  1. sound alert for new route

    I use my waze on my daily drive, and occasionally when there is a traffic accident, I get re-routed. The problem is that I don't see the little pop-up that says, there's a better route every time. And I end up missing a faster route and being stuck in traffic. A sound alert to tell me I'm re-routed would really help this problem.

  3. add friend by username

    I would like to add friends by their waze username. As a long time adapter of waze, I always found it odd that I couldn't add friends by username. WIth social media being so open, there are still users who feel waze does not need to know their phone number and shares the drive just fine through email and text messages. It is unfair to only allow people to connect by giving up personal information or using social media. A person's location is private information and should be allowed a more private way to share it if needed.

  4. When the volume bar is dragged to zero, the navigation voice directions still lower the volume of my music. Please change this.

    I use the navigation, visually, but not the voice. As I can not find a mute button, I have instead dragged the volume slider all the way to 0.

    I then listen to music on my phone in the background through car speakers. Whenever there is a voice navigation queue, although the voice has no volume so I can't here it, waze still lowers the volume of my music for the duration of the direction, as such, my music seems to just lower the volume periodically which is rather annoying.

  5. Sort searches by smallest deviation from the route

    When I create a route and then try to search a place (within the categories), the list shows the closest places, but it doesn't mean the smallest deviation from the original route. The results should be sorted by smallest deviation or by smallest increase on ETA.

  7. Support ODB bluetooth dongles

    Allow the use of an ODB bluetooth dongle to get a number of improvements. These dongles are quite cheap and provide a wealth of extra data. Possible uses:

    Using the actual vehicle speed combined with compass, accelerometer and map matching it should be possible to have accurate positioning in tunnels/urban canyons. TomTom does this and is able to do near-perfect positioning with only one GPS datapoint every 30 minutes.

  8. Enhancements: Allow customization of favorites

    At present, as you add a new favorite destination to the list, it is listed at the bottom of the list. It would be helpful to be able to create custom tabs within the favorites so that we could provide some organization to our favorites!

  9. Personal statistics

    Would be nice to get stats about your personal routes : average travel time between your first 2 or 3 destinations, average waze error on ETA (accuracy and precision - see wikipedia for the difference), time you spend driving per day, number of wazers you cross... one can invent all sort of fun and useful statistics.

    We plan to work on having a personal statistics of the routes taken in the near future. In the meantime, make sure you’ve got the latest version of Waze for all the latest features.

  11. select trailer or caravan

    Driving through 6 different countries from Netherlands to Italy with my trailer. You sometimes forget what the legal speed limits are in each country. It would be great to be able to select a car-trailer combination. also because the travel time is very different if you compair this with a single car.

  13. Please allow vehicle selection for large vehicles

    Please allow configuration of routes that are suitable for large vehicles and campers. We have a toy hauler that is 40ft long so with our dually and trailer we’re over 50ft long and very tall like at least 12ft tall. We use Waze for all our navigation. For our recent trip Waze has taken us in very tight spots such as low lines and very narrow roads. It’s been awful for our vacation trip. Please fix

  14. Remaining travel time instead of toll value

    If there are tolls involved on the route, its being showed the toll value instead of the remaining travel time. It should always show the remaining travel time or there should be an options to choose what to show.

  17. keep directions on the screen

    Using Waze is for directions of not knowing where to go so I think you need to go back to the small alerts on the screen instead of taking up the directions spot and having them disappear. It’s very frustrating trying to find your way through a city you’ve never driven in before when the directions keep disappearing to alert you that there’s a car on the side of the road.

  20. New "Recent Locations" Screen

    New feature with "Recent Locations" is of no value to me. The recent locations were already on your landing screen. There was no need to create this extra navigation step. I now have to take the extra step of navigating away from it and go to the old screen to type in an address. The extra step is time consuming as I use the app quite a bit, slows my day. Less is more folks, this is 2021, simple and quick was working well. Would be great if you can add an option to revert back to the old landing…
