speed / progress estimation
In areas where there is no GPS available, expecially in tunnels, what about a speed / progress estimation? This could be based on:
1) let's say.. 80%-90% of speed before entering a tunnel
2) if other wazers drove through that tunnel shortly before, you should know when they entered and left the tunel and so approximate the speed in the tunnel. This would have several advantages:
1) no "jumping" on map, no "jumping" in ETA (as now you stand at the beginning of the tunnel and then jump to the end)
2) when there is something to report in the…15 votesGreat news! Simulating the navigation while driving in a tunnel is now available in Waze. Install the latest app version to check it out.

Speed "Traps"
Instead of calling them "speed traps" you should use the phrase "speed enforcement"

Mobile speed camera
You should add the capabilities to report Mobile speed camera and in Waze editor, to add the zone length and be alerted when entering this zone from any street.

Speed Trap notifications
I'd like to see permanent or semi-permanent notifications for known speed traps. I'd also like to post about said traps so others don't get caught but can't figure out how to drop a notification remotely

Android Auto Black Buttons
Please get rid of the black buttons. The black buttons are awful. Hard to believe iOS users have a better UI than Android users when Waze and Android are owned by Google

Option to show gas stations/restaurants/highway stops on the route (also from Android Auto)
On Android Auto it would be so nice to have a feature to search for the
nearest fuel stations/restaurants/highway stops around the route.
This feature exists on almost any built in car navigation services.8 votes -
Variable speed
Show the slower speed for variable speed zones.
In Melbourne Australia there are many variable speed zones where the slower speed is set for a longer period. Eg. 40km between 7am and midnight. That should be the speed set for that area as that is the speed for the majority of the day, not the higher speed.3 votes -

when wazers are regularly exceeding the speed limit on non-highways, waze should stop sending people on that route.
If Wazers are exceeding residential speed limits, it creates a hazard for everyone in that area. Waze should collect data about the amount of drivers who are exceeding speed limits and then restrict usage of those roads because it is a public safety issue.
Drivers may be going through areas where there are children, joggers, bicyclists, and others who are now at risk because people are exceeding the speed limit while looking down at their phones to get the next GPS instruction.

use speed limits to cap estimated time to destination
It seems to me that Waze uses the average speed of traffic to estimate the time to the destination of the route selected. However, this is not very useful to me if the average speed of traffic is greater than the legal speed limit. While I may be okay with exceeding the speed limit under certain conditions, I almost always prefer to know how long it will take me to get somewhere if I drive at most the legal limit. From there, I can make my own decision as to what route to take or how fast to…

Android Auto - quick actions
It would be nice to have the ability to create a "quick actions" group.
For example, to report the pothole I need to make three actions: 1) click on the "chat" button, 2) select "event on the road", and 3) "report a pothole". It's unsafe. If I would be able to add this action to the "quick actions", I would only need to click this button. It would be safer, and it would motivate users to report these problems more often. "Quick actions group" might be places next to the "chat" icon.27 votes -
Improve brightness using Android Auto with MyLink. Waze Brightness does not decrease and causes unsafe driving for the driver.
Improve brightness when used in Android Auto. Waze's brightness - even in night mode - is so great that it causes unsafe driving for the driver.

Calculate ETA based on own average speed
ETA calculation seems to be based on traffic conditions and general average speed. ETA calculation seems to be inaccurate when driving below the average speed of the road-segment as it keeps increasing while driving with constant (low) speed.
It would be great if ETA calculation would also be accurate for vehicles going below average speeds (e.g. trucks in europe etc.)

With Android Auto : the position need to be read even in backplane !
To enable Waze on Android Auto, we need to disable the average energy consumption, because the position needs to be read in backplane.
The solution could be to enalbe Android Auto to read always the position, like Waze on the phone.

Allow negative speed offset (reduce the speed warning threshold)
It It would be really helpful if Waze allowed us to adjust the speed offset in both directions — not only to add km/h, but also to subtract.
In my case, my car’s speedometer consistently shows 5 km/h faster than the real speed shown in Waze/GPS. I tested this many times and it’s always the same difference.
Because of this, I’d like to set the speed alert to something like:
✅ “Warn me when I’m less than 5 km/h below the speed limit”
(or essentially: allow a -5 km/h offset)Right now, Waze only allows adding extra km/h…
