Show border line on map
Since the corona virus crossing borders in Europe isn't that easy as before. So it would be nice if I could see the border line clearly on the map. A thick red line for example (like google maps) or something similar would be neat.
It also makes things easier to navigatie if you know whether you entering a different country when planning your route. In Europe, this sometimes could be the case.

Police
Sorry to upset all of the folks asking for more features to warn of police presence but this is a childish feature which should be removed. Waze is a great app and you would be best served by taking the "high road" and promoting the app as an aid to road safety by making drivers aware of road situations and hazards. But many wazers like me have their kids also driving and I am just waiting with dread for the day that a fellow wazer tells a drunken driver how to avoid a policeman and then that drunk driver kills…

Geotagged event triggers
Allow the user to define an event such as playing one of your own sounds, display one of your own photos or play a music track at or near specific places. Example uses - get onto a fast stretch of road and your music changes, and changes back when you get into town again. Get a mile from a toll booth and a note appears telling you how much money to have ready. Drive near a grocer and your recording says "don't forget to get the eggs". Go past a tourist attraction and a recording tells you about it. You…

To have options to report unsafe areas (Eg.South Africa - Riots) so that tourists and people unaware don't drive into said areas
I am from South Africa and unfortunately we often have riots and there are areas that aren't safe to drive. It would be good to have an option that allows this to be highlighted or reported (as we do with traffic) so people that are unaware don't intentionally drive into dangerous areas.

Automate road closure Report
It is difficult to report road closures in real time - especially on a freeway - because of the approach speed and unexpected driving adjustment. If Waze inquired why I missed a turn/off-on ramp it would be helpful. This is similar to when Waze asks "you slowed down - are you in traffic?" If Waze notices that I missed a turn/off-on ramp it should ask "you missed a turn- was there a road closure ?" This way I can report later ( give me 60 secs) when safe. Stop using last direction of travel to determine directions on startup.
Waze should not use the last direction of travel for determining routes. Instead of routing 5 turns to go the opposite direction on a roadway, waze should just say "go east/west/north/south on xx" or just not have any audible direction and send you on the fastest path mid segment.

"Estimated TIME in Traffic Jam NN-minutes" message should be extended with jam distance, like "Estimated TIME in Traffic Jam 10 minutes in 3 kilometers"

Saved places folders
It would be nice if individual saved places could be saved in separate folders. Possible one for family, shopping, vacation, activities, etc. It would make it faster and easier to find a place without scrolling through my entire saved list.

Mute voice guidance near home/work
Please have an option to mute the voice guidance in a radius of [X] distance from my home, and/or from work. Alerts should not be muted by this setting.
It's annoying that I have to listen to voice guidance near my home -- I know how to get from my house to the main road, thank you very much! But turning the voice off and on again during the drive (during every drive!) is a nuisance and a safety risk.

"Stop running in the background" switch on iOS
Hi. I found that Waze continues to run and use GPS and 3G signal while backgrounded on the iPhone. This is catastrophic in our country for two reasons: 1. It keeps the phone very hot. 2. it uses data at about 0.15 USD/MB, thereby ticking down your data and using up your money. You have to explicitly turn it off or explicitly quit the app. There should be a switch that says, and is by default, set to "Do not run or use data or GPS in the background". Vehicle Gloss Weight, Vehicle Height and weight restrictions
Show weight limits on streets for example 3.5T , 5T and such, as a van driver I struggle sometimes to find a route myself to go around a street that has a less then 3.5 Tones limit or bridge that has a height of less than 3.2 meters. It would be really useful if you could make a note of these limits and automatically save time.

Allow viewing on mobile while connected to android auto
When my phone is connected to Android Auto, viewing the app on the phone is disabled but not all features are enabled on the car display which are often needed. I cannot change my vehicle type (car/motorcycle), I cannot share my ride, if I am not currently navigated I cannot change alert settings.

Ford Sync integration
Later this year, Ford will release the APIs for integrating apps with vehicles that have Sync. Waze could use the vehicle's on-board GPS, speedometer, and other data instead of running the phone's GPS.
