2. enable Navigation while AVOIDING "RED ROADS"(roads defined as such by authorities/NGO's). Red Road = higher probability for an accident.

   Nation wide, the safety level of road infrastructure reflects budget constarints, professional considerations-mistakes etc.

   Government as well as NGO's e.g. Or Yarok(Israel) monitor accident rates(as well as severty) per LOCATION.....

   Thus it is possible to rate certain roads/junctions as RED - being more dangerous, based on hard statistics.

   Most of the drivers are NOT aware of above(i.e. that they can drive to their destination with significantly lower accident risk) and would probably be happy not to RISK their families and hence chose an alternative, safer road.
   Regardless of the fact that it would require longer driving.

   Such measure would lead to reduction !!!! of traffic in dangerous RED areas, until the problem would be solved-if at all.

   This is a clear life saving measure.

   RED points/roads should be defined by MOT-NOGO's and updated regularly.

   A public relations buzz must be created to allow the public to protect itself from using high risk roads.

   This is a classical example to WAZE's potential contribution to save life and fight road accidents, world wide.

3. Do not cancel driver reports for mis-taps

   Suggestion: Do not dump Wazers completely out of the reporting process because of a mis-tap or error.

   Problem solved: Prevents Wazers from having their attempts to help totally aborted due to mistakes, which is discouraging, frustrating, annoying, demoralizing, and may discourage Wazers from submitting future reports.

   Discussion:

   When a user opens the report feature on a mobile device, they are presented with a collection of icons to choose from. If, because they are driving and trying to pay attention to the road, they happen to miss the target and accidentally tap the space between icons, the report display cancels out. Now they have to restart the process, and by restarting, assuming they are still in motion, the report will now be in the wrong location. This also results in extending the time the driver is interacting with Waze instead of driving.

   If a user has the report feature open and is not sure which category to choose from for a specific situation, they will try one of them. If it turns out the category they chose does not work (or if they tapped the wrong one by accident because they are driving or hit a bump or whatever), the natural intuitive action is the tap the “back” button so they can go back one step. However, as above, attempting to go back also completely cancels out the report process. So, as above, if they try again, they are spending even more time interacting with Waze than was necessary, and of course the report will also be in the wrong location.

   FIX 1: While in the report flow, do not close the process if the user taps into blank space between icons. Just be patient and let them try again.

   FIX 2: While in the report flow, do not close the process if the user taps their “back” button. Instead take them back to the previous screen so they can try to complete their intended action.

   MAINTAIN: While in the report flow, if the user clear taps the map display, go ahead and close the process (this is current functionality).

   Suggestion: Do not dump Wazers completely out of the reporting process because of a mis-tap or error.

4. Show street currently being driven on

   Where it currently prompts for Car Type or Vehicle Info in a blue oval near the bottom center, instead show which street is currently being driven on. The other prompts don't seem important enough to be in that prime space all the time. Sometimes when driving by sense of direction it can be easy to not know which road you're on and it never shows on the map itself.

5. Navigation Option: No notifications for a specified radius from home (Do I need turn directions to get out of my neighborhood?)

   Allow a user defined radius where turn by turn instructions are not announce for areas familiar to the driver, i.e. driving out of their neighborhood or the route to the interstate. Allow warnings and alerts to be announced so driver may decide to reroute.

6. Disable Speed Limit Warning Beep

   THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY !!
   I almost deleted Waze from my iPhone - instead just disable bluetooth on my phone - which kills hands-free phone which is NOT ACCEPTABLE either
   You simply MUST MUST MUST make it possible for the user to DISABLE the DAMM SPEED LIMIT CHIRP
   This thing goes off 10 times in a 5-mile local stretch of road, interrupting radio and other media playing on the audio system.
   My Escort 360 keeps me well appraised of the limits, as does Waze with the red speed limit circle. Wazers deserve the option to NOT BE OVERLOADED with extraneous Bleeps while driving.
   Kindly enable a speed-limit warning disable function (OR even better - disable OR set a max over the limit buffer - such as Warn when 5, 7, 10, 15 miles over the limit)

7. Report markers should be marked when the user presses the report button, not the send button.

   Whenever I drive on windy freeways, or freeways with frequent blind spots, I don't see reportable items (police, vehicles on shoulder, etc) until the moment I pass them. Given the typical delay of entering the data into Waze, the markers end up being 500 to 1000 plus feet away from the actual item being reported.

8. recycling Feature

   Dear Waze, I am a sixth grader at Spring Creek Elementary in Dallas, Texas. My robotics team and I are working on our project for the First Lego League City Shaper season. The goal of the project this season is to somehow improve our city. We are acknowledging that the world is having a hard time recycling. Would you help our cause and consider adding a special feature on Waze or Google Maps that shows where recycling bins owned by stores and other buildings that have signed up to have their recycling bin available to the public. Recycling is important since waste has a large impact on the environment. Landfill sites can give of harmful chemicals and greenhouse gasses and pollute the area. Also, recycling limits the use of unprocessed materials so rain forests can be preserved. One more beneficial thing is that reusing recyclable materials is cheaper, easier, and uses less energy than than making products from raw materials. This helps to preserve natural resources and keep pollution down. This feature would help people recycle because it makes recycling more efficient and easy to do in the middle of a drive.

9. More re-routing flexibility

   I would love to specify how open i am to re-routing before a journey - i.e. being able to choose ‘reroute automatically - get me there ASAP’ or ‘don’t reroute without confirmation - prefer my route where possible.’

   Why: I drive a specific one of two ways out of my city when taking a long journey because while the other road is technically faster if you drive at the speed limit it is also dangerous and has poor surface conditions. This means in reality it is slower and stressful. If I do not manage to cancel the re-routing in time, I then have to either try to select an alternative route on my CarPlay (not advisable driving at 60mph on winding country roads), or stop the car to reinstate what I told it before I set off.

10. More options for changing distance units

    Having the map directions/ETA distance units option as well as the speed limit option. For example, the map directions/ETA in kms and then showing the speed limit in miles.
    This would be useful for someone driving out of country to be aware of the speed limit while maintaining their preferred units for the directions.
    I am a Canadian living in the US therefore am driving in miles/speed limit is in miles but I have a better sense of distance in kms.

11. Improve the Android Automotive version.

    I would like the Waze version for Android Automotive to be as good as the mobile version, in addition to adding some options that are necessary while driving.

    1-In the Android Automotive version, the radar alerts do not emit any sound, making it completely useless, as you won't be looking at the screen continuously while driving.

    Moreover, the other alerts only emit a notification sound, and when it sounds, you have to look at the screen to know what danger is approaching, diverting your attention from the road.

    All alerts should be like in the mobile version, with a voice announcing what danger is coming.

    2-It would be great to have all the options available in the mobile version, without needing to use the mobile phone to change some settings.

    3-It would be wonderful to see the map, directions, and alerts on the cockpit screen behind the steering wheel, and to have the directions and alerts displayed on the heads-up display.

    With these changes, Waze for Android Automotive would be something fantastic, just like it already is in the mobile version.

12. Stop search results from auto-updating too quickly while driving

    Whenever I'm driving, using Android Auto and search for gas stations under the categories option, I'm really only able to view the first and second results. There are more results that are presented that I can scroll down to. However, after about a second or less, the results update and scroll back up to the top of the list. This only started happening in the last year or so. It used to work where you could scroll down through the results while in motion but this no longer works. Can you bring this back so that the search functionality is usable again!!!

    Countdown to Safe Overtaking on Highway 90 (Arava Road)
    The Problem:
    The section between Arava Junction and Ketura Junction on Highway 90, approximately 120 km long, is considered one of the most dangerous stretches of road in Israel. Most of the road is a single lane in each direction, without safe overtaking options – leading to pressure, aggressive driving, and daily life-threatening situations.
    Between 2000 and 2020, 81 people were killed on the Arava section of Highway 90, many of them in accidents caused by dangerous overtaking where no safe passing zones were available.
    A Life-Saving Feature Suggestion:
    Waze could add a smart alert – a timer on the side of the screen or a visual/audio notification – that informs drivers about the next upcoming safe overtaking section:
    🕒 "In 2.4 km – Two-lane road ahead for safe overtaking"
    ⏳ "Wait 90 seconds – Safe passing zone approaching"
    Why it matters:
    • Studies in psychology and transportation show that when people lack visibility or control, especially on monotonous roads with no clear overtaking options, their frustration and risk-taking behavior increase.
    • Research also shows that when drivers know how long they need to wait, patience rises, and impulsiveness drops. This principle is successfully used in countdown timers at crosswalks, traffic lights, and public transit – and could be just as effective in driving apps.
    Bottom line:
    A small feature. A massive impact.
    On a road where dozens have lost their lives – even a small shift in driver behavior could save lives.

14. Set final the destiny in behalf of another user who is driving

    My wife was driving and she could not change the place where I would like to meet her. My suggestion is to allow people within agenda set the final destiny in behalf of the user who is unable to change the destiny.

16. Bridge out

    I was driving in an area where a bridge was out and under construction. The construction was showing up but there was no way to tell it that it was closed and for the navigation to use a different route. It kept trying to send me over the bridge. I tried several different ways to get the closure to show up.

    I usually drive alone and as a woman travelling solo there have been some roads on which I have been somehow scared due to their lack of illumination/population nearby. I was wondering if you have ever thought about adding a feature that would flag roads safe for women travelling alone. For me, I would definitely feel safer knowing that the route is well lit/populated/does not go through dangerous neighborhoods and I wouldn't mind if it's not the shortest or quickest route as long as I feel safe. There would always be the option to choose if one wants to take a different route which is shorter/quicker so it would be up to the user.

19. can waze autostart when i start to drive? like location change update or any other way

    When location is on ,start waze as soon as location changes.Will be perfect for us waze lovers!

20. Return Route same as Initial Route

    I had to drive to Greenville, NC from Morehead City. And the route was different than the return home. The return home was actually longer, and took me on a lot of smaller streets and small towns instead of the large streets that was the initial out. This should be critical
