1. Route default to map view instead of list view

   I understand my route more if I visually see it. The default to showing me the list of routes is kind of annoying because I always want to see where I'm headed versus reading where I'm headed.

2. Pop Up Sizing

   Pop ups like drive now and directions now take over half the screed, even in a 10in display, this makes zero sense. .specially when the drive now shows destinations that are not really frequent, it was so simple before, only 2 options, home and work, i dont need to see a place i went to lunch 3 weeks ago on my pop up that takes half the screen every day! Cmon wazer team, this was a great app designed by people that seem like they used it, now, looks like the people designing this are only using it on a virtual environment on a pc and they dont even drive!

All this work could be avoided if WME would display a message when clicking on tools, indicating that the editing limit has been reached and no further changes can be saved.

4. Ich habe einige Worte

   Hallo liebes Waze Team,

   ich habe einige Fehler in der App entdeckt und habe ein paar Tipps und Vorschläge für euch.

   Fehler: Unter „Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“ lässt sich der Button nicht aktivieren. Er schaltet sich immer wieder auf OFF. Außerdem gibt es bei Apple CarPlay ein Problem: Wenn sich die Route ändert, verlängert oder verkürzt, erscheint unten links eine Anmerkung, die mit $$ beginnt. Ich vermute, dass es sich dabei um einen Bug handelt.

   Vorschläge: Es wäre super, wenn man in der App die Ampel sehen könnte. Das würde das Fahren deutlich sicherer machen, besonders in Großstädten.

   Zusätzlich wäre es hilfreich, wenn man bei Navigationsanweisungen statt Sätzen nur Geräusche hört, wie bei einer Benachrichtigung. Das würde einen dazu bringen, aufs Display zu schauen. Ein Wassertropfen-Geräusch wäre zum Beispiel eine gute Idee. Ich brauche keine Stimme, ich möchte nur geweckt werden, damit ich zu meinem Display schaue.

   Am wichtigsten wäre es jedoch, wenn man über Siri direkt Blitzer melden könnte. Leider hängt die Funktion „Unter Stimme und Ton“ -> „Sprich zum Melden“.

   Das Mikrofon Button bei Carplay, um die Orte zu nennen, reagiert ZU SCHNELL! Und der sound hört sich billig an und die animation sieht verpixelt aus.

   Ich würde mich freuen, wenn ihr mir eine Rückmeldung geben könntet, dass ihr die E-Mail gelesen habt.

5. Fix Fundamental Flaws Please

   It seems as though WAZE has a 3 fundamental flaws:

   1) Sometimes, I open it simply to see if there is traffic congestion but don’t need directions. Even so, the lovely, very helpful lady doesn’t seem top realize I don’t want direction and speaks to me.

   2) Even when I press the red ‘stop’ button the lady continues to talk to me. (Both of these situations are extremely frustrating, can be dangerous if I want to stop her talking while I’m driving!)

   3) Please, pretty-pretty please, display a large STOP icon at all times so it’s easier to shut the application down.

6. A Couple of ideas

   I live in Maryland and would like to make a couple of suggestions. First, Maryland has a new law where you are supposed to pull over for any vehicles now, not just Police, Emergency and Tow trucks. Can you modify the program so it would display which side of the road the vehicle is on so I could possibly move over ahead of time. Secondly, can you add a simple button for vehicle on the left side of the road, on the right side and for a police car.. I don't like going through all of the buttons to post a warning while I am driving. Thank You

8. Street name below the location icon.

   It is a serious flaw that Waze does not show the street name below the navigation icon. This is only displayed when the "go to" navigation is activated. In common use, the street name is never displayed and this makes it very difficult for the user to know which street they are traveling on or if they are in the right place. Waze needs to fix this. Another tip is that when we are traveling on a road, Waze should indicate the city we are passing through. This is also very important for better localization and a better user experience.

9. Bug with Navigate>Gas

   Even though my personal settings are set to Diesel, when I use Navigate/Gas - Waze displays ALL gas stations.

   I was on fumes and needed to find nearest diesel station. Ended up being trial and error and finding one in time.

    Okay, I would like to suggest 2 ideas for future addition.
    (1). Make it easy to access SETTINGS. Currently it's very difficult to try to find where the settings button is. Maybe having the icon display on the main screen.

    (2). Currently it's also very difficult to set the navigation up for a trip for future use. On my Samsung S23 it's so difficult to access the 'save' preview to set the navigation up for a specific time. Please make this option easy to access.
    There you have it. If you make these 2 options easier to control you will make many users very happy!

11. Reduce size of lower notification box

    Lower Notification bar too high and wide:
    The lower bar that shows ETA, time and Km left occupies too much area of the screen, hiding vital information very often.
    When there is a warning, like for example, an imminent radar, the notification box gets even bigger and covers like 1/3 of the screen, hiding something as vital as the max. speed allowed.
    The lower bar could display the same info using one third or even less screen space than it uses now. I suggest you to reduce its size and maybe keep it in the left lower corner to allow better visibility of the map and other info on screen.

Currently, when searching for a specific place like McDonald's, the app displays a list of locations with their distances. However, it would be helpful to have the option to view these locations directly on the map, allowing users to assess their proximity to specific streets or areas.

    Enhanced Decision-Making: Visualizing nearby places on the map provides users with a better understanding of their geographic distribution and allows them to evaluate which location is most convenient based on its proximity to streets or landmarks.

    When users search for a specific place, such as McDonald's, provide a toggle button or icon labeled "View on Map" alongside the existing list view.
    Upon selecting the "View on Map" option, the app transitions to a map view, centered on the user's current location, with pins or markers representing the nearby McDonald's locations.
    Each marker should display essential information such as the name of the location, distance from the user's current location, and street name (if available) when tapped.
    Users can interact with the map to zoom in/out, pan, and explore the different locations at their convenience.

13. Caravan Mode / Follow Me Mode

    I've been thinking in a new mode for Wazers... I've been driving with family along the road in different vehicles, not once we've been able to keep the same speed or pace and we end loosing sight of where the vehicles are. In Mexico safety its a very important matter, and everytime we are not able to see where the other cars that are driving with us we call them or text them to see if everything is fine. I imagine a Caravan Mode in which multiple Waze accounts are linked for a trip and you can watch the vehicles listed in the CarPlay in a vertical sideway explaining things such as: amount of vehicles in the caravan, distance between one and another, if the vehicle is moving or stopped. Every vehicle will be able to post some special status, such as: Stop we are OK, Back on driving, SOS, etc... if we have this status next to the regular Waze display we will assure calm on everyone because we all will have visibility on where are the remaining vehicles and the distances between the next one. If the caravan is loosing the last vehicle someone can reduce the speed to accompany the last car. Everything to make it happen its already in control of Waze, speed, location, etc. It will make driving so much safe and with more detail on the other vehicles on the journey

14. Ability to EXIT from Alert Pop Up

    On the new display design, when an alert pops up on the left-hand side (i.e. disabled vehicle on shoulder), it often hides information in the top-left navigation box. The user can not hide that alert box without hitting (1) still there or (2) not there. Oftentimes, the issue is still some ways down the road and the driver has no idea which to press. BUT, the driver presses something -- anything -- to remove the alert because they need to see the navigation information. This probably leads to bad data being shared out. Give the driver the option to HIDE or EXIT from an alert without having to press Still There/Not There.

15. Navigation improvements

    I strongly suggest the developers come to Dubai and drive around with this app for a few days. You will understand that giving the driver instructions to get into the far left lane on a 9 lane highway literally 100m before having to change lanes is not only impractical, but actually dangerous. I have checked...this graphical display at the top of the screen should change no less than 1800m before the change should occur. It is a wonderful app, far ahead of Google maps, but for now I will uninstall it as it has caused me quite a few headaches. I will revisit in a year or so when the app has been updated.

17. So I left lusby md headed to Jackson ms. I loved the route provided down 301 to 64 n so on, But I could not duplicate same route home

    Please consider option to reverse route taken say from lusby md to Jackson ms via 301s ton64 and so on west but I could not duplicate the Ecactvroute home took an extra 3 to 4 hours

18. Android Split Screen Broken

    After a recent Waze or Android update, when using Android's built-in split screen feature to display both Waze and another app at the same time, Waze's UI is very broken. The lower half of the screen is completely unreadable, and trying to interact with it is quite glitchy. Please look into qa'ing Android with split screen more thoroughly.

    Note that this has nothing to do with Android Auto as I see many other posts regarding Android Auto specifically; this is using the built-in split screen feature by opening the current app list, tapping the Waze icon at the top of the screen, and selecting split screen (and then selecting the second app to split it with).

    BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) — Drivers using some of the major interstates and highways in Northeast Wisconsin will now notice a new alert on message boards warning them when there’s a wrong-way driver.

    It is one of the scariest moments drivers could face — heading down the highway or interstate at 70 miles an hour and headlights come straight at you.

    Brown County Sheriff’s Patrol Captain Dan Sandberg says it’s all too common and often ends with someone injured or killed, as happened on I-41 in southern Brown County in August.

    “It’s almost a weekly occurrence that we have somebody wrong way on the highway. Just recently, again last week, had another wrong way driver on (Interstate) 43,” says Sandberg.

    So when he saw a story we aired recently about message boards in Milwaukee County alerting people about wrong way drivers, he set to work to make it possible here.

    A few phone calls and one meeting later, the new alert system was activated last Thursday.

    Four days later, it was already put to use for an elderly driver going the wrong way on I-43.

    “It could take the officers, depending on where they are, anywhere from a couple minutes to five minutes to 10 minutes to get in that area, and that’s extra time we can warn whoever’s driving on that highway,” says Sandberg.

    “And that way people can be paying attention to it, because if you’ve got two vehicles at speeds of 70-75 miles an hour towards each other, you don’t have much time to react.”
    Here’s what happens: The 911 call comes into the Brown County Communications Center. Deputies are dispatched, and immediately dispatchers then call the State Traffic Operations Center in Milwaukee, which controls DOT message boards and cameras.

    With the punch of a few buttons, an alert reading “wrong way driver reported: use caution” will appear on message boards on the roads where the driver was last seen.

    “If you see a sign come up, what you need to do is start paying attention to every car that’s coming in the opposite direction of you to ensure that vehicle is actually on the correct side of the roadway,” advises Sandberg.

    He says most wrong way drivers are in the left lane, thinking they’re on a two lane road, so if you see one, stay to the right and call 911.

    Sandberg says, currently, alerts can broadcast on message boards on Highways 172 and 29 and Interstates 43 and 41, where he says the majority of wrong way drivers are reported.

    But this is not just happening in Brown County. Sandberg says the Department of Transportation is working to expand the system to Outagamie and Winnebago Counties, too.

20. Accurate speed

    When using Apple Car Play, my speed is continuously 12+mph over what I am actually doing. I can use the app on my phone just fine it’s accurate within + or - 2mph. I am confused as to why my truck displays such a difference. Brand new truck, brand new iPhone. All updates to apps and devices as required.
