As nice as this sounds, I don't want to have to mess with this on my smart phone screen. You can more or less do it anyways in the app when reporting a closure.

How can you add a closure to something that doesn't exist on the app? Unless the map data on the app was streaming the new information, you're still going to have at most a 24 hour wait period before you can apply the closure (assuming the tile build doesn't fail).

I believe the guidance in the Wazeopedia is to accept it if it's mostly right and then change/remove the wrong information.

As of June 2023, roughly 71% of cell phone OS's in use is Android followed by iOS at about 28%. Everything else is fighting over 1%.

There is no practical reason to develop for Windows Phone. It's the same reason why Linux doesn't have a lot of video game support. It takes time and effort to develop something and test it for something that ultimately is barely going to be used.

Do parking lot roads even report traffic? One quick way to pause the navigation is minimize the app.

I don't think this idea works as you suggested. What if you come to a drastic stop, but avoided a crash and are now stuck in a traffic jam? Your report would go out falsely reporting an accident.

To reliably do this you'd need something like a g-force monitor, but do phones even have this? Even then, what if you have the Waze open and then drop the phone?

As others have said, calling emergency services should be the first priority.

In either case, I believe Waze would detect you weren't moving and automatically set a traffic jam on the map if you were incapacitated.

How would you determine this? There's a lot of assumptions to make here. You would have the pick the route with the most segments that are going at highway speeds (around 55 MPH), but not so fast that you lose fuel economy.

I know the Mythbusters some years ago showed that only making right turns at intersections was more fuel efficient than waiting to make a left turn.

You can also increase fuel economy if you follow the slip stream of the vehicle in front.

I don't think Waze should be focused on integrating different laws. It's a navigation app not a driver aid.

If you use a vent clip, you can put your phone pretty close to your normal viewing area when driving. My concern with a HUD for night driving is hindering the ability to see (but I've never driven a car with a HUD feature before).

    Hey,

Please note we're changing the status of this suggestion to Not right now, since we finalized our plans for 2024 and this idea won't be implemented this year.

We hope to include it in our plans for later down the line.

    Thanks!

I agree that alerts should be given at different distances, but time/speed dependent. I see little benefit to changing police reports as the majority of the time from my driving the cops are no longer there. I don't think the police report is meant to benefit speeders.

This sounds more like a map editor related issue. If a location is a known Airbnb, it could be added to the map as "Lodging". The problem arises from having to link it to an external provider and, in some states/countries, the legality of Airbnbs. The latter I would argue is beyond the scope of a map editor's duties.

I can understand the irritation in your case, but couldn't you just save the address and give it a name like "Work - Office" or "Work - Job Site"?

I'm not sure how critical this needs to be. The majority of the time someone reports Police where I drive, no one is there. Almost as if they reported a cop after they pulled someone over, in which case they aren't going to mess with you unless they have backup nearby.
