   hello, good evening, my opinion of posting an idea to contribute to improving the application is that it would be very good if it had an option for larger vehicles (trailer, truck) .and a specific map to collaborate with with their route. because it makes life much easier for truck drivers and carriers. creating a map that does not pass through the city. because it often ends up damaging, pulling wires, and getting a fine for passing through the city area. And it would be nice to be able to find good and safe gas stations so I could sleep

2. Region of Peel: Traffic Operations - We contact you to inform you of a navigation issue in Caledon, ON

   Belfountain, Caledon ON, is sending vehicles to a private property, further causing vehicles to realize this is a dead end, and causing a traffic issue with constant U-turns.

   Problématique actuelle de l’application =>

   Actuellement, Waze ne prend pas suffisamment en compte les spécificités des véhicules en termes de dimensions et de poids.

   Cela peut entraîner des situations délicates, voire dangereuses, pour les conducteurs de camions, poids lourds, véhicules lourds, fourgons, camping-cars, et même de véhicules légers (avec vélo, ski, coffre de toit en mode vacances).

   Des itinéraires inadaptés mènent à des blocages sous des ponts trop bas (arrachage toiture) , dans des tunnels trop étroits, ou sur des routes non autorisées aux véhicules de certaines masses.

   EXEMPLE : Un particulier qui conduit un fourgon de déménagement, par exemple, ne devrait pas se retrouver bloqué au dernier moment ou simplement oublier son PTRA.

   Nous voudrions que vous intégrez à Waze une fonctionnalité avancée de planification d'itinéraires basée sur les caractéristiques spécifiques du véhicule conduit. Full Options !

   (On peut mettre diesel,électrique ect pourquoi pas d’autres options ???)

   Comment cela fonctionnerait-il ???

   Saisie des informations du véhicule :
   Les utilisateurs auraient la possibilité de renseigner, dans les paramètres de leur profil ou avant un trajet, les informations suivantes concernant leur véhicule =>

   Hauteur (hors tout) : incluant les accessoires tels que coffres de toit, vélos, skis, etc.
   Poids total autorisé en charge (PTAC)
   Poids total roulant autorisé (PTRA) (pour les véhicules avec remorque)
   Longueur
   Largeur (optionnel, mais utile pour les passages étroits)
   Filtrage des itinéraires et signalement des obstacles :
   Waze utiliserait ces données pour planifier les trajets en évitant automatiquement les routes, ponts, tunnels, arches et autres obstacles que l'on pourrait rencontrer sur la route, qui ne sont pas adaptés aux dimensions ou au poids du véhicule.

   Le système pourrait également indiquer de manière proactive sur la carte et pendant le trajet les obstacles potentiels (par exemple, "Pont, Tunnel, : Hauteur limitée à 2,80m") même si l'itinéraire suggéré ne passe pas par là, permettant une meilleure anticipation.

   Alertes et alternatives automatiques =>

   Si un itinéraire sélectionné ou recommandé par Waze s'avère inadapté (par exemple, en raison d'un pont trop bas non détecté précédemment ou d'une modification de dernière minute), le système proposerait automatiquement une alternative en temps réel.
   Des alertes sonores et visuelles préviendraient le conducteur bien en amont de tout obstacle incompatible.

   Bénéfices attendus des utilisateurs !

   Sécurité accrue : Réduction significative des risques d'accidents, de manœuvres dangereuses ou de blocages inattendus.

   Gain de temps et d'argent => Évitement des détours imprévus, des amendes pour non-respect de la signalisation et des dommages potentiels au véhicule.

   Confort de conduite => Moins de stress pour les conducteurs, qu'il s'agisse d'un particulier en vacances avec un équipement encombrant, d'un déménageur ou d'un chauffeur routier.

4. Orient the onscreen selection buttons (such as vehicles on side of road yes/no) to favor up and down motion of outstretched arm

   While trying to select buttons with an outstretched arm, you are more likely to have your hand move up and down instead of left to right. I sometimes make an incorrect button selection because of the unintended motion of my hand at the outstretched position. Orienting the touch buttons to minimize the error due to up/down motion would be better than favoring left to right size which is how it currently is

5. Closed road segment indicator

   Due to road reconstruction, since the 16th of August and until , at least, the 22nd of December, the "rue nationale" in Charenton-du-Cher (France) is totally closed to both way traffic between, at the west, the crossroad with "rue neuve" and, at the east, the crossroad with "D41e".

   Alternate local trafic is possible for light vehicles by "rue neuve" and "D41e". 

   Trucks trafic, totally forbiden through Charenton-du-Cher, has to follow signs to alternate routes.

   The Android Apps doesnt allow to indicate a closed road "long segment" which in this case would be very usefull !

   Could you also put a permanent indication on the map as I cannot do it by myself !

6. Use Waze information to Control Traffic Lights

   Since I'm a long time user of Waze and Google Maps, I was wondering if Alphabet Inc. has considered designing a smart system that would use the data transmitted by Waze clients to program traffic lights.

   From the research I've done, the actual smart systems in advanced cities are based on sensors and cameras placed at the intersections which makes this solution very expensive and thus not attractive to third world country cities. There's even a proposal using RFIDs in vehicles.

   I am sure that city governments would promote vigorously the use of these apps and embrace a solution that wouldn't require rewiring of all the traffic lights.

   The system can be so intelligent that it could predict the incoming traffic from miles away using the routes suggested by Waze and chosen by the drivers.

8. On reporting an accident like car crashes, can a tickbox be created where the amount of vehicles involved can be indicated please?

   Then the intensity and severeness of accident be established so to know if an alternative route should be taken or not??

   hello, my name is Cristina Drake and I have a genius proposal idea for Waze that will guarantee make their business 1000 times better. I have a commercial idea for that. The commercial starts off with a girl or a man in a car holding a paper map looking around, confused because they’re loss. Then suddenly a dark figure comes out of the mess who should be a Jedi master or someone that is bad from Star Wars. Like a bad guy, they didn’t say I can show you the Waze. It is ironic because instead of way, it’s Waze. Then the person in the car looks scared for a second, but then takes the phone that is shadowy figure has held out. It shows the Waze app with a clear route of where the person that is heading and they are not lost anymore. Then it goes on the show you all the amazing things that Waze can do. Please take my idea into consideration, as I have gone to extreme methods to contact Waze about my business proposal. I want to talk about money to Waze, as I would like a large fraction of the money they received from the commercial after created.     Les escribo desde República Dominicana, donde es muy común el uso de vehículos que funcionan con Gas Licuado de Petróleo (GLP). Sería de gran utilidad que la aplicación incluyera la opción de visualizar estaciones de GLP y sus precios, tal como se hace con otros tipos de combustible.

    Esta funcionalidad ayudaría a miles de conductores locales a planificar mejor sus rutas y gastos, y haría que Waze sea aún más relevante en nuestro país.

    I’m writing from the Dominican Republic, where many vehicles run on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). It would be extremely helpful if the app included the option to view LPG stations and their prices, just like it does for other types of fuel.

    This feature would benefit thousands of local drivers by helping them better plan their routes and expenses, and it would make Waze even more relevant in our country.

12. Maximum Permitted Speed or MPS

    An important factor during a car trip is the "Maximum Permitted Speed or MPS".
    During a car trip, the MPS changes constantly:
    1) from 70 to 50, then to 90, suddenly to 30, then again to 70, 30, 70, 100, 90, 120, etc.
    2) The MPS aren't always the same type of traffic signs.
    I've noticed that I sometimes miss a traffic sign, and WAZE alerts me, for example, with an audible signal (thanks for that!).
    My gaze automatically shifts to my smartphone, which actually distracts me from what's happening or could happen on the road!
    That's why I'd like to venture a suggestion for what I consider a minor change to the "Navigation Screen" of the trip.
    With the aim of:
    "Significantly increasing road user safety!!"
    Proposal:
    At the bottom left of the navigation screen:
    1) the MPS will be displayed in a small "red/white circular" traffic sign;
    2) and just below that, the "Current Speed (CS)" in a larger "black circle."
    ======>>>> My proposal is to reverse the size of the circles for both indicators.
    In other words, the MPS circle, the most important indicator,
    will be larger and more readable than the CS circle.
    Especially in the dark!
    Moreover, the CS is less important; we also read it on the car's dashboard.
    The CS is normally lower than the MPS, otherwise WAZE will display a large MPS warning pop-up and/or an audible signal.

14. Two Red Light warning are better than one!

    One of the most serious offenses in the traffic laws for vehicles is crossing a red light. The big problem of the State of Israel is that the focus is on enforcement and not prevention.
    Other cases of crossing a red light are pedestrians looking at cell phones and other distractions that may result in tragedy. The user will receive an explosive message that there is a red light at the traffic light and thus prevent the next accident. In recent years, the Ministry of Communications has been working to allocate additional frequencies and allow the use of these frequencies not only for operators but for designated uses such as autonomous transportation, etc. Collaborations - a. The National Service Center for Traffic Management - location monitoring by GPS technology that will be linked to the traffic light timings and from there to a dedicated application. B. Introducing a new feature to the application

18. The May 2023 release of Waze is terrible. Please go back to the previous version.

    Here are the problems I have observed with the May 2023 release of Waze and why I would rather go back to the previous version.
    1. It defaults to having a menu open on the left asking where you want to go with the list of your frequent destinations. I preferred the previous version where if I wanted to navigate somewhere it was easy to click the search icon and bring up this menu.
    2. The menu of locations has Home and then a list of recent places I have gone. The previous version listed Home and then WORK and then the list of recent places. I most often will click on WORK and it's not in the menu anymore.
    3. When I close the menu mentioned in 1 above and just drive, it skews the display and shows my location on the left side of the display. Then, whenever an alert pops up like "stop light camera ahead" or "railroad crossing ahead," the pop up comes up on the left side and blocks the view so I can't see where I am on the map or where the hazard is that's coming up. I would rather it left my position in the center of the display and didn't obscure my position when alerts pop up.
    4. The system is effectively useless now in a car without a touch screen. In my 2018 vehicle, I do not have a touch screen. I have a wheel I spin to highlight the different buttons on the screen and then push in on the wheel to select whatever I have highlighted. In the previous software version, when a pop up like "police reported ahead" or "road kill on road ahead" came on the screen, I could easily spin the wheel to highlight the "there" button and leave it. If I saw the police officer or road kill, I could push in on the wheel to click the "there" button on the screen. If it wasn't there, I could swist the wheel one click to highlight the "not there" button and push in on the wheel to click on the "not there" button. This functionality is completely removed by the latest Waze update. Now, when a pop-up shows up on the screen, it refreshes every couple of seconds. If I try twisting my selector wheel to highlight the "there" button, a couple of seconds later, it resets the display and my cursor goes back to the default highlighting the search magnifying glass icon. I've tried several times to click on "there" or "not there" but by the time I twist the wheel and get the cursor down to the 'there" or "not there" button on the screen, the display resets and moves my cursor back up to the magnifying glass icon again. As it pertains to paragraph 3 above, I can't click on the X to make the "railroad crossing ahead" or "traffic light camera ahead" pop-up go away. If I try to spin the wheel to get to the X to close the pop-up, by the time I get the cursor there, it resets the display again and puts my cursor back up at the magnifying glass. So I have no way to close the pop-ups, and every time a pop-up comes on screen it blocks my view of my location as I stated in paragraph 3.
    5. The whole point and original intent behind Android Auto was to make cars safer by reducing distracted driving. In the old Waze, the speedometer display included the speed limit, the current car speed, and small tick marks to show how far above or below the speed limit you were driving. The tick marks were red if you were above the speed limit or black if you were below the speed limit. It was VERY easy to very briefly glance at the screen and know if I was close to the speed limit and fine or if I was significantly above or below and needed to adjust my speed. The most recent version of Waze got rid of the tick marks. Now it's just the numbers in black or red if you're above the speed limit, but it takes just that much more attention on the display and mental engagement to determine how far off is my speed from the speed limit. The tick marks in the previous version took no mental processing and very little attention on the display. You are forcing drivers to spend more time looking at the screen by getting rid of those tick marks on the speed indication.
    6. It doesn't navigate me where I want to go anymore. In the previous version, I would say "navigate to ______" and Waze would bring up a list of destinations that it thought might match my desired location and I would click on the one I want. Now, it doesn't show me options and it just starts navigating to the WRONG place. In one example, I did a voice command "Navigate to Water Drops Car Wash" which is the name of a specific drive thru car wash just a mile away. Waze has correctly navigated me to Water Drops Car Wash in the past before the update. Now, Waze automatically started navigating me to the closest car wash that was only 0.2 miles away, but it was a self service car wash and not named Water Drops, so NOT the correct, desired destination.
    7. When I put my car in reverse, it turns the rear view camera on. When I take it out of reverse and the camera image goes away, it doesn't go back to Waze. It goes back to the Android Auto app menu and I have to tell it to go back to Waze. I realize this is likely an Android Auto problem not necessarily a Waze problem.

    I hope this feedback is constructive and helpful in improving Waze.

19. Need to STOP these massive auto and truck pile ups. There must be a way to warn oncoming traffic of major trouble ahead.

Sure the first autos or trucks that cause the accident would not be effective but how about the many vehicles that are about to plow into them. 50 vehicles or more in these pileups is ridiculous with today's technology.
