I used Waze in foreground (iPad Mini) to navigate, while running Navigon in background for speed warnings.
I really like Navigon's speed warnings, but it couldn't find my destination address, so I just let it run without a destination and ran Waze for navigating. Worked great, except in the boonies, where Waze died for lack of internet.

Feature of non-static Speedcams without approval from AM
There are two things that can be reported - Police and Speedcams. Police shows up immediately, but speedcams (according to the footnote) must be approved and a user will be warned about that only if driving with excessive speed. However there are non-static speedcams too. Most users are repoting them as a police trap, but this is actually a speedcam, and it is changing its location over time. Notifying user when driving with excessive speed is ok, but I think that notifyication about non-static speedcams should be in any case, for example if there…

In-app option to turn off familiarity capping
Give the users the option to always display Speed Cameras and Hazards that familiarity capping would otherwise remove from the display.

Inform drivers of vehicles on side of road
I'm driving in one direction and inform other Waze drivers of a vehicle on my side, but when I'm heading back, I notice that the vehicle I tagged earlier is gone. I would like to be able to have the option to click "not there". This goes for police as well because there are times where a cop is posted, but when I get to the area, it's gone. I believe people are just posting that a vehicle or cop is there as a " joke". There should be a way to stop that as well. Send me an…

Destination location
If when navigating waze told you whether your destination was on the right or left side of the street would help. Also the lane assistant would be nice.
44 votesGreat news! One of the most requested suggestions – Lane Guidance, is now available in Waze. Thanks for your suggestion. Drive safely!

Police reported
Whenever you say, police reported ahead, on the iPhone, it blocks what the speed limit is supposed to be. Why?! How do I know what to slow down to?

Change the colors when speeding
The dark red on dark gray is difficult to read when speeding. I needed to use Waze as a speedometer while in Canada (KPH not MPH). And it was often difficult to read the speed.

Tunnel Navigation bluetooth OBDII
Typically GPS signal is lost in long tunnels. Why not include a waze connection to a bluetooth enabled OBDII device in your car to give accurate speed. The direction is immaterial as the tunnel path is well known. The devices are cheap about $5 to $20 on ebay. Waze would benefit by knowing speed through tunnels. Yes, beacons are good, but not if they are sparsely placed.

Limit ads
For safety, can pop-up ads not appear when the vehicle is in motion?
1 voteThank you for your suggestion! We try to make our ads as useful as possible to Wazers. An ad-free version is not planned for the near future.

Hide notifications older than XX hours.
I've seen reports that are a couple hour up to 24 hours old. It'd be nice to be able to have an option that lets users choose the age limit of notifications they'd like to see.
76 votesDisplay duration for each notification is directly dependent on number of upvotes and ‘not there’s. The more upvotes a report has, the longer it is displayed on the map and vice versa.

CarPlay Alert Buttons
When using CarPlay the alert buttons that pop up are thin and vertically stacked. With the motion of the car these are very hard to hit accurately. I believe about half of my Thanks or Not There button presses are wrong. Switch to Taller side by side buttons. There is generally less horizontal motion of the car, and this should result in fewer errors.

Make the navigation time accurate
When using Waze, the initial projected arrival time is almost always incorrrect. As I drive, it continues to add time to my drive even though there is no traffic and I am going over the posted speed limit. The navigation calculation should be based on the posted speed limit and if traffic is bad, it should be accounted for. The way the app currently works, the calculated time is impossible even if you are speeding, which causes unnecessary stress and causes people to be late unnecessarily.

More realistic ETA for long drives
There should be a feature that allows you to choose in options, how many stops you make either per distance or time, and how long on average are those stops as well as whether you tend to drive slightly above or below the speed limit. Then allow Waze to make adjustments to the ETA based off those personalized settings. For example, I add about 25min per hour drive and it’s much closer to my expected ETA than what Waze provides.

Alert: Excessive traffic deceleration.
Irrespective of cause, unusually great deceleration of one vehicle is a hazard for the vehicles behind - at least on highways with average speed above that of city traffic.
Real-time alerts from the Waze system via our community of users may offer a unique opportunity to prevent (or reduce injuries and damage of) highway mass crashes.Various alerting criteria may be used e.g:
Client accelerometers (or GPS-speed time derivatives) indicating a deceleration greater than, say, the 80th percentile for that road (segment) or average speed level - established by Waze server statistics.7 votes -
Latest version Release 4.94.0.3 Doesn't Work Correctly on Non-Touchscreen Android Auto
This version requires you to use the central rocker controller to switch to the side menu.
Once in navigation, the back up button brings up the command to hit it again to stop navigation, rather than backing up to the Android Auto menu.
You are stuck in Waze unless you move hands from steering wheel.
You should be able to switch to the side Android Auto menu to bring up another app whilst still in navigation and by using the steering wheel buttons like before - exit navigation should be by selecting the X button.
Speed limit alert also gone.…2 votes -
OBJECT IN ROAD
Need a very specifc alert for object in road. HAZARD REPORTED AHEAD is 90% of the time a car on the side of the road. There should be a verbal alert for objects. MUCH not important than a disabled car on the side of the road. Sample "OBJECT IN ROAD REPORTED AHEAD -CENTER LANE Now that's information we can use!

Manually set Speeds for different vehicle setups
I use Waze to drive a jeep, jeep & trailer, bus and trucks.
Legally towing, bus & truck must travel at lower speeds in the cars and jeeps.
It would be really helpful if we could:
1) create different vehicle profiles for the same driver and switch between them.
2) Have the option to be able to manually input the max speeds for vehicle profile eg National roads in Ireland are 80km for bus, truck and towing and 100km for bus and 90km for truck and towing on motorways. This would be more for calculating journey times than …
