   Program a way to pause or stop Wyze while you are driving, using a voice command. Do this so you can stop or pause Wyze while driving and not have to touch or look at screen.

3. WAZE navigation system could be adapted to the nation's railroad netword where it could become a new-technology Positive Train Control.

   Railroad Safety: a Ten Billion Dollar Boondoggle

   Derailments and collisions between trains are spectacular. Their economic and environmental consequences are considerable and they kill and injure people. In response, over the past forty years, pressed by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and Congress the railroads have been implementing Positive Train Control (PTC) systems to reduce the potential for these crashes.
   Actually, U.S. railroads are quite safe for passengers. An average of only 5 people die in train crashes each year: slightly more than are killed in motor vehicle crashes in an hour. The number of serious injuries among train occupants is similarly low. On the other hand, nearly 700 “trespassers” die annually after being struck by trains while on or near railroad tracks and about 100 more are killed in vehicles struck by trains at grade crossings. These casualties are a consequence of two challenges: trains cannot be stopped quickly and it is difficult to keep people away from railroad tracks. PTC will do nothing for those struck by moving trains.
   The nation’s railroads and the FRA have spent about $10 billion on a variety of PTC systems and will apparently spend a few billion more to complete them. According to the FRA: “PTC systems are integrated command, control, communications, and information systems designed to prevent train accidents by controlling train movements with safety, security, precision, and efficiency.”
   Railroad transportation in the U.S. matured a century ago. Train dispatch, safety, maintenance, and such were mostly developed in the 20th century. More recent technologies are mostly used to provide an electronic substitute or enhancement of what had been done by hand. Modern communications are generally used as a substitute for the telegraph or telephones. It is an important, but hoary industry in desperate need of a 21st Century overhaul.
   Road users have the advantage of well-developed, real time, satellite-based navigation systems. There is no such unified system for railroads. Instead, the railroads are wasting their and the government’s money on ten duplicative, but not particularly compatible PTC systems that require very large numbers of expensive, high maintenance, and probably unreliable trackside sensors to monitor the position and speed of train sets. Since railroads regularly use each other’s’ tracks, this duplication is bizarre. Implementation of PTC has been delayed for years, at least in part because of the cost to complete it.
   
   The WAZE/Google navigation system provides not only information on where roads go, which can be used for trip planning, it also monitors traffic to show what the most rapid route is likely to be. It does this by monitoring, through satellite communications, the behavior of vehicles using this navigation system to determine areas of road congestion or other problems.
   
   Adapting this system to railroads would be relatively easy. WAZE/Google could substitute a map of the rail network for the road network and show the appropriate speed limit on all stretches of track as well as switch positions. This would be used to warn engineers if they are operating in a dangerous manner. In the event that an engineer ignores this warning, the receiver in the locomotive could automatically apply the train’s brakes.
   
   As with the highway system the positions and speeds all locomotives using the system, as determined using GPS, along with the positions of all switches in the system and the location of maintenance operations, could be sent through satellite to a central control where it would be monitored to determine the potential collision between trains.
   There are roughly 27,000 locomotives, some thousands of additional train sets not pulled by locomotives, and 140,000 miles of track in the United States. The cost of installing equipment to send and receive signals, for navigation, and for computer-based automatic braking would be less than $5,000 per locomotive and per switch for a total less than three hundred million dollars. (The cost of a real-time navigation system, along with automatic braking is less than $1000 per motor vehicle.) Software for adapting the highway navigation system to PTC and establishing a central control to warn of collisions would cost less than $100 million. Thus, an estimate of well under a billion dollars for all of the PTC hardware and software to implement a new, navigation-based PTC system seems reasonable. This is considerably less than the cost of completing the current PTC systems and could be paid by a consortium of railroads. If the will were there, it should not take more than about a year to implement this new system.
   A modern PTC could also become a basis for a more modern approach to railroad scheduling and management that could reduce costs and ensure more efficient use of the rail network. It could replace the current, antiquated, inefficient block system for regulating the use of rails. Because of industry competition and anti-trust considerations, it may require Congressional action to force national cooperation in establishing a unified 21st Century PTC system.
   The current approach to railroad safety is out of date and makes little sense. It lacks a rational connection with the reality of how most people are killed and injured in connection with railroads and the availability of effective technology. It results in ridiculous spending on what, at least in terms of human losses, is a relatively minor problem.
   PTC based on the technologies used for road navigation could substantially reduce human, equipment, and other losses from collisions and derailments. These savings would be sufficient to pay for the 21st century system based on the Google navigation system. It would also be an excellent business opportunity for WAZE/Google. The fact that billions have already been invested in PTC is irrelevant to the question of how the railroads should proceed with PTC. It must abandon the current wasteful development and start with a fresh approach as outlined herein.

6. Stop hiding the direction when displaying an alert

   When displaying an alert, it's very inconvenient and dangerous to suddenly have the directions hidden by the notification especially on the interchange.
   I randomly chick on not there anymore just to choose the right. At that moment I need clear instructions and both hands on the wheels !

7. In motorcycle mode make all choice options timed so they go away without need to press an option (not possible while riding, or in gloves)

   New route available options make Waze useless on a motorcycle. They cover the speedo and cannot be selected without stopping, removing glove and pressing a choice. I had to stop three times today. I have a bluetooth controller on the bike but that seems to get disabled when these announcements appear so stopping is the only option. I am using the motorcycle mode with motorcycle selected as my vehicle.

8. Automatic start route -> Add more options (home, other wazers work, then home...)

   If I go everyday to centre for other wazer and together we go home, lets have another option then Automatic go home first.

   Go Centre -> Go in 5, 4
   Go Home -> GO instead
   Go Another saved place -> GO

   basic algorytm involved: sort by number of times visited. Option to turn off.

   Bonus: Multiple choice - if I can check like 4 od five saved places by one click.

9. Emphasize searching by business address during user onboarding.

   As a volunteer editor, I deal with many URs that involve what the user perceives to be "incorrect" address navigation. I frequently find myself advising reporters to search by business name instead of address, because the business PP is generally more accurate than the HN. It would be great if this could be added to the tips that are shown to a new user when they first run the app. I think this would reduce user frustration because they likely expect navigation to the building like in GMaps when they enter an address. They don't realize they are being taken to a stop point on the named road that might seem inaccurate for a business in a shopping center removed from the main road.

10. Notification for gas stations rest erea text erea

    It's happening that you run out of gas and you miss the gas exit.
    You want to stop by the rest erea and you miss the resting erea exit.
    You want to stop to text and you miss the texting erea.
    A lot of the times when you see the exit sing it's to late to stop.
    Waze should have the option for a pop up notification a mile or 2 before.
    Also a lot of the times you have to get off the highway to fined the gas station so you should be able to click on exit and it should add this stop to your rout

12. Update search feature in CarPlay

    Please fix the search feature in car play. Having a list show up is not helpful if you are trying to add a stop onto your route. Have the search show up on the overview map so then you can pick which insisted best to stop at on the route.

    Also,

    Please add stop lights visible in the map. Like you can see railroad crossings. It’s surprisingly useful in Google Maps (which I use all the time because of these two great features).

13. Collaborative Routing

    Waze works like the most other Navigation Apps. You can choose between 1 and 3 different fixed routes, that sometimes slightly change when there is a lot of traffic ahead. The problem is, that Waze works like a broadcast as far as I know.

    So when Route 1 have heavy traffic, all other users get Route 2 to avoid traffic. The problem here is, that new heavy traffic will be created to avoid the first.

    All cars following the same alternative route.

    Instead of rely on fixed routes, each user should get a personal routing suggestion l, each Route little different.

    Combined with a reroute request every 30s to check the current traffic we could avoid a lot of traffic that is already there and more importantly, stop to create new jams.

    For people that drive in a convoy, there should be a option to sync the routes, so they have the same.

15. Soon turn notifications

    I need sooner notice of a turn. With a 14’ trailer full of equipment I need sooner notifications of a turn. At 50 mph there is no way to stop or slow down when I have very little notice of a turn.

    I need several notifications: 1/4 mile, 1500 feet, 1000 feet, 500 feet, 100 feet.

    If there was a setting to set this it would help.

    My sound automatically connects to my truck but will not play sound while I’m on Satellite Radio. The setting keeps changing. I set in setting to play through phone speaker. However it is changing itself.

16. Avoid Paved Roads

    As an owner of a street legal UTV, SxS, or ATV, or as an owner of a non-street legal UTV, SxS, or ATV in jurisdictions where they are allowed on roads (multiple counties near me in Michigan allow this)… I want to have Waze provide me a route to a destination that avoids paved roads (prefers dirt roads), similar to the existing feature “Avoid Unpaved Roads”.

17. Eliminate or allow turning off of construction in hazards

    Eliminate construction from hazards, or let us turn off. Work route is 40 miles, ALL 40 will be under construction for the next 10 years. Don't need 5-10 alerts muting my music or news for multiple seconds for the (too) long ding sound that can't be changed. I am close to turning hazards off completely due to this one issue.

    Perhaps the greatest problem with Waze is when the inconvenience of taking a nonstandard route is not proportional to the time savings the new route provides. All too often I’m taken on an insane route in comparison to the normal one just to save two minutes.

    I would like to prevent Waze from automatically rerouting (or suggesting an alternative “best route”) unless the new route saves 10 minutes of the total “mainstream” route time.

    Perhaps people could choose different thresholds for reroutes.

    I hate it when all of a sudden I’m rerouted in traffic on the highway to take the next exit in half a mile and I struggle to get over in bumper-to-bumper traffic just to find out I’m getting off the highway and back on the highway to save 60 seconds.

19. Simplify how to report issues

    Have you considered added a few quick report buttons to the map screen? have to click through multiple screen is a hazard not only to you, the driver but to everyone on the road around you. Having a quick click button right on the map for 3-5 of the most common reports ie: vehicle on the side of road, accident (you don't report whether it's a minor or major accident and to be honest, we don't care. We only car that there is an issue up ahead.) traffic (again, minor or major are of no concern), road works.

    I forgot, perhaps make it hand free, all Siri or Google or whoever your AI is, to listen and report the issue. Google assistant does this already but only for accidents which, thankfully, are few and far between

20. Add Road Closure Reporting to Android Auto

    I’d like to raise this again because it’s a major issue. A report was already made last year about adding Road Closure Reporting to Android Auto and it gained hundreds of votes and comments, yet there’s still been no visible progress or update.

    Right now, Android Auto users are stuck driving into the same closed roads multiple times because we can’t report closures directly from the interface.     This feature already exists in the mobile app—why hasn’t it been extended to Android Auto yet? Can you please update the community on whether this is being worked on or if there are plans to implement it?

    It’s not just a convenience feature—it directly affects safety, routing accuracy, and the overall reliability of Waze.

    I’d like to raise this again because it’s a major issue. A report was already made last year about adding Road Closure Reporting to Android Auto and it gained hundreds of votes and comments, yet there’s still been no visible progress or update.

    Right now, Android Auto users are stuck driving into the same closed roads multiple times because we can’t report closures directly from the interface.
