1. Radar audio warning trigger model

   I don't know if this is a new topic or not, but this is a problem that I've encountered wherein the normal Waze behavior is almost like a bug.

   How it works today
   The visual on screen warning for a Speed camera is based on distance only. I.e it will always show on-screen when the driver is X meters from the camera.
   However, the audio warning for a speed camera only activates if you pass the "detection distance" and are "over speed"

   Problem
   In this specific case, the radar is a 70 km/h radar. The detection distance however is when the driver is still in a 30 zone. Very few drivers will drive above 70 km/h there.
   Also, the Audio warning only triggers once. What I mean by this is that Waze will only trigger the audio warning when both of the following conditions are met simultaneously:

   if the driver enters the detection distance
   and is at over speed.
   

   This means that if the driver after passing the detection distance speeds up to a speed greater than the radar, he will still not receive an audio warning.

   How it should work
   The audio warning should trigger anytime:

   the driver is inside the detection zone
   and is over speed.
   

   The difference here is zone vs distance. The app should play an audio warning as soon as the driver's speed increases past the radar speed and is within the zone preceding the radar. It should also trigger again if the drivers slows down to a speed below the Radar and then back up again while in the zone.

2. Make Waze a perfect navigation system

   It definitely needs lane guidance (even google maps which technically is not a navigation system has lane guidance)

   When you search for POI it should tell you how far (distance and time) off rout the POI is from your rout. (again google maps does that.)

   Wase has problem with long distance. I travel a lot from Somerset NJ to Toronto Canada, and always have to wait at least half an hour for Wase to start working aside from several times crashing and not being able to do anything with phone because it crashes. This might be due to large amount of downloading and processing.

   Offline maps would be a nice thing.

3. save lives: hijack hot spot and unsafe or damaged roads

   DANGER HOT SPOTS
   South Africa is riddled with crime and Waze can literally save hundreds of lives by allowing users to post hot sports at dangerous intersections. Simply being aware of a dangerous intersection will allow people to stop at that light with a safe escape distance. If the intersection gets safer somebody could post as not dangerous anymore

   UNSAFE ROADS
   Ive had numerous flat tyres from driving over a pothole. Imagine i could post a section of the road as damaged road. Id then be aware that i should be looking out for potholes. In the unlikely occasion that it ever gets fixed somebody could say not there anymore.

   Waze recently took me past a very dangerous street at night. Would have been cool if i had an option to avoid it.

   I am absolutely certain that every person with a smart phone in south africa would use waze just for the safety benefits.

4. Speeding alerts, 30.40 and 50 km/h above limit

   At the moment the speeding alert can be set to a maximum of 20km over the limit but I also need other thresholds, 30.40 and 50km/h. In some countries, exceeding the speed limit by 50km/h leads to the suspension of the driving license.

5. "Along route" should be a choice when searching for a point of interest!

   Many times while driving I want to find a restaurant, bathroom, gas station, etc. I'll get results, but a) many are already far behind me, and b) the distance is off. How about giving an "Along route" option? Unless the only option is behind me, it is silly that I have to test 4 or 5 choices that move me backwards before I find one that is ahead of me. Waze knows where I am headed and knows where the places are, so that should be the clear and obvious option.

   And why can't the distance be correct? Again, Waze knows where I am and where the destination is. If it says "2 miles", when I enter it, it should be 2 miles, not 5 or 6 miles. Makes no sense.

6. Set up "Next time I'm passing this location" reminders

   I propose an option to remind me of a task I need to do when I am close to a particular location... I set a reminder to pop up and/or a spoken notification when I am within a selected distance to a selected location... eg: Remind me to pick up new windscreen wiper blades when I'm in the vicinity of the auto spares shop....or...Remind me to drop into Tom's and pay him for my tickets.... This could be linked to my calendar though a sperate in app option may be better because calendars are for specific times and dates and this option is for reminding me when I'm passing by. Having an optional permanent quick entry slot in the pull down notification list or a widget would top it off perfectly.

7. Problem in route visualization when displaying alerts

   When Waze displays route alerts the alert appears over the map when the phone is in horizontal position and it is not possible to see what should be done ahead. Please review this, as previous versions didn't have this issue.

8. Question on red light camera alerts

   I regularly travel through an intersection in the suburb of Marangaroo WA 6964 on Marangaroo drive, Mirrabooka Avenue that has a red light camera. When travelling east on Marangaroo drive there is an audible "red light camera ahead" from waze but when approaching the intersection from any other direction there is no warning. Why is that? Fixed speed cameras also sometimes have an audible alert and sometimes not. Is there a way that I can turn this to an always audible alert for all known cameras? Please respond to Semung@gmail.com.

9. Waze sometimes finds destinations in other countries.

   I live in Canada and I've gotten routes to England and the western United States. Please allow setting a maximum distance or zones around where a driver is.

10. WME is trying to merge 2 pois that have the same name but different address

    In the editor, it is sometimes necessary to create 2 pois with a distance between them of 50 meters or less. These pois have the same name but different addresses. When saving, the editor tries to merge the pois. It is necessary to check for attempts to merge not only the poi name, but also its address. If the addresses of the pois are different, then these are different pois, and not an attempt to create a duplicate.

11. Add support for government emergency alerts (cell broadcast integration) to notify drivers entering affected areas

    As a Waze volunteer editor, I’d like to suggest integrating a feature that uses official cell broadcast emergency alerts sent by governments or national agencies (such as AMBER Alerts, severe weather warnings, or public safety alerts).

    The idea is simple: when a Waze user drives into an area where a cell broadcast alert was recently sent, the app could display a notification or short message about it — even if that driver didn’t originally receive the alert on their phone because they were outside the area at the time.

    This feature could be extremely valuable in real-life situations, such as:
    • Missing or abducted persons (AMBER Alerts): Drivers might spot a vehicle or person described in the alert.
    • Severe accidents or road closures: Helps users understand unexpected congestion or hazards.
    • Public safety warnings: For example, dangerous weather events, wildfires, or police searches in specific regions.

    Waze already excels at community-based awareness, and this feature would extend that community role to public safety. It could help save lives, assist law enforcement, and make Waze even more valuable as a real-time information platform.

    To prevent spam or overload, the system could only display verified government alerts, limited by category and relevance (e.g., within 30–50 km, or active within the last few hours).

12. Adding alert for vehicle going below the lowest speed limit

    I really appreciate the effort you put in this application. Specially the limit for the route speed in UAE . You perfectly added the high limit for the speed.
    My suggestion is to add the lower limit for the route which vehicles can't go below.
    It's crucial because the fine for exceeding the speed is the exact same amount for going below the lowest speed.
    I myself got fined for this gap on Mohamed bin Rashid street which is not allowed to drive below 120 KM/H . And I came to know after fine of 1200 derhams ( 400×3 , as the fine is calculated for every single radar you coming through) .
    It will not take much effort from your side as they're a few list of streets which have lower limit on their lanes.
    I hope you consider my suggestion, and you really our driving experience in UAE as an amazing enjoyable experience.

14. insufisant speed limit notification

    Hello and Happy New Year to all.
     It remains for me 2 major gaps for waze and one interesting improvement.
      - The sound alert only when over speeding is insuffisant and already cost me 1pt on my licence when I accelerate to overtake. ..
    You can not look at the screen constantly we must keep an eye on the road. Then configurable audible signal for danger zones is therefore indispensable.
      - The speed is not displayed or set as she is known by the apk.

     For the improvement is to advertise only hazards on the road on which flows to avoid alerts or close parallel roads.
      For my part I turnaround the 2 problèmes by using Glob traffic and radar along with waze.
    Pop up's and Sound alerts from Glob can effectively overcome these two major problems
      Hoping that the effectiveness of the waze team can provide treatment in 2014 these points

15. Road closures

    I'm a traffic flagger for a utility company. When I need to close a road, i can't do it unless I'm at the nearest intersection. How do I do this without being at that intersection, which may be a long distance from my work site.
    Also, how can I open a road I've closed? Seems the next wazer has to open it; that's mot fair to other drivers. How can I open a road ive closed?

16. Use the Highway only if the distance on it is greater than 2 miles

    Is it possible that the app doesn’t suggest me to take the highway if it’s litteraly to use it for less than 0.5 miles

17. Customised alerts for motorcycles

    I would prefer that there is more of an alert function that makes the whole screen flash red as when I’m riding my motorcycle I need something that catches my eye so I can look down briefly as my phone is attached to my handle bars. Right now just the top of screen alerts green.

    Thank you for your suggestion! As you may know, Waze already has Motorcycle Mode included in the app. To change your vehicle type, tap Settings > Car Details > Vehicle type.

18. As a motorcycle user

    Not all motorcycle users have an intercom, and while driving the motorcycle we cannot hear alerts, radars, accidents, police. It would be good if, given these notifications, The entire mobile screen flashes, to visually alert. Dashboard type in MotoGP.

20. Keep Audio Display Open After Notification

    If a user has the audio display open on their app (i.e. showing Spotify info on the upper third or so on the screen) and a notification is received - like for a car on shoulder, police ahead, etc. - once that notification is over, bring back the audio display that was already opened. It's annoying that after every notification that's received, no matter if I interacted with it or not, I have to hit the Spotify icon each time to bring it back up so that I can change songs and whatnot. I'm sure there's a way to know that if audio is open and an alert is received, return audio to its open state once alert is over. Please?
