways or interstates or even all of one interstate,…

Waze Runner – Safer Routes for Runners
Waze Runner is a feature that helps runners find the safest, most well-lit, and frequently used routes based on real-time data. It would:
Geo-tag common running paths and suggest safer routes.
Provide alerts on construction, lane closures, and low-visibility areas affecting safety.
Offer an emergency connect feature to locate other runners or notify a trusted contact if needed.
This feature would make running in unfamiliar or isolated areas safer, particularly for women. Waze’s mapping and community data make it the perfect platform to implement this solution.More details & case study: https://www.byanuthomas.com/projects/wazerunner
Would love to see this feature considered! 🚀

Suggested improvements to display
UConnect system is installed in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I don't use it due to the cost of upgrading the map. But, I do like some of its features that would greatly benefit Waze. I have screen shots available if needed but don't see a way to add to this post.
- Show the name of the actual city/town that your in. Really helps when traveling
- Show highway signs on map that exactly match the highway road signs (image wise) when exiting, merging, etc. EXTREMELY helpful in large cities and enhances road lane guidance
- Enhance and zoom guidance…1 vote
