A way th control texting and driving at same time.
We were using Waze for first time today, I was driving and wife was on phone. She was unable to type anything in since car was moving and suggested we stop to input info. This technology should be marketed to the phone companies, which would block people texting and driving at same time. It could save many lives and countless injuries if adapted to all phones.

End traffic jam automatically
Have Waze detect when you've been traveling close to the speed limit for a while and mark the point you starting driving faster as the end of the traffic jam.

Interface - needs to revert to 3.x
The new interface looks childish and is unusable in landscape mode. The next instruction box at the top is too big. The notifications are horribly big, and the ones that show when you stop at a traffic light are worse, with the black background.
The map looks drawn by a 4 years old in crayon, seems to lack a lot of the information it had on v3.x., the map lines are too wide.
Having functions that only show when you tap the screen is very bad in usability terms.

Allow user to see turn-by-turn direction list when using Waze via Android Auto.
When connected via Android Auto and using Waze there is no means to pull up the turn-by-turn directions list, even if the vehicle is parked. This forces the driver to drive "blind", not knowing what to expect between the start of the trip and the destination. In city use cases, this makes Waze via Android Auto unusable.

Fix the drive time planner under “arrive at”
Every single time I check how long it takes to get somewhere now, then hit leave at and scroll to when I want to arrive, waze underestimated the time. Ex: just now, takes 20 minutes if I leave now, hit arrive at in 30 minutes, says 15 minutes, even though the bars on the right are still the same, meaning no change in traffic volumes. Do not lower or duck music volume whenever there is an announcement or prompt from Waze
Audio ducking or lowering music when Waze is making an announcement/voice prompt is freaking horrible.
Absolutely hate this forced feature as there is no way to disable it. It just spoils the whole driving and music experience.
Have separate volume adjustments for the background music app and Waze navigation volume. Or a toggle to disable/enable the ducking feature. So that music won't be forcefully lowered whenever there is a prompt or announcement.

Optimal Speed Suggestion
If there's a big traffic jam at a point 2/3 of the way to my destination, it may not help me get there on time if I drive at full speed or over the speed limit up to the point of the jam. Waze could set my suggested driving speed lower for a more even pace over the course of the trip. In some cases, a lower driving speed may help me conserve fuel (and thereby create a smaller carbon footprint) and if many drivers use this we may see safer roads as fewer people speed around rushing to get…

Increase the contrast / Change colors at the top + Larger alert when route changes
A couple of times I missed the change of route because the alert it too minimal. I drive with no waze sound, so I do not hear the change. I think this is a critical improvement because of the time you can loose when you miss the change. Thanks!

Allow reporting of New Incidents while an Alert is active (Android Auto)
When using Waze on Android Auto, if an active alert (e.g., speed camera, crash, lane closure) is currently displayed on the screen, the button to report a new incident becomes inaccessible or disappears.
To submit a new report, the driver is currently forced to first accept or close the existing alert. This is highly impractical and potentially unsafe while driving.This limitation prevents users from easily reporting multiple, co-located events (like a lane closure and a crash) in densely populated areas where multiple things often happen near each other.

Reminder button for editors
As an editor, when I'm driving, using the app, when I see something that I need to add or fix later in the editor, I have to takes my eyes off the road while I find and press five buttons, type a brief reminder, then press Send.
For users who are also editors, could you add a "Reminder" button to the screen after the orange button (the screen with the Traffic, Hazard, Map Issue, etc buttons), that will simply leave a "Reminder" UR, with the editor's userid filled in.

Bring back the report list on iOS!!
Please bring back the list of reports on iOS!!! I used to use that option all of the time, to decide which route I was going to take or see what I needed to watch out for, before I set out. Now I can only see what's going on when i set a route in the car to leave, which defeats my purpose of analyzing which way to go. I like to do this before i set out. Background version of waze to voice alert on speed cameras when routing suggestions is not needed
In most of the cases you know the driving route and you don't need waze for suggesting routes. but it's very helpfull to get voice alert on speed cameras on the way.
I suggest to take that feature in waze and make it a standallone version that runs in the background (without the need to open it, or to display path, progress etc' which is battery consuming).5 votesYou can turn Waze to Alerts Only mode and keep app in the background – audio notifications about upcoming alerts will be provided.

Garage sale app
Waze should add a garage sale app where people could for a fee, post an address and the day and time they will have them. Then the garage sale will appear when the event happens. People could search for garage sales. Garage sale hunting is big business and it is currently being done by people hanging signs on street corners. People have to drive to search for these sales which waste a lot of time and gas. It harms the environment.

Add favourite song button on players (spotify/tidal/youtube ect.)
In music apps we have got 3 buttons (left play/pause and right). I propose to add button "add to favourite (heart)" There are a lot of situations when you are driving, some random playlist is playing and one of the songs is so good you wanna add it to your favs - now you need to stop, switch to music app, add to fav and go back on road.

Optional "no map" (trip computer) view when route is known
8 out of 10 times I use Waze driving to and from work, a route I know very well so I don't need Waze to show me my position on the map.
What I instead would like is a "trip computer" kind of interface, showing me things like my current speed, current speed limit (if known), maybe a color code for traffic ahead on route (green, yellow, red), ETA, current road name (nice to have, not need to have - I know where I am), live updates of incidents (needs to update themselves automatically), textual navigation instructions like "turn right…15 votes -

Allow for the collection of points from driving and reports made while using Android Auto. My account shows -1 points even though I drive with Waze on my Android Auto head unit daily and make plenty of reports. I even get the weekly summary of my reports but never get any points from these reports.

Informing WAZE of blocked roads is problematic
Informing WAZE of blocked roads is problematic. There should be just one quick button which only says blocked and is used when the road that WAZE recommended was not taken because it was blocked. Currently a four way intersection has four choices on which part is blocked but you cannot stop in the middle of a busy intersection to tell WAZE which of the four roads is blocked. Past the intersection, it is difficult to enter this data into WAZE while still driving. A single blocked button will let WAZE figure out which recommended road was not taken.

Bottom Bar.
The bar at the bottom that has search and carpool need to have a button to turn it off. It is not needed while driving and when on my motorcycle and my phone is turned on its side the bar takes up over half my screen making it impossible to see the map.

Make the previous/next song buttons larger in the Spotify window.
Make the hitboxes of these buttons larger, so it is easier to change songs while driving.
For example they could receive touches from the left- or rightmost part of their row in the Spotify window.
