1. Flag when route contains tolls

   Yesterday I was going from Kfar Saba to Tel Aviv in the morning and the route ended costing me over a 150 NIS.

   I often use Waze and trust it so I put in the address and followed the route. At some point I realized that it was taking me to Road 6 (which I didn't want to take because I am with a rental car at the moment and they charge extra) it was too late to turn back at that point so I proceeded. Only to discover that the route was now taking me to the fast lane to Tel Aviv (near Ben Gurion Airport) - the toll was 87 NIS (!!!).

   I realize now there is an option to turn off toll options but I don't always want to avoid tolls. I was utterly shocked that the app doesn't flag when you are about to take a route that has multiple tolls. I had an important meeting and at the point I realized where the route was taking me it was too late to change.

   I think it's a really small feature to add which customers will value. Unless of course you get some commission from the tolls roads which gives Waze incentive to "push" those routes to you without flagging.

   I was incredibly disappointed yesterday and felt a bit "scammed".

   Hope someone addresses this. It will be greatly appreciated.

2. Enable drawing polygon areas Where Closures Cannot Be Applied

   Use-case:

   There is a bridge under construction where only one direction is open at a time, controlled by traffic lights. Currently, Waze often shows it as closed, even though cars are just waiting for the light to change.

   Proposal:

   Add a feature in WME to draw a polygon-shaped area where closures cannot be applied — useful for cases like temporary one-lane bridges with traffic lights, where Waze should display a queue instead of a closure.

3. You need to give a FUK!

   You can make your product safer, if you just gave a FUK! Meaning, "Frequently Used Keys"! I LOVE your product! I live by it when I drive! I report as much as I can to make Waze as accurate as possible!
   I tend to report alot of cars broken down on the side of the road. Yellow dot, hazard, car broken, on the shoulder. 4 keys to push to report something so common!?! So why not have FUKs to make reporting easier, quicker, and safer? Whereas, I only hit ONE key to report something I report often?
   Cops visible? Give a FUK!
   I don't even know how to report a lane closure??
   Help a brother out, and give a FUK! Hell, there's the edgy advertising angle as well!! But I want to do the commercial! "Waze's new Frequently Used Keys". Making your travels easier, quicker and safer. All because we give a FUK!"

4. How would you report a hazard in the road later when it is safe to do so. There was a chain on my exit lane and not a convenient time to pos

   Be able to touch your route and post a hazard (chain in the road) after you have stopped at a later time and it is safe to post.

5. Vehicle on hard shoulder

   Perhaps the wording of "Vehicle on hard shoulder" could be changed to "Broken down vehicle obstruction" or something else similar. This way it is only added when a vehicle is in a live lane. I find a lot of people add this report when the vehicle is not in the way, sometimes just in a layby even. There is no need for the report and just causes unnecessary traffic delays. It would be the same as saying "Lamppost ahead" if it's not in the road or obstructing traffic, then I feel the report is more of a distraction than the actual vehicle that has pulled over.

6. User preferences for level of detail in turn instructions

   I keep my audio set to "Alerts only" and am familiar with my metro area's turns and continuations and, when I preview my route's turns, I like for the list of instructions to be as concise as possible. I like that "View Only" instructions don't show up in that route preview.

   But, for a turn instruction to be spoken, it must also be included in that list of instructions. This makes it more difficult for me to distinguish the key turns on my route; it may also be an unnecessary level of detail for other drivers who are already familiar with the city.

   By creating user preference levels for the amount of detail in turn instructions, we could be more consistent in our application of the lane guidance's "View & Hear" and "View Only" options.

   In Malaysia, when it rains, motor cyclists take shelter under flyovers and bridges. Therefore, if their waze was on, it would make your app think traffic is at a standstill.

   Another issue with motorcycles is, in Malaysia, Lane Splitting is not an offence, and most times, during slow traffic, motorcyclists travel at much higher speeds in between lanes!! This would create inaccuracies in traffic assessments on particular stretches of roads.

   Maybe the Waze app should have a symbol to indicate vehicle type prominently and allow users to change the type easily. Some people use motorcycles as well as cars, but normally just one phone!!

8. Ability to Add a "Gate" to a segment of roadway on Waze Map Editor, then include Definitions of that Gate

   Ability to Add a "Gate" to a segment of roadway on Waze Map Editor, then include Definitions of that Gate, such as, Restrictions of Entry (Guests-only, Guests and Residents, Residents-only, Construction-only, All Types Available Access), Restrictions of Roadway (Narrow Road, Unpaved Road, Separate Lane for Guests, etc.), and Times of Guest Availability (Primarily for Gated Communities that employ staff and have to revolve around Holidays, Night Time Restriction Hours, etc.).

   I'm a Spark Delivery Driver for the Jasper, GA area and roughly 80% of the gates that I encounter are Private Resident Gates with 20% of them being Gated Community Gates - several of these have a lot of restrictions that people aren't made aware of. To make matter worse, Waze GPS will automatically direct Guests (such as, myself) to Enter a Gate Restricted to Residents-only, then force me to turn back around and manually enter the Front Gate address. For example, Bent Tree Community has a Gate at "Grandview Gate Dr." that is taken via "Grandview Dr." that is off of "Cove Rd." in Jasper, GA. This is strictly Residents-only - no Guests, no call box, and no entry allowed PERIOD for anybody other than Residents-only. They are VERY strict on their rules.

9. Environmental Related Hazards

   There should be a hazard option to report any weather conditions like any objects on fire that are on the road or on the shoulder. I suggest this as I was just on the QEW and there was a grass fire that had cause heavy traffic and I went to report it and there was no option to. I feel if there were more environmental related hazards that could be available for reporting, it will not only inform other drivers of the situation so that they can navigate out of the way to prevent less of a traffic jam and clear the lane of which the hazard may be but also inform local emergency services about the issue and where it is so they can be alerted and resolve the issue/hazard more efficiently and effectively.

10. Add Completely Custom Routes

    I would like the option to draw my own route. I often use Waze, not just to get places I've never been, but to time my arrival to places locally and be alerted to traffic incidents.

    Overall I love Waze, but I can't use it much because it wants to "optimize" my route, which often takes me straight through dangerous construction areas (single lane concrete barrier interstate death chutes). We have a ton of construction in my area right now on almost every major road. I don't want to avoid all highways or interstates or even all of one interstate, but I'd like to choose to take a longer route around very specific sections that either often have very sudden large traffic jams, or that just make me anxious due to the poor quality of the traffic management.

    To my knowledge, there are no navigation apps that allow a customer to make their own route from start to finish. I've actually considered going back to paper maps and a highlighter, but that won't give me a time estimate or traffic info. Please let us make a custom route and save it. It would be a game changer for me and others in our area.

    For a View Only instruction, only a "Continue" instruction is currently shown in the app along with the lanes. It should also show visual instructions that are set by editors in the WME Turn Instructions panel.

12. Waze Runner – Safer Routes for Runners

    Waze Runner is a feature that helps runners find the safest, most well-lit, and frequently used routes based on real-time data. It would:

    Geo-tag common running paths and suggest safer routes.
    Provide alerts on construction, lane closures, and low-visibility areas affecting safety.
    Offer an emergency connect feature to locate other runners or notify a trusted contact if needed.
    This feature would make running in unfamiliar or isolated areas safer, particularly for women. Waze’s mapping and community data make it the perfect platform to implement this solution.

13. Suggested improvements to display

    UConnect system is installed in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. I don't use it due to the cost of upgrading the map. But, I do like some of its features that would greatly benefit Waze. I have screen shots available if needed but don't see a way to add to this post.
    - Show the name of the actual city/town that your in. Really helps when traveling
    - Show highway signs on map that exactly match the highway road signs (image wise) when exiting, merging, etc. EXTREMELY helpful in large cities and enhances road lane guidance
    - Enhance and zoom guidance on exits
    - Bar to show distance from destination

14. Variable Toll versus Fixed Toll opton

    A lot of users want Waze to add additional features for variable tolls but all I am asking for is for Waze to recoginze the difference between fixed tolls and varaible tolls. I've come to the conclusion that Waze is pretty much unusable for my comute from Falls Church to Herndon, VA becuase it either wants to take me on the unaffordable express lanes OR avoid the reasonable Dulles Toll Road.

16. Recalulate Route Button / Bird's Eye Route / I'm On This Route Button

    Seems like there are lots of these that get one or two votes and die the way of the dodo just like I will assume this suggestion will do. Although the idea behind Waze is social-traffic guidance it doesn't do the commuter a lot of good when they are in route on a multi-lane interstate in the middle of rush hour(s).

    We all give permission for Google/Waze/everyone to know our location so use that information to know that we are on the route and recalculate the traffic speeds based on our movement and feedback on our phones.

    Give us the option to recalculate the route. Give us a birds-eye view button of the route or multiple route options before we start the trips like the big brother Google maps so we can make a better decision before driving out onto the dangerous interstate. Give us a couple of one-handed buttons we can hit with our thumb or index finger to say there is a backup of traffic ahead that is not being calculated. Use the GPS data on our phones and use the awesome data calculation power of the processors to know exactly how fast and far we have traveled so that your data models can be updated quickly and efficiently.

    This morning Waze gave a route of 55 miles to work where I normally travel about 27 and said I would be at work within my 90-minute window. Let's just say I was still late.

    My complaint is that if there are 2 right turn lanes or 2 left turn lanes and an immediate turn is next, it would be helpful for the Waze voice to direct me which turn lanes to be in for my next turn. I have the Newest Version of Waze on my phone and still having this issue in St. Louis, MO

18. HOV depending on people in car

    As you plan a trip, if there are HOV lanes, the app should ask how many people are in the car so that you can be directed to HOV lanes if you pass the requirements for those lanes. Thx :)

    Em São Paulo, no Brasil, há um grande número de motociclistas que utilizam o Waze diariamente, como eu. Porém, o navegador recalcula as rotas conforme o trânsito de carros, o que não é interessante para nós, devido aos corredores de motos (faixas entre os carros). Por isso, gostaria de sugerir que fosse criado um modo especial para motos, que pode ser dentro do próprio programa, que não recalcule as rotas da mesma maneira que faz para os carros. No caso, recalcularia somente em casos de bloqueios ou acidentes. Desde já, agradeço e parabenizo pelo aplicativo, que nos ajuda muito!

    In São Paulo, in Brazil, there are a lot of bikers who use Waze daily, like me. However, the browser recalculates routes as car traffic, which is not interesting for us due to motorcycle lanes (lanes between cars). So, I would suggest the creation of a special way for bikes, which can be within the program itself, which does not recalculate routes the same way it does for cars. In this case, recalcularia only in cases of crashes or accidents. Already, I thank and congratulate the application, which helps us a lot!

    Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already has Motorcycle Mode included in the app. To change your vehicle type, tap Settings > Car Details > Vehicle type.

20. Traffic lanes speed.

    It would be useful to add this feature back to the Waze app because the speed of traffic segments is useful, so that we drivers can understand how intense the traffic is on certain sections of the road. But it should be estimated in both Km and in miles.
